He turned to Red and shook his head. “No way dude I need to get out of this arceus forsaken place for a while or else I’ll end up becoming one with the walls or some shit.” He put an edge of sarcasm in his voice and gave the other a tired smile. He rocked back on his heals a bit staring at Red before nodding his head in the direction of the doors. “Plus most restaurants still serve coffee at this hour and hey I’m paying.” He clicked his tongue and waited for Red to start walking with him again.

He did have a point. Red nodded. “Alright.” The man began to walk. This time he was beside Green. He coincidentally hit his hand on Green’s hand. “Sorry. Bad habit of walking too close.” Where the heck was there to even get coffee. Red wasn’t really familiar with Fiore. “I hope we make it back in time.”

Had he been more observant and less tired, his face might have heat up at the small contact. He blew it off as nothing though. "Huh? Oh, I don't really care man." He shrugged his shoulders and then smiled. "I think the school can survive five minutes without you or me being around, don't worry about it." By this time they neared the doors, he pushed it open with his back, holding it for the other. "Hell I don't think half the students would even notice."

He stretched his arms up, and started in the direction that would lead him outside. He pat Red’s back to follow. “Yeah the mornings aren’t too kind to me.” He checked his surroundings once more to make sure he was going the right way. Nodding to himself, he kept walking.

“Hell if I know. There’s are a few places not too terribly fucking far from here though. Dunno if they’re any good, but it doesn’t matter to me where we go long as I can get a cup of coffee.”

“Why did Green have to swear so much geez.” The man thought to himself shaking his head slightly. Red followed him. “Well.. there’s coffee in the staff lounge you know..” He stopped walking and looked at the other man.

“Hn..” Red hesitated, then looked at his watch. “Sure. I don’t have anything to do right now.” He smiled at Green. “You just wake up huh? Anyways, where exactly are we going?”

Red was doing what he usually did. Roaming the hallways make sure everything was in order. He vaguely smiled at a few students. Chatted with a few staff members. The bell for first period rang. Red was making his way back to his office when, lo and behold he saw Green. Late again was he? Of course he was. It was Green after all. Then again he realized that he probably wasn’t even teaching a class this block. Good thing too. The man walked by the professor before he stopped and cleared his throat. “Green…” he turned to the man. “Nice to see you up and early…. for once.”

"Oh, 'ay Red." The sleep stuck in his voice and he yawned. He was still fairly tired even for the full nights rest, but his brain stayed half asleep. Arceus whats a guy gotta do to get a cup of coffee around here? His stomach growled again as a reminder to his hunger.

Hell where do I even get food I mean, really-

His tired brain slowly churned out an idea.

Red.

Food.

Brilliant.

"Dude uh," He started. Was it lunch time or breakfast? Brunch? "Wanna get a bite to eat with me?" He'd probably already eaten but hey it was worth a shot. "Don't really know many restaurants around this middle of now where place but hell, anything sounds better then shitty cafeteria food right now." Considering the last part wasn't a lie, he hoped Red would take the bait, even if it was only to show him a place that wasn't filled to the brim with hungry students and lunch ladies.

He ran a hand through his hair, blinking the sleep from his eyes and looked at the clock "Shit." he muttered to himself, falling back onto the bed. Well fucking thank arceus most students wouldn't even be in class today. He rubbed his eyes before just blankly staring at the ceiling, taking short and shallow breathes. Though if I stay away from my class room too long the kids are going to start thinking my class is easy. He smiled to himself and lay there wondering if he should just go back to sleep. Really there wasn't much to do anyway.

His stomach made a noise of protest though and he forced himself out of bed.

He stretched his arms out and scratched his side, groggily making his way to the small fridge that resided in his dorm. Opening the door, his eyes strained to re-focus from the bright light. He groaned as he realized the only things the fridge contained were an unopened can of beer and carton of milk. He took the milk out and shook it. An empty carton of milk. His stomach growled again and he looked at in frustration.

"Yeah, yeah, I fuckin' hear you." He put the carton back in the fridge and closed the fridge door. Well fuck, guess that rules out any planes to stay inside for the rest of the day.

Tripping over dirty clothes and papers that littered his floor, he made his way to his closet and blindly grabbed and threw on whatever felt like a shirt and pants. Stumbling his way into the bathroom he brushed his teeth and washed his face and took a moment to see what he had put on. A black t-shirt and some khakis. Seemed good enough to him. He used his hand to mess with his hair before feeling alright with it and gave himself a customary wink and smile.

His stomach growled louder then the last time and he rolled his eyes, turning off the bathroom light and going to dig for a pair of shoes. After finding a pair that looked like they were in working condition, he made his way out the door and down the hall.

Now where in hell am I going to find food.

He looked around the room as silence fell.

“…………….” Why was he even laughing? Red started to feel his cheeks get warmer. Was it really that dumb of a question? I mean.. he isn’t really that good at conversations but still…

He nodded. “Very nice weather…we are having..”

He almost felt bad when he let another small laugh escape. He had forgotten how arceus awful Red could be at conversation. And just how dense he could be. Had it not been for his own eccentric behavior, they probably would have never talked much at all.

He idly wondered what that would be like and took another sip from his beer, drinking the last of it. He sat it down on the desk and reached for another. "Actually, I'd say the weather's shit. Hot as hell." He grabbed another beer and reached into his pocket. "But I mean really, Red," He pulled out the key chain and opened the bottle with a resounding snap. "There's gotta be something on your mind other then school and pokemon." He took a sip of the beer, thinking a moment. "Wait, don't tell me. School and pokemon is the only thing on your mind."

“Hn. Lucky girl.” No. Nope not lucky at all. Red didn’t think any girl could handle Green. If they could, they must be really strong willed and tolerant. “Just a crush then, huh?” The man grinned. “Uh…..” he said looking at the beer. He did not want that bottle to touch his lips ever again. The bitter taste was still in his mouth. If he wasn’t so tired he would have ran upstairs to the bathroom to scrub his tongue. “It’s… you know.. beer.” Red coughed. “How are your … pokemon…” What?

Ha, way to call yourself a girl, man...

The way Red had looked like he had tasted something completely potent after his first sip had told him the other probably wouldn't be drinking the rest of it any time soon. He sipped at his own beer as Red talked.

How are my pokemon?

He stared at Red a little letting a slight awkward silence take a hold.

Before bursting out laughing.

It could have been that he was starting to feel a little buzz from the alcohol, or maybe the week filled with work and slight lack of sleep was finally getting to him.

"Man, we might as well be talking about the weather here, Red. Could you get anymore cliche?" He smiled at the other slightly.

Red took a sip of the beer. He made an odd face. He never really was fond of the taste. “Chicks?” He placed the beer down on his desk. “Uhm…you mean like.. my love life? I have none.” The man rubbed the back of his neck. “What about you?” This conversation may have been a little awkward but at least it wasn’t about the school.

He tried (and failed) to hide the fact he was smiling behind his beer bottle. Because really, what shitty friend would enjoy the other friends lack of relationship.

Right, him.

He sipped back some courage. "No, not any girls yet." He took another gulp down. "But there is someone I have my eye on you could say." He lifted an eyebrow and sipped the beer again.

He questioned how deep this self destructive behavior actually ran because arceus...

"But hey you know, not a big deal." He tried to turn the subject around. "So hows that beer?"

“Ah…” He replied. Red watched Green drink all that beer. Where does it all go, geez. He picked up the bottle and looked at it for a while before opening his mouth. “……I’ll drink this. If you please stop talking about school.” That was a really odd thing for him to do but he just really was not in the mood to talk about school. Not right now. Not with Green. They were stuck here 24/7 and the last thing he wanted to do was talk about school when school was already over. The look Red gave was almost a begging look. Almost.

His face practically lit up and the grin he now wore was nothing short of prideful. Stop talking about school? Man that was easy.

Especially after he had a few of these.

"So, uh." He leaned back in the chair, stretching his arms across the back looking relaxed. He searched his brain for something to talk about that wasn't school. "How's it going with the chicks?"

He took another sip of his drink casually and mused that that could have been the stupidest thing he could have asked.

But hey he never said he didn't have self destructive tendencies.

He knew how Green was but the attitude he was giving him plus the lack of sleep was starting to get to Red. “Hn.” He nodded, though he had no intention of even touching the bottle. “By all means, you drink away.” he said while leaning back in his chair trying to get comfortable. “So how have you been? We haven’t actually gotten a chance to sit and talk. I don’t mean Professor to Principal. I mean friend to friend.” No matter how much he wanted to punch Green in the face sometimes, he still had a soft spot for him. They knew each other so long that, hell, Red may even call Green his bestfriend. That thought made him smile a little. Said smile faded quickly because Green may think he was a little nuts for smiling for no reason.

He downed his drink while the other talked, taking the last of the bottle down in large gulps. Staring at Red's beer for a moment he opted to pull out a new one from the box.

"Man I mean there's not much to talk about." I mean we could talk about the fact that I'd enjoy throwing you on the desk and-

He got out the bottle opener from his pocket again and popped open the beer, taking a sip, and pocketed the item again.

"The weeks been hectic as hell with new classes starting up." He twirled the tip of his bottle in the air as he spoke "Kotone's usually off doing arceus knows what and I'm stuck either hauled up in my class or hauled up in my dorm." He had opted that he'd call it a dorm, as weird as it felt on his tongue. "It sucks ass."

He stared at his bottle a moment and then downed half of it.

“………” He stared at the bottle. “I don’t drink.” As much as he wanted to tell him to get out, he knew that he’s been avoiding any personal conversations with Green. Part of it made him feel like a bad friend but the other part of him knew it was the professional thing to do. Although… It was the weekend after all, maybe a break from school related conversations would be good for the Principal. “Busy. You?”

He rolled his eyes. Red was many things and a god damn tight ass at times was one of them. "It's the first week of school how the hell you think it's been?" He tipped his bottle towards Red. "And come on dude it's the weekend, time to let lose." He was practically whining. "Maybe it'll help you relax a little."

He took a swig from his bottle and set his arm back down on the table. He looked at red with what would probably qualify as a pout in most jurisdictions, but he hoped it looked more like a plead. A plead to just drink the damn bottle and maybe actually then they could have a conversation that wasn't just about stupid school. Arceus knows when the last time that had happened.

Red woke up with a slight jolt, yet said nothing. He opened one eye. “Green…” his voice trailed off. The man rubbed his eyes before sitting up straight in his chair. “And beer..“ He said, looking at the box of beer on his desk. “What are you doing. Shouldn’t you be in bed like the rest of the normal people at this school?”

He let his hand that wasn't still holding the box come down onto the table so he could lean in just a bit. "Sorry to wake you from your beauty sleep, but you should know by now that I don't really go to bed on Friday nights." He pushed himself off the desk and pulled out two beers from the box with one hand. He rummaged through his front pocket with the other before pulling out his keys and a bottle opener key-chain.

He opened both, setting one next the the other man before grabbing the chair behind him and pulling it closer to himself and the desk. He sat back in it comfortably, resting his arms on the desk in front of him, beer in hand.

"So" He started off. "How was your week."

Red sunk down in his chair with a sigh. Finally the day was over. He couldn’t wait until the weekend. This week was crazy. Non-stop phone calls and concerned teachers and students coming into his office. All of them were either screaming, crying or nagging him (sometimes a mixture of all of them). He was so revealed he could have fallen asleep right then and there. Thinking about the effort of having to walk back to his room made his head spin. The man slowly began to close his eyes.

The long week, as all weeks did, had gotten to Green. His shoulders felt heavy an his head beat slightly as he walked down the hall carrying a box of what was presumably cheep beer. He walked down to the office were he was sure he'd find his... Colleague? Friend? Rival?

He cast the thought aside. Labels were bullshit anyway.

The bottles clanked together as he reached the door and swung it open easily.

"Hunny I'm home." His voice coming off in a sing song manner as he put on an easy smile for Red. He shut the door behind him using his foot, and walked over to Red's desk and swung the box of bottles onto his desk. He looked at Red smugly.

"And I brought a present."

He leaned back in his teachers... Dorm? Is that what he was going to call it? Sounded too much like he was a student.

But hey students don't get to bring a two six packs of beer to their room.

He sat on his bed, back propped up against the wall as he popped open another can and took a swig.

Happy fathers day pops.

Can only hope you're proud.

“……………….”

I was going to get fired or something.

Red said nothing but grinned.

“Hn.” The man nodded. “I’ll ask the janitor to clean it up.” He looked up at Green. “Other than that everything’s good?” Red asked, pressing the tip of the pen to the piece of paper. “It’s going alright.” he replied.

Wait was he... smiling? Really he didn't say anything funny, not that he remembered anyway. Asshole was probably amused by the stupid annoyances that happened throughout his day.

He had to admit it still looked cute on the kid.

But hey a lot of things would look cute on Red.

Maybe on top-

He turned his thoughts off there and fidgeted slightly.

"Yeah I guess it's alright or whatever." He moved his hand back down to cross over his arm on top the chair and rest his chin over top of them, eying the ceiling in hope of guidance. Oh right. Kotone.

He looked back at Red. "Though actually one more thing, could you arrange a detention for Kotone? I mean seriously I'm positive she's the little shit who decided to scribble all over my wall but even if she isn't she could use a detention anyway." He shrugged his shoulders. "The kids a god damn hand full, don't keep her on a tight leash and she ends up causing the fucking apocalypse or a public disturbance. Can't even take her anywhere." He paused, thinking. "Actually now that I think about it, give her two detentions, one for writing on my wall the other for just being a little shit in general."

Red looked up at the man. He nodded and motioned for Green to sit on the seat in front of his desk. “Right…” The man’s voice trailed off as he reached for a paper and pen. “I just wanted to check up on you and see how you’re settling in. Any problems with the classes or students?” Red looked at the professor. “It’s routine. I’m checking up on all the teachers..” He looked down at the paper, biting the end of his pen lightly. “You’re not in trouble so you can ease up.”

He let out a breath he didn't know he was holding when he heard what Red had to say. "Arceus man, you can't do that to a guy. You know you could have just slipped that into a casual conversation at a later time today, right? Just say 'hey Green hows the students hows the class'. It's not like you can't just walk down to my class and ask me."

He shifted a hand through his hair and chuckled lightly. "Man and here you had me thinking I was going to get fired or something." He stayed standing but closed the door that was behind him, his face looking more calm and relaxed then it had. He took the small amount of steps it took to cross over to the chair and propped his arms over the back, crossing them. The smallest upturn of the corners of his mouth was present.

"But man I really had a full class today really. I literally had one student come in. I think the rest are all shit scared but who knows." He thought for a moment staring off to the side to try and think. "Oh yeah, and no one's come in to clean the crayon shit off my walls yet, don't know if I informed you of that, but there are shitty doodles scrawled across it. Really gotta wonder who did that one." The last line came out as sarcastic as he could possibly muster. He directed his attention fully back to Red and picked his arm up to prop his face on his knuckles. "Hows being principal going for ya' so far this year?"

The new student muttered a small apology under his breath.

So is everyone else.

He watched as the teacher fumbled for something in his desk. Eventually he was presented with a form of some sort. He followed the teacher’s instructions and leaned over onto a desk. He quickly scanned over the text, swallowing hard.

What kind of class was this? Wasn’t it just a basics class?

He quickly scribbled his signature. He stood up right and read the paper once more, making sure there wasn’t anything he missed. He walked back over to the teacher’s desk and handed him the paper.

“So, uhm, am I only student in this class?” he questioned, quickly examining the contents of the teacher’s desk. He slid off his backpack and placed it on the floor by his feet, wary of its location, based on the paper he just signed.

He took the paper from the student and scanned it over. "Nope, should be more in time, everyone else just decided to skip class today I guess." He managed to make out the name Ebony from the signature. "Don't worry, they won't be getting let off for it." He sets the paper on the mess of papers and stands in front of the boy, looking him over once more.

"Alright So what pokemon you got, Ebony?" Arceus where the fuck was this kid from that it was acceptable to look like he did?

"Do any training before coming to this school? Have any battles yet or catch any pokemon outside the one they already gave you?" As he talked he fished through his mind as to what pokemon he could use against the kid that wouldn't outright crush his pokemon in one fowl swoop. No that wouldn't teach much and would just crush the kids spirit. Not that he was against that or anything, just seemed a little harsh for the first day. He'd go a little easy on him for now.
