maintain ur friendships not just ur romances

write your friends long sappy letters in cursive and mail them across the country so they can hold them in their hands and try to decipher your handwriting.

buy the shirt you know they’ll love 4 months before their birthday so you will be prepared. or finish making the scarf 6 months late. just do it at some point.

make them playlists with inside jokes in the middle to catch them by surprise. put it on a cd just so they have a physical version.

if you can’t see them on days that are important to them, call them, and promise to take them out to dinner to celebrate ASAP. even months afterward.

what are their favorite colors? their hangover foods? their childhood books? the thing they want to learn how to make? how do they handle stress? what’s their individual style, whether you like it or not? do they have quirks that make you love them fiercely?
