"Sorryâs totally right. You so shouldnât be freaking out over something so small." She sighed, rolling her eyes. "But in all honesty, I never would let you do that kind of stuff with me."
"HahaâŠ" his humourless laugh trailed off. It wasnât like he wanted to do anything like that, anyway. ââŠJust a misunderstanding, right?â
"Hey man, whatever you have to say just spit it out already!"
"UhmâŠIâŠI really like your butt!"Â
"Wally, cool, uh," Nate scratched the back of his neck. "Are you a trainer?" he asked, trying to think of something they could talk about without any more weirdness. If he was they could battle or something, and even if he wasnât, everyone likes PokĂ©mon, soâŠ
He perked up at that mention. "Oh. Yes, I am! Are you?" He looked like a trainer. Maybe they could battle. At least the topic changed.

    Though, even as she says this, a vague smile pulls at her lips as if she were amused by the fact that he found such a simple thingâÂ
    ..An offer? To dance, as well? This was certainly a first, if anything.
           â ..Though.             Do you even know how to dance in the first place, Wally? â
He didn't. "I know a little bit," he laughed, tugging at his collar nervously. "But...you don't need to know how to dance to have fun." Yep. He was totally going to wing it.
Stormy Days | Wally & Summer
Summer watched Wally bend down to look at the base of the alter. Â He looked pale as he stood up again, asking if she wanted to head to Ecruteak. Â She wasnât sure she wanted to know what he had just looked at. Â Wally may be a skittish kid, but he seemed really shaken up. Â âOf course, itâs your vacation, I shouldnât be taking up anymore time than I already have.â Â She wandered back over to the door and peaked out to see if anyone, or thing, was out there.
"Looks good to me, lets go before we get chewed out by some guards or something." Â She peeled the tape caution tape away from the front entrance again to let Wally and his Pokemon out. Â Pichu strayed behind. Â He was still pretty distracted by whatever was written on the walls. Â He hobbled out after them and squeaked when the sun hit his eyes.
"Well at least itâs nice and sunny out now. Â Ecruteak is just a short walk away so letâs hop to it." Â Summer had already started walking before she even finished the sentence.
"U-uh, wait up!" He recalled Magneton and stumbled after her. His eyes were still getting adjusted to the light, but he managed to catch up to her. He was at least glad to leave. Whatever mysteries it held, it probably wasn't worth finding out.
As Ralts struggled to keep up, he lifted her and put her to sit on his shoulder. "Lucky. The weather's a lot better than earlier. At least it's not that far away." There was still a slight tremble in his voice. He cleared his throat and tried again. "So where do you want to go first?"  He wasn't sure how far they could get to the Bell Tower without a badge, but the Burned Tower was free for tourists. The Kimono Dance Theater was popular too; he suddenly pictured Pichu playing there, and couldn't help chuckling to himself.

She noticed the kid calming down. A good sign that he wouldnât die from being scared of her. âJeez, youâre such a pushover. I was so just trying to have some fun! And there you go, crying over pretty much nothingâŠâ
That described him pretty well. âS-sorry? I guess?â He guess heâd freaked out a bit much, but she didnât have to push it so far. He wasnât sure if he liked her at all.

Summer looked from the door to Wally and grinned. Â âWell apparently we can go further.â Â She squeezed herself into the crack and shoved against the door, after a few moments the sound of stone sliding against stone reverberated through the small room as she pushed it aside. Â She clapped the dust off her hands and gestured towards the new room.
"After you my magnetic friend." Â They entered the new room which, for all the work Summer put into opening that door, wasnât worth much. Â It was empty except for a single alter in the very middle of the room. Â Summer meandered around before examining the alter. Â She blew the dust away and frowned. Â Whatever was written on the stone was too worn away to read.
"You think thereâd be something else in here. Â Seems weird that after all that thereâd just be this lone alter in here." Â She put her hands on her hips and looked towards the ceiling pensively.Â
Wally glanced around the room. She was right, there really wasn't anything in there worth looking at. "It's weird," he agreed, "It doesn't seem like anyone's even been in here before." Even the walls were bare, no sign of the symbols from the previous room. The altar looked forlorn and empty in the middle as he walked up to it. Coming up closer, as Magneton followed behind him, he noticed a few objects close to the base of the altar. He squinted, making them out as a few scattered bones.
His hands shook, and he shrank back where Summer was standing. Ralts squealed at his reaction and grabbed his pants leg. "T-think it'd be a good time to head for Ecruteak?" He didn't know if those bones were Pokemon or human bones. He didn't want to know. He gazed up at the ceiling where she was looking; it was bare and shadowed, but he felt like something could jump down from it.
"Hey man, whatever you have to say just spit it out already!"
"UhmâŠIâŠI really like your butt!"Â
"No worries! I wasnât offended or anything, just kind of surprised. It was actually, like, a little flattering?" Nate said, laughing nervously immediately after the words left his mouth. Arceus, what a stupid thing to say. Now he was getting embarrassed again.
"A-anyway. Um. My nameâs Nate. ItâsâŠnice to meet you."Â
Wally hoped he wasnât making things too awkward. The whole situation was so embarrassing already. What an odd way to meet someone. âEr. S-same here. Iâm Wally.âÂ

"Forbidden huh?  Well, that seems like a good sign to me.  Means weâre in the right place."  Summer noticed that Wally didnât seem too stoked to be in here after reading that.  "Hey hey, no worries okay?  I can calm down any Pokemon with this Capture Styler so weâre good."  Although if there were a person down hereâŠ
She ran her hand along the wall, the door to the next room was only a vague outline. Â Pichu hobbled after her, a little spooked himself. Â As he was walking he noticed a rather strange looking stone. Â It wasnât the same color as the rest of them. Â He hopped on top of it and the sound of stone rubbing against stone was heard it sunk into the ground. Â Whatever it was, it was going on in the next room.
"Right on Pichu." Â Pichu squeaked more out of fear than appreciation. Â Summer nodded at Wally. Â "Alright, your choice. Â Do you want to inspect further or would you prefer to head to Ecruteak City?"
As Wally felt rumbling under his feet, he stepped back in surprise. He wasn't sure what could be ahead, and he'd be lying if he said he wasn't scared. Despite that, there was the slightest spark of curiosity towards what lay ahead. The fear blocked most of it, but it was still there.
"...Can we go any further?" he asked hesitantly, taking cautious steps forward. Magneton moved with him, throwing shadow on the outline of the door. It looked solidly set into the wall with no sign of opening. Unlike the rest of the wall, no symbols were inscribed into the stone, except for an odd shape slashed into the center that didn't resemble anything else in the room. He pushed on it weakly.
He yelled in shock as the door sank into the wall and moved slightly to the side, allowing a slight crack of darkness from the next chamber. Wally stepped back from it, his eyes wide and bewildered as they turned to look at Summer.
"Come on, you should SO spit it out."
"W-Will you bear my children?"
Lovrina sighed and crossed her arms, getting bored. âAlright, calm down. I was totally joking.â She tapped her foot impatiently, watching the boy keep going.
"I-I c-can make it up t-toâŠhuh?" It took a while for her words to reach him. "OhâŠ" He shrank miserably under her glare. This would probably be a good time to just leave.
"Hey man, whatever you have to say just spit it out already!"

Nate frowned at the way the guy was reacting. He seemed upset, which was the total opposite of what jokes were supposed to do to people. Nate wasnât really sure what was going on, but he felt bad that the other kid was so agitated.
"Hey, donât freak out. Everythingâs cool, okay? I was just trying toâ" he almost said "make things less awkward" but decided that probably wouldnât make the other boy feel better, "âbe funny."
"O-ohâŠ" Wally looked up at the boy, his face still red. "S-sorry for saying thatâŠthingâŠI didnât really mean to say it." His embarrassment faded just a little and he tried to smile, but his face couldnât quite make the movement.
"Come on, you should SO spit it out."
"W-Will you bear my children?"
This was almost too funny, even if she did feel a little bad for the kid. After all, she didnât even know who he was. But it was still funny. âIt surely seems like you mean it, are you just a bit flustered?â
Wally buried his head in his hands, trying to hide his face. "I - I really didn't mean it! It just s-slipped out!" He bit on his lower lip, hating his nervous stammer.Â

Summer folded her arms and nodded. Â Although she didnât necessarily strictly follow all the rules given to her, a do not enter sign was pretty self explanatory. Â âHmm, quite the conundrum. Â To break the law or not to break the law.â Â It only took her a few seconds to decide. Â âWeâll break the law, after all this is an active investigation and you could consider my law enforcement in the loosest sense I suppose.â
She watched Wally release his Ralts and nodded approvingly. Â âAw, I love Ralts. Â Theyâre so cute. Â And Gardevoir is so pretty.â Â He clasped her hands together thinking about it for a minute. Â She shook her head to bring her out of her stupor. Â âOkay, onward then!â Â Summer marched them over to the marked off ruins. Â She carefully peeled off the caution tape to let Wally, Ralts and Pichu through before coming in herself. Â She pressed the tape back in place and nodded.
"Theyâll never know." Â She turned around and noticed how dark it was. Â "Oh jeez. Â Does Ralts know any moves that can light this place up, or should we just walk in further until our eyes adjust?"
Wally patted around for a certain Pokeball and tossed it in front of them. "Ralts doesn't...but Magneton can." The Magnet Pokemon glanced around confusedly in the darkness, but it managed to focus its three eyes on its trainer. "Magneton, can you use Flash?" It buzzed, and with a few sparks, began to illuminate itself, filling the path ahead with enough light to see. Wally smiled and patted one of its heads as thanks.
As his eyes adjusted to the light, he blinked and looked around. The walls weren't made of the sandstone of its exterior, but smooth grey rock. Most of the wall was thrown into shadow, but the part closest to Magneton was inscribed with odd black symbols. Curious, he walked over and brushed his hand across them.
"These look a bit like words, don't they?" he murmured. As he ran his finger over the symbols, he tried to read through them. They looked like F...O...R...B...I...D...D... the 'text' on the next few letters had faded. He stood back from the wall, feeling slightly uneasy.Â

This was a confusing situation. Really confusing. May as well take advantage of it, though.
"Oh, I think you did mean~!â
"Ooooohhhh noooo itâs not- I didnât mean to say thatâŠ! ImeantididnâtmeanwhatimeantâŠ.!" The girl might have been joking, but in his shame, he failed to notice.

"See, I told you itâs fun! Â And soooo much faster than walking." Â Latias hit her super speed to finish the journey quickly; she descended and hovered just above the ground again to let them off. Â "Thanks Latias," Summer gave her head a few pats as she climbed off. Â "Iâll see you later then." Â Pichu slid off Latiasâ back and strummed his ukulele in thanks. Â Latias nodded at them before whipping back into the air.
Summer took off her goggled and placed them back on her head, turning around to face Wally. Â âAnd now youâve joined the ranks as one of the few people whoâve gotten to ride Latias.â Â She paused. Â âActually, it might only be us two, but that makes it even more special.â Â She spun around and to assess their surroundings.
They were in the middle of all the ruins, so there were a lot of exploring options. Â âDo you happen to know which particular spot these âdisappearing Pokemonâ disappear from?â Â It was probably on the radio, but Summer rarely listened since she was usually busy running errands.
"Yeah, you were right," he agreed, smiling sincerely at the Latias as thanks before she flew away. He looked around, searching for an indication of the blocked areas.
"Okay, it was the deeper parts of the Ruins, they said." The buildings were crudely made out of sandstone, but the stone 'doors' blocking them were covered in intricate symbols. The ruins close to the entrance had the doors moved aside to accommodate tourists. Further away had the same chambers, but larger, and thrown in shadow by trees and overhanging moss. The area was blocked off by criss crossing lines of CAUTION tape. A plastic "DO NOT ENTER" sign, in bold red text, was nailed on a pillar just outside of the tape.
"They only reported "deep in the ruins," but it looks like that's the place," he muttered, pointing toward the area. Just as he turned to look back at it, a chill crawled up his back and in his blood. Feeling anxious, he pulled out Ralts' Pokeball and sent her out. She murmured sleepily, but came up next to him, tugging on his pants. "Hey, Ralts. Help me keep an eye out?" Having her by his side settled him a little. He hoped Summer wouldn't mind too much.
"Come on, you should SO spit it out."

"Excuse me?!"
What was wrong with him today? "S-Sorry, miss! That just slipped - I mean, well I didn't mean-" Oh no.
