I don't know why some of the fandom, and even the official art/merch, insists that the only facial injury brightheart should be depicted with is a scar over her eye and a missing ear. Watch me make a Brightheart with realistic facial scars, watch me 😠
This took me like 15 minutes so ignore the quality but this is how I think she should look
been thinking about this a lot and it actually baffles me how many people shy away from drawing realistic mutations/injuries unless they're "cool". Ie I've seen plenty of 4 eared cats and virtually no cleft palate kitties.
Also thinking about how the books treat visibly disabled cats (brightheart, deadfoot, oneeye, briarlight) as though they are different while wild cat colonies usually have cats with missing limbs, eyes, etc. Rarely does a warrior get renamed for a missing ear. It feels like the Erins were just being ableist (they were).
Also people who tag Brightheart's healed scars as gore you are also ableist.
