helloooo so I wanted to let y’all know that I’m in my last few days of high school and life decided to send me out with a bang, stress wise, so everything has been coming at me and I have had no time nor energy to be on tumblr!! I’m graduating soon so hopefully I’ll be free enough to come on here in like two weeks, but until then thank you all for your continued patience, and sorry for my lack of activity!

The young Irishman takes the arm offered to him but winces, then quickly smears the mud on his face trying to wipe away the very brief frown. While one might think he’d take off as best he could given how he tried to pin the question on someone else, Finn followed along; though not without verbal protest. He always was a terrible liar.

Yes, he most definitely did. Well, maybe not as drastically as he’d put it but sitting down was definitely not an option at the moment. Likely wouldn’t be for a few days to weeks if he didn’t do anything about it. A light flush of pink had begun to stain his cheeks though it was likely difficult to tell with how dirty he was.
A GRIN splits over his face as hawkeye absently wondered if he could be a classified to have very slight tendencies of sadism —— the head surgeon was always one to love pulling pranks, or to love yanking on others’ chains. he gave another chuckle as they continued their slow pace to the OR, then waved his hand absently, as if describing something very normal.

HE COULDN’T help a bark of laughter at the way the man subtly asked the question. shaking his head good-naturedly, hawkeye offered the corporal his shoulder, so he could sling his arm over && they could make their way over to the operating room as he spoke.
❝ you can tell your buddy he doesn’t have to worry. —— despite the army’s best attempts, we’re actually very efficient at this hospital. ❞ the doctor gave a friendly, lopsided grin. ❝ plus, if he uses a coupon, I can even throw in an extra butt cheek. ❞
"pierce - good morning. martell called in and left a message for you. i'll read it to you, if you don't mind?" jura's grin was near impish as he looked at the other man. "hello, dr pierce. my brother is unwell so i will come in after his nurse arrives. this is nothing personal, so no need to write mean things in your diary." lowering the note, he raised an eyebrow. "do i /want/ to know?"
A ROGUISH smile found its way to his lips as the chief physician read aloud annabelle’s message. these younger doctors just got better && better at adapting to humor &&yanking chains. she definitely knew her audience —— though a few others may have mistakenly taken it as disrespect ( or ‘insubordination’ as the more stuck-up residents seemed to put it ), hawkeye loved it. humor got him through his days, && always had —— even in his darkest times. he could always appreciate &&respect a good jest or jab.
he raised a bony hand in response to Jura’s question, in some form of a shrug. ❝ probably not. let’s just say, ——❞ he gave a silly faux-pout, rubbing hands at his eyes dramatically as if he were crying, ❝ these interns are being mean to me. ❞

FINALLY, AS he now felt pacified, hawkeye’s usual lazy smile spread over his lips, kicking back, feet crossed, && taking a good sip of his martini. ❝ oh yeah —— how about this, you hire me as your personal interior designer && we hitchhike an oxcart out of this war? ❞ as often as he joked about deserting the war, even the surgeon himself couldn’t tell when he was kidding anymore. as he spoke his hand casually punctuated his words, ❝ no no, what you do is you get deep violet granite counters, with neon pink dining chairs, && a pastel green oven. sheesh, captain, it’s like you didn’t pay attention in the army decoration class! ❞

Eyes wander the letter again and soon roll within their sockets. B.J. can hear his friend’s voice now down to the exact tone he’d take before a sigh passes through his lips. “ What would you say in response to your spouse asking whether or not you’d prefer blue or yellow curtains in the kitchen. Floral print or plaid. The walls are white so let your imagination go wild. “
HE WAITS expectantly, almost eagerly, hunched over his martini, though in a determined, jaw-set way, for the question to come. while he spared little to no cares about things people usually deemed important in the army —— rank, army etiquette, punctuality —— hawkeye seemed to be strangely focused on the weirdest of things. not succumbing to predictability was one. being a regular flirt was another.
❝ easy! ❞ he says animatedly, casting a rather cocky grin at BJ. ❝ a deep rouge paisley patterns! —— weren’t expecting that one, were you! ❞
