Anytime I think of the One Punch scene I get so angry honestly like I can't even express it it makes me so mad and most of it comes down to just, How they treat Guy not just batman but everyone in the scene? I mean i dont remember the context for it 100% and like I get that Guy is being confrontational and it's not that he's (once again) the in-group antagonist that really bothers me, it's how the whole scene was treated?
Like Bats literally calls Guy "a mongrel" in that scene and I just had to stop typing for a minute bc the connotations of that word just leave me seething and I couldn't breathe for a sec. And then Bats, you csnt tell me he doesn't know Guy's history and that he's already been hospitalized for brain damage in the past so making the decision to go full force enough in one hit to Knock Guy Out just doesn't make sense to me?? Plus like What was the genuine motivation here? To shut him up? To prove a point? To establish his superiority/authority? Just plainly to show him up? What necessitated this action?
And like the whole thing is treated like a joke? Guy is unconscious on the floor in front of a group of teammates and there is no checking of vitals there isn't even a mention of hey that might've been a bit overkill, literally everyone is laughing or amused or smthn by this and like. I might be a tad bit off my rocker atm and I'm emotional in general but like how do you sit there and treat a teammate like that. And just literally leave him on the floor to wake up alone, thank gods he woke up at all?
I just really hate the writing of that specific scene and it just I hate when it gets referenced and joked about bc like it was unnecessary imo and I am just, mad

Learning that Duke’s style of hero-ing is “hit n run”ing bad guys while listening to death metal makes picking up a comic again worth it
the hit-and-run may be his signature move
