Fighting Negative Online Reputation
Even when you have a brand, the products and services for your company, all this will go to waste without the right reputation. This is why companies also need to focus on marketing their reputation, both online and offline.
When even just one person in your locality will think badly about your business, this will be equivalent to losing at least 5 other potential clients because of this bad rep that that one client could be spreading about your business. However, when it’s online, then you could lose even more as the grapevine of information around the internet is bigger and communication lines, faster. What’s more is that you are losing valuable clients who are not from the same city or country.
When someone wants to buy a certain product or service, what they do is to first do some research about it. They will go to their favorite search engine online and type in the name of the company or the brand. What these people want, what we all want, is to read something positive before we dip our fingers into that commodity.
If there isn’t anything positive, it’s either that there’s no information about the company or the product or they will find something negative instead. In these two scenarios, it would be even better if there won’t be anything about your business.
However, people will always want some proof about a company. They will want to read something positive no matter what. If there’s nothing to be seen about it, then there’s a big chance that the potential client will go look for competition instead.
One thing you have to be attentive to when doing online business are negative posts about you. This is the ruin of other businesses online. You have to be watchful of this type of post, especially on forums and review sites. These get a lot of visits from other people so it could be bad for you.
When you see these negative posts, it is imperative that you act on them immediately. The longer that you allow them to be unaddressed, the bigger the problem becomes.
In these cases, you can try to talk to the one who posted, or you can ask the administrator to take it down. To turn this into something positive, you will need to give them proof that your business is not bad and if you have an unsatisfied customer on your hands, you can try to offer them something in return for putting the comment down. You could also try other things to do, just to remove that negative post about you.
On the other hand, another thing that can be done is to hire experts in reputation management. There are many of these who offer their services to online businesses. They can reverse the bad reputation done to your brand through releasing positive articles and content, press releases and blogs and many more. These will push back your negative reviews so that others will see the positive ones about you on the search engines.
