☣–;;   Another chuckle. “Very well,” he murmured, smiling gently. “That works, as well.”

He took the small bot into the wash wracks and tucked him into the crook of one arm, so he could use his now-free hand to start filling the tub. Water should work just fine for this; Ratchet wasn’t sure they would need any solvent.

“All right. In you go.”

-when he saw the water running, he tried to wiggle out of his grip, he wanted to get in the water already! As soon as he could, he jumped into the tub and started to splash and swim around-

☣–;;   It took the medic a moment to realize that the youngling was waiting on his name. A chuckle escaped him before he reached up, to gently stroke the small child’s forehelm. He probably should have supplied that first now that he thought about it. Ah, well. 

“Ratchet,” he answered, amusement rumbling deep in his chest. “My designation is Ratchet, kiddo.”

-he leaned into the touch and purred happily while listening to the older mech- Raaaa.... Raaa Raaa -he is clearly having trouble with his name, as he often did with most names- Junior call you Ra Ra

-he continued to lick himself before hearing the word “bath”. He perked up, even his doorwings lifting in the air before barking happily at him and patting his chest and chanting in his own way- BATH BATH BATH BATH

☣–;;   Well. That was not the reaction he had been expecting. But. Ratchet wasn’t exactly one to look a gift horse in the mouth– whatever that human saying meant. So, he held the sparkling close to his chest and started towards the wash wracks. 

Chuckling, “A bath it is, then.”

BAAATH BATH BATH BATH -the mechling's doorwings wiggled happily as the other walked to off to the cleaning area. He spoke up, his voice not as loud but still, very happy- Junior like baths! Dank you.. uhhh.. 

-he realized he didn’t even know his name and he didn’t even know what to call him. He couldn’t call him the Bad Man, cause he wan’t bad! He just stares at him until the other said his own name-

☣–;;   There was a moment when Ratchet just stared, just looked down at the now-dirty sparkling. A quiet sigh escaped his lips, lips that curved into a gentle smile as the medic shook his head. One servo lifted, digits gently wiping at the energon on his chest.

“Well,” he said, chuckling, “now you need a bath, little one.”

☣–;;   Ratchet chuckled, bouncing the youngling gently in his arms. Now that he wasn’t being ferociously bitten, the medic would admit that the small mech was almost adorable. In a way, he reminded Ratchet of his own children. Perhaps that was why he wanted to take care of the mechling. Junior, he reminded himself. The child’s name was Junior.

“Here we are,” he said, and pushed the door open. Careful to not drop Junior, he reached for a small energon cube and offered it out to him. “I hope this is all right.”

-this mech wasn’t hurting him, unlike the others he had met that looked like him. The eyes were different, he was a lot nicer too, even after he had bitten him, just like his adoptive father.

The mechling gently took the cube from the medic and 

SPLAT 

face first into the energon cube. Energon is splattered all over the mechling and Ratchet. Once the cube is empty he starts to lick it off of himself-

☣–;;   The medic smiled gently, thumb stroking the youngling’s forehelm. He didn’t know exactly what the small bot had been through, but he could guess, based upon his reactions. It would do best if he followed his carrier protocol right now, instead of his usual grumpy attitude.

“Then we’ll get you some. Just don’t bite my helm again.” The last part was added with a chuckle as the pair turned, heading back towards the storage area.

-the mechling gave a chirp before leaning into the touch, the trembling in his frame fading as he grew more comfortable. In response to the comment, he said nothing but reached up and petted his face instead, showing that he understood him and wouldn’t bite him again, as the face pat is the sign that Junior likes you and won’t bite-

Nope, no more stopping him now. Gently, Ratchet pulls the small bot to his chest, letting him rest near his spark. He had always done this with his own sparklings when they had been scared or hurt. He could only hope this would help calm the youngling. 

“Are you hungry, then? I could get you a cube.”

-he flinched at the movement and closed his optics, but when he opened them, he saw he wasn’t hurt in away way. He still avoided eye contact at first but at the offer of energon he slowly looked up and his optics finally met his. His helm tilted, surprised to find that the look was friendly and not menacing or threatening- Dat.... nice...

☣–;;   “Nah, kiddo. I don’t hurt younglings.” Hesitantely, he brought the small bot– Junior?– closer to him, though he didn’t quite let their forms touch. Though his parental instincts wanted Ratchet to hug him close, the medic wasn’t sure that would be a good idea. Not right now. So instead, he simply shifted his view from the sparkling to the vent.

“…you crawled through the vent?” He wasn’t sure if he believed that or not. “How did you even find us?”

-at the movement, his frame shook more, scared of what he might do. But then again, he hasn’t hurt him yet, normally if someone wanted to hurt him he would have done it by now. He still couldn’t help but be scared- J-Junior smell food. Da blue stuff....

☣–;;   “Hey. Hey, stop that.” He shifted a bit, looking down at the small bot. His optics softened at the sight. Yes, this was definitely a youngling. Perhaps he should soften his voice, make himself seem safer. And so he did, his voice just a tad gentler than before. “You’re okay. You’re not going to be hurt. What are you doin’ here, kid?”

-the youngling’s only response was to hiss again, the flailing stopped but the trembling didn’t. The small mech avoided eye contact and didn’t really buy the last part- No... hurt Junior?

-his body still shook as he pointed to the vents- ... Junior come through da holes....

"He really is. Oh yes, I think he’d like that a lot!" He said nodding in agreement as he continued to caress his back with care. Now that he was thinking about it a cuddle with Smokescreen sounded very tempting at the moment. Especially if they all cuddled together, it’d be perfect. "Hmm I don’t think he’d pass up a cuddle if we asked him for one."

-he curls up against him more, wanting to get warm as possible. The mention of cuddles was perfect! He cooed up to him and giggled while nodding, he really wanted that now!- Cuddles! Cuddles!

Smiling even more Ash reached out and scooped Junior up into his strong arms, cradling him close to his chest as his little one hugged the plush. “She’s gonna love cuddling with you, cause you’re a fantastic cuddler! Just like your dad.” He gently pet the mechlings back and purred. His mind wandered to the sweetest of thoughts. Wondering about how both his children would be around each other.

-he is suddenly picked up as he’s still hugging the toy. He gently nuzzles his parent’s chassis and coos some more while thinking about what he said- Dad good at cuddles, Dad cuddle Starlight too? -he may or may not want dad cuddles now-

"Someone who you haven’t met quite yet." He began with a chuckle. "She hasn’t met you yet either but in a few months you’ll get to meet her." He was happy that he was very interested in the plush and that he was merely asking about her. "Her name is Starlight."

-he brings it back down and looks at it some more before gently hugging it. He wondered what he meant by that as he repeated the name to himself- Starlight...

*he continues to growl and tug the branch for a bit longer before finally letting Junior have it all for himself* Go ahead buddy, show that branch who’s boss. *he smiles and watches Junior for a bit before turning back to the tree and starts fixing the tangled lights*

-he keeps pulling and when he lets go, he falls over on his back. he can't really move much so he's just chewing on the stick in his jaws, looking around and hoping that Smoke would turn around to help him back up-

What had been pulled out from the torn wrapping and cardboard was another handmade plushie; like the one of Smokescreen he had hand-stitched for weeks. But this one was different. It had taken him weeks to design, to get the right colored fabrics and months to sew together each and every detail to make it as lifelike as possible. To make it perfect. This plush was smaller than the plush of his mate, softer to the touch and had features similar to his own. It was a little femme, small and delicate pretty to the eyes. Her armor was whiter than the purest snow, with black down her sides, legs, arms and shoulders and hands. Yellow streaked along the black on her frame and colored her chevrons and crest that brought out her face. Her optics were a lovely green and sparkled, almost as though there were stars glimmering in her eyes. Ashton had made her as he had seen her not too long ago, in the future. Though he had been having strange dreams that only gave him more insight to how detailed she had become. Looking at a lifelike replica he could see that there was a bit of Smokescreen in her, and seeing her-even though he couldn’t touch or hold her made him overjoyed with happiness. Perhaps it would have the same effect on Junior.

-he takes the plush in his hand servo and coos curiously, looking at it though he had no idea who this was. He keeps looking and squinting at it until he holds it up to him, not to take back but to show and ask- Who dis Mom?
