((What’s the most polite way to say I am against this headcanon? Not in a ‘you already have Birdo & Vivian’ sort of way, but I just think making a canonically bald girl trans sends the wrong message. A bald girl who doesn’t wear a wig is fighting an uphill battle against preconceived notions of gender; a bald guy who wants to become a girl, but doesn’t bother with a wig seems like he’s just making fun of the movement. Also, I would be against Roy being trans as I think he works much better as a man who was just born pink… I guess he could become a girl later but that’s neither here nor there. All the other Koopalings, and most characters in general I’m okay with (ask if you want details).

Probably the easiest (YMMV) Mario character to make trans would ironically be the girliest… I’m, of course, referring to Peach. She was raised by Toads who canonically don’t have genders according to Nintendo (so Toadette isn’t actually the lone female, she’s just the only female presenting Toad… her and Toadiko… and half the Toads of the real Paper Mario games…). Anyway, as literally the only human in the kingdom, she wouldn’t even be assigned a gender at birth, or if she was it wouldn’t have to do with her genitals because that is a foreign concept to the Toads. B-but in Partners in Time– yes, ‘girl’ was chosen by age one, how it was chosen would obviously be up to you to decide; or you could simply have that game and Baby Peach as a whole be no-canon to your blog… you all know how roleplaying works, don’t you?

Yeah, so anyway, that’s my opinion… take it or leave it.))

While it is my personal headcanon that Koopas are also a mostly genderless culture, I’m inclined to agree on these points. Namely that, in a context in which koopas are assigned genders, having Wendy be the trans girl requires a deft touch (which this specific author may well have). And also that Peach is definitely trans, whatever anatomy she has.

Hey I really don’t want to start debating on my blog, but as the artist I feel as if I should reply.

I understand where you are coming from with headcanoning Wendy as trans being seen as bad, which I sincerely apologize for. I am not a trans woman, and I saw others headcanoning Wendy as trans and kind of jumped on the bandwagon without giving it any critical thought. I understand what you mean and I am very sorry. If anyone who is a trans woman wants to put their word on this, I’m open to it.

I am a trans man though, and I also headcanon Roy as a trans man because I can relate to him. A big part of my experience as a trans guy was growing up distancing myself from any thing feminine, including the color pink, which really hurt me in the long run. I realised its not healthy for me to make myself hate things I like and now I wear the color pink a lot. I kind of headcanon that Roy went through the same things I did. You don’t have to agree, but that is my headcanon and perspective as a transgender man and its important to note that not ever trans person has the same experiences.

Also I agree with the trans peach headcanon! I made a mini comic a few months ago about that actually. I think it’s a really nice headcanon and makes sense with the Mario canon

However, I really want to say is that I wasn’t expecting any of my comics about mario characters being trans to be taken so seriously in the mario lore. Sometimes I don’t look too deep into how headcanons fit into lore and headcanon characters as trans because I relate to them. (I headcanon Roy and Lemmy as trans men because i am one too :’D ) Sometimes a headcanon is just a headcanon. I will be more careful about this all in the future though, and thank you so much for your input.

Speaking as a trans girl, myself, I think it’s okay to headcanon Wendy as a trans girl in general. It’s easy for her to fall into a a stereotype of trans women as masculine men over-performing femininity, and that makes me uncomfortable. But, her own less feminine traits, including her baldness, are fine on their own if that stereotype is avoided. Trans women are under no obligation to perform femininity in any specific way or to any specific degree, and given that SMB has four other trans women characters (three explicit, four if you include Peach), having Wendy as a trans girl doesn’t make a Statement about how trans girls are as a group.

Koopalings bio

Here are my bios for the Koopalings in my canon

Larry: He’s the youngest Koopaling of the family. He likes to do pranks and acting cool. He’s known to take over grass land. He loves playing video games all the time. He sometimes can get crazy at times but sometimes nice. His favorite sport he usually plays is tennis, and he wishes he was playable in Mario Tennis Aces. He also hangs out with his dad Bowser and the other Koopalings

Morton: He’s the second youngest Koopaling of the family. He’s usually a gentle giant but also pretty lazy at the same time. This is the reason why he’s fat. He’s the only Koopaling that is black. He doesn’t do any sports that much since he likes to watch tv and sometimes play with Pokey. He takes over desert land which this is why he’s friends with Pokey. He also loves eating food. At times he can get pretty gassy at some moment. Koopa’s are more gassier then humans BTW. He has a electric guitar and he’s good at making rock music. No wonder why Morton looks like Kiss.

Wendy: She’s the third youngest and the only female Koopaling of the family. She’s used to be bratty and spoiled when she was younger, but thanks to special treatments she’s more calm and smart. She usually likes to look at herself by doing beauty treatments like makeup, spa day when she’s stressed, or wearing clothes. Her favorite sport is swimming which is why she takes over water land. She has a huge crush on Kayden Koopa from how brave, handsome, and how powerful he is. One or her favorite beauty treatments is taking mud baths since it’s very good for her skin. She also loves to sing and play the flute. She would also go on dates with Kayden Koopa. She also is gassy like Morton but she would hide her farts in her baths. She also hangs out with her brothers and Bowser

Iggy: He’s the fourth youngest Koopaling of the family. He’s a crazy and smart one. He likes to do science experiments in the most whackiest way possible. He’s has a pet Chain chomp. He’s also the star of Kayden Koopa’s web series called the Angry Video Game Iggy. He likes playing video games too like Larry. He shares a room with his brother Lemmy since he loves to hang out with him a lot. He takes over the jungle and giant land.

Roy: He’s the third oldest Koopaling of the family. He’s the strongest Koopaling ever. He likes to work out and do a bunch of excercise. He hangs out with Bowser a lot. He wears his sunglasses because he wants to look cool and sexy. He takes over the sky.

Lemmy: He’s the second oldest Koopaling. He’s a playful and happy go lucky one. He likes to play with toys and bounce on his ball every day. He hangs out with his young brother Iggy since they get along easily. He wishes he was in the circus. He likes making pranks on others. He also hangs out with Bowser. he takes over Ice land.

Ludwig: He’s the oldest Koopaling of all. He’s very smart, suspicious, and a great musician. He likes to play his piano all the time. He plays with his magic and reads books all the time. He can be sinister at times but he likes his good family.
