It's nuts how common it is to not allow children to be angry, even (especially) in households where adults are angry all the time. As a child I knew my own anger was unacceptable--not just expressing it outwardly but feeling it at all. So now as an adult my immediate reaction to my own anger is often to feel guilt instead of like. Noticing when someone is being rude or unfair or my boundaries are being violated or whatever. fucked up.
also I don't think parents "these days" are uniquely terrible, I just think neglect is showing up in new ways as technology progresses. today's ipad kid would've been wandering around in a ditch alone all day and night before. parents not wanting to have to deal with children is not a new phenomenon.
I listened to this radio show about scientists who found vole bones in a Stone Age era cave, and they wanted to know if early humans had eaten them, so they got a volunteer to swallow an entire boiled vole without chewing, so that they could analyze the bones afterward and see if human digestive acid caused damage they could match. anyway, this poor volunteer shat out the digested vole, they looked at the bones, and it was not a match. ancient humans did not eat that particular old dead vole. really glad that they made someone swallow a vole like an owl though, there’s no way one of those goes down like an Advil. and boiled?? yeghhhh
Lady in drive through had a bearded dragon sitting on her boobs and she held it up and let me pet it. killing myself canceled

we’re so lucky that gilgamesh survived and is a banger. can you imagine if we found the oldest written human story ever recorded and it sucked balls.
PARENT: I got "rubber duck" for my child's "bath" and she loves it.
AUTISM RESPONSE: Rubber ducks and other rubber bath toys can accumulate mold on the inside because of small holes underneath where moisture becomes trapped. The mold often goes unnoticed because it's not visible from the outside.
CORRECT RESPONSE(?): That's nice, I am unaware of how mold could impact this situation.
everyone wants masc carpenter trade until his rough calloused handjob sands your thing down small and smooth as a river stone
Something happened here...
i kinda love this response. just try reading my comment in a nicer voice and you'll feel better
was waiting for the elevator in the middle of taking out all the trash and a resident came out of her apartment like OH GOOD! maybe i can show you this weird bug that was in my BEDROOM! so i follow her and she gets out a magnifying glass and shows me a dead pillbug on a napkin. im like thats incredible ma'am thank you for letting me use the magnifying glass. she says "i told my creepy kids about the bug and they didn't even call me!" and this sentence is tunneling into my brain so bad theres a physical pressure
