Here's the pre-wrap process. 

Materials I used include:

Fosshape

Worbla

Paper (rings for the horns)

Expanding Foam

Plaster

Foam Putty

Craft Foam

Saran Wrap

Masking Tape

Maleficent ring I made for my cosplay. 3d printed skull sanded amd hand-painted by yours truly. The base was made from worbla

Maleficent Ring:

Step 1: Have boyfriend 3d print you a skull at work

Step 2: Sand and prime!

Step 3: Paint it to look like something

Step 4: Hot glue it together andddd…. Presto! 

I went and gave the worbla ring highlights and added a few last details to the skull. Gave a good handful of sealant coats and she was good to go! It was the first thing out of my whole costume that I had completed and I didn’t make it until almost two months after starting Maleficent. Haha. It was oh so satisfying.

The making of my Maleficent wings, Part 1. First thing I did was draw a large life sized layout of how I wanted the feathers to be placed and shaped. From there I drew and cut out each individual paper feather and labeled them into group. (My boyfriend helped a little with cutting :]) There are over 50 feathers on the inside of one wing alone.  

After that I cut out the largest feather in foam and played around with different scoring, cutting, and sanding techniques that I wanted to apply to all the feathers. This way I figured out what worked and what didnt! Experimenting! muhaha!
