Eridians are further behind than humans technologically right? They dont have computers, relativity, quantum mechanics, etc. In fact, Eridians probably dont even know about the Big Bang because their atmosphere would filter out most of the cosmic microwave background radiation we use to detect it. On a human timeline, theyre anywhere between like early-mid 20th century. Rocky's basically a cosmonaut.

So the human civilization is pretty advanced from Rocky's perspective. Rationally he understands this. On a conceptual level he knows this to be true.

But at the same time... imagine youre one of the first ever cosmonauts to make it into space. Then you meet a 10 year old alien dog who cant do 2+2 without pulling out its calculator. It forgets everything constantly and has to keep notes everywhere, like it basically lives in Memento (2000). Also if it doesnt nap constantly it gets even stupider. And you somehow has to reconcile this with the fact that this dog has a better understanding of physics than your entire civilization does. Like the dog knows how the universe started.

This isnt better from Grace's perspective btw. Eridians never developed computers, so all their ship systems are steered using basically the manual labor of 24 Eridians. Also theres no radiation shielding on their ship. Actually im pretty sure half the reason why Rocky is always busy fixing shit is because the radiation keeps frying all the onboard electronics, so hes always building and fixing and replacing components

Like imagine being a modern day sailor navigating the Pacific with GPS and strong hulls to protect against the raging ocean. And from portside you see like an honest to god viking ship. Except its made of some high tech carbon fiber material. But like, its still very definitely a viking ship. You can clearly see there's 24 oars along the hull where sailors are supposed to use to manually row their ship. Also the ship is leaking and theres like one little dude on board whos skittering around patching the holes constantly. Also this little dude is blind and doesnt know about water. Thats how insane Eridians look being an interstellar species without computers or radiation shielding.

Both of them thinks the other one is the completely ridiculous and absurd one and theyre both totally amazed at how far the other has come in spite of it

If you care about Animal Cruelty in Factory Farms, you need to get legislation passed. It must become a crime to mistreat animals in those ways, and when malfeasances occurs, the onus of responsibility for those crimes must fall upon wealthy shoulders. That, also, requires legislation. It requires regulations, and regulators.

The largest source of Microplastics is wear and tear on automobile tires. It doesn’t matter what brand of shampoo you buy. It doesn’t matter which company you support with your dollar. The issue of Public Transit is too large-scale to be handled at anything less than the municipal level.

It’s not enough to just not participate in society

If you want the world to Change, you must leverage the mechanisms of political power.

You need Government.

Crocodile and Law with an S/O who likes to cuddle up in their coats

Crocodile

. The first time Crocodile walks in to find his S/O wrapped up in his coat, eyes closed and snoring softly he doesnt know what to think.

. Along with his Hook and the scar across his face that coat is one of the things that identifies Crocodile for who he is.

. So seeing someone else wear it, even someone he has a romantic connection to, is a little jarring.

. And hes not really sure what to do about it? It’s not like he can wake them up and take it back - that would show hes not comfortable with it. He can’t have that.

. So in the end he will leave them. Watching them until they wake, stretching and yawning as the coat falls from around them.

. The more frequently it happens though he more used to it he becomes.

. He even starts to like the look of it wrapped around their body. The way it envelops them.

. Sometimes his S/O will come to him while he is still wearing the coat and nestle themselves inside, pressed against him.

. “Tch, you’re bothering me,” he will tell them as they squirm to get comfortable, but he wont make them go.

. If anyone happens to spot his S/O snuggled up in his coat with him he will fix them with an icy stare until they stop looking.

Law

. When Law finds his S/O lying on the bed with his coat draped over him he smirks.

. He notes the way they have it pulled up to their chin so only their head is visible and even then they are snuggled in to his collar.

. Their hands curled around the fabric even in sleep.

. Not wanting to wake them he will take a seat at his desk and work until he hears them stirring behind him.

. “L-law?” They ask, waking to find his dark eyes on them, an amused smirk on his face. His S/O will blush at being caught napping under his coat.

. “Hm, did you miss me that much Name-ya?”

. Law minds more when they try to get in his coat while he is still in it.

. Sometimes in cold areas his S/O will come up to him while on the deck of the sub and wriggle their way inside, poking their head up to peek out above the zipper.

. He feels ridiculous when this happens, but he cant quite bring himself to force them out again. Enjoying the feel of their warm body against his.

. The crew all find this adorable/hilarious.
