"Gods. You are delightful, my darling."
Astarion whispers against Amara's bleeding neck. He keeps his lips pressed to the rapid pulse, which still insists on pumping out more blood than he should take for the night. "Mmmm.. Truly delicious."
"Nnngh. Mmm. Astarion.." She shivers under the vampire's weight, one of her hands grabbing a tight fistful of his blouse at his ribs. He smiles even if she cannot see and kisses her neck all over, making sure the wounds close and she lives to feed him another night.
Astarion begins to retreat but finds Amara's grasp relentless. And, to his surprise, part of him doesn't want to leave her warmth either.
She's been shaking and shivering the whole time, grabbing at him, letting out small noises of delight. He knows she is enjoying it. He knows she is exactly where he wants her to be. If he keeps this up, Amara will fall in love with him. And then, she will never betray him.
If he does a good job, no matter what Cazador promises her, she will stay by his side and protect him.
"My name sounds beautiful when it's whispered so sweetly on your lips." He remarks, lifting his face from her neck to gaze down at her. He keeps her gaze captive, letting her explore every line and freckle of his red irises. "Say it again."
"Astarion. You are beautiful." She says, and to his surprise, the devotion in her voice makes him feel truly beautiful.
"Observant." He answers. There is an intense tension between them that is making him feel a bit out of place. Which is odd, honestly, because he's been seeking this exact situation since the moment he decided to keep her. Something in his gut tells him that this isn't right, something isn't right. It clashes with what he is, of course. Astarion has been manipulating people for two centuries. Why is one more of them making him feel such a heavy load in his belly?
