hey there, i’m Rory! they/he, late 20s, autistic, just a little guy. ERRA fan first, human second. mostly into wrestling, metal music, a few video games, and cats. lots of cats. (i have the tag #my cats if you’re curious about my babies!) also enjoy this shitty phone edit of a photo from my ERRA concert.
✨THE BASICS:
my usual text post tag is #rory.txt, and if you need me, @ me or come into my asks!
this is a pro-rpf blog so if that bothers you, this may not be the place for you. i will reblog my friends’ fanfic, under the #fic tag, usually.
i try to tag what i can, especially flashing gifs, spiders, blood, choking, and gradient text (should i reblog it at all, i try not to due to inaccessibility). i am human and will miss things, but if i reblog something harmful, please let me know!
if you also have a snake phobia, this is a very safe blog for you! i have a pretty bad phobia of snakes, so you will never find a snake post here.
let’s get to the fun parts. click through to continue!
✨THE WRESTLING:
i mostly watch aew, some indies, and new japan. i do not tag promotions, because i can never keep track. i don’t keep up with wrestling as of the time i’m typing this, but that may change. my liveblog tag is usually #(promotion) lb. i do not watch wwe.
a few of my favorites: kenny omega, MCMG (as a tag team and sabin/shelley individually), speedball mike bailey, abadon, nyla rose, chuck taylor (who i miss dearly), brody king, willow nightingale, and kris statlander.
✨THE MUSIC:
metalhead. tragically emo. it’s not a phase, MOM! *cringe*
some favorites of mine include: ERRA, bad omens, yellowcard, ghost atlas, silverstein, bayside, UNWELL, beartooth, tonight alive, hevenshe, the maine, citizen, dayseeker, holding absence, the devil wears prada, polaris, currents, i see stars, bilmuri, thousand below, the funeral portrait, spiritbox… i could go on.
if you’re interested in my go-to spotify playlist, i’ll link that here. it’s a mess. i love it.
✨THE ART:
i am an artist of many different media! i mostly crochet and paint, but i really like printmaking and knitting too. i have a set of original characters called Funky Punkies, and i love talking about them and showing them off. feel free to ask about them!
my usual tag for my art is #my art. creative, i know. but it’s easy to find! i think i also have #my crochet.
✨THE BOTTOM LINE:
if you wanna know anything more, just ask! i’m pretty open. also, i do post often about my mental health and physical health and the struggles that come along with my conditions. i am very open about having mental illness, chronic illness, and being disabled. these are very big parts of who i am, so i will not hide them.
✨BONUS:
if you read this far….. have a reward. here are my cats :) from left to right: Freddie (snowshoe), Ricky (orange), and Skye (black longhair) 💖 my kitties are my life.
my family also has two dogs, Stella (left) and Ozzy (right)!
maybe you did do something wrong. maybe you hurt someone. maybe you have said awful things. maybe you were just as bad as them. maybe. but what matters is that you move on. you have to try. you have to wake up and be kinder. you have to learn and listen and grow. maybe you did do something wrong but that doesn't mean you have to keep doing that. as long as you are alive, you can change
if you experience any disability or neurodivergency please fill out this form. it is equally important to me to have data that says progesterone doesn't affect autism or testosterone doesn't make you hard of hearing or whatever, as it is to document changes. so if you have any health condition. please fill it out. even if it to say "no change". i am begging you all.
and if you can't. please. please do reblog. i need this to be as big as humanly possible. it is the best way forwards to inform decisions.

This is why I have created the Trans and Disabled database! Based of self-reporting across the world. If you want to self-report or access the database, email me an [email protected]. For reports I need your HRT + condition + changes if any". /End ID]
Estrogen is linked to autoimmune issues (why they primarily affect cis women in the research) so I'm curious to see if that's reflected in this research
there are no hard rules for human interaction but honestly i think everyone online would benefit hugely from operating under the assumption that, unless you have been given a specific reason to think otherwise in discrete instances, internet strangers do not want to be approached with:
your trauma, illnesses, or deep-rooted self worth issues
any come-ons or sexual content
over-familiar playful rudeness
information about your dnd characters/ocs
disagreements with their harmless subjective opinions
if it is your first time speaking with someone i can not highly enough recommend that these do not be your opening topics
something that has happened enough that it’s officially a Pattern of internet behavior: i will make a tweet that’s like, a jokey headcanon about a piece of media, and then someone i’ve never spoken to before in my life will come into the replies to try and offer a directly contradictory and actively depressing take. and either within their initial reply, or once i’ve expressed polite disagreement, they’ll make sure i know that the reason they have this headcanon is because they’re projecting their own trauma or self worth issues onto a fictional character.
and the thing that really gets me about this is that i am like 90% sure these people don’t have any ill intentions or even think they’re particularly overstepping. but i just can not fathom what the intended response to these things. i have NO idea what sort of reaction they’re looking for. it’s such a weird and uncomfortable spot to be put in. it’s a great way to get instantly put on my mental list of people to never engage with in the future
We’ve all heard the “I like pancakes” / “Oh, so you hate waffles?” example of a social media exchange, but we don’t talk enough about how “I like pancakes” / “I can’t eat pancakes anymore since my brother choked to death on one before my eyes” is not a great approach either.
#i actually dont agree with the majority of this post#the internet is a public space#when you make a post everyone has the ability to see it and respond to it#and can respond however they choose#you can dislike the replies you get to you post but i dont think its fair to say that everyone who responds is doing something wrong#i know op wont read these tags does that mean im also violating these imaginary boundaries#obviously not because im not putting these here to start a conversation with op#these are my comments on my own blog#which is also public so anyone can see my response#popular tumblr users have a really weird idea of how people are ‘supposed’ to use the internet#maybe just stop scrolling through your notifications and reading peoples comments if it bothers you
Listen. Having the ability to see and respond to something doesn’t mean that any concept of etiquette should go out the window.
A. When you walk down the street you are also in a public space where anyone can see you and talk to you. This doesn’t mean you should have to deal with sexual harassment, trauma dumping, or other rude behavior from strangers. You can respond to the post, but you are still responding to a human, even if you’ve decided they’re too popular to notice your response. If you wouldn’t behave that way to someone’s face, it’s probably a good idea not to do it online. A lot of people take the relative anonymity of the internet as an excuse to be shittier than they’re comfortable with being IRL.
B. To reiterate, “popular tumblr users” are people. They are not brands, and most of them are not being paid to produce content. They think and feel and want to have fun interactions with people online, without being bombarded by the kind of shit OP described, just like the rest of us. Like it sucks that they should miss out on notifications about the fun parts of being online because their notifications are full of people who feel entitled to be dicks.
C. Something that happens on tumblr in particular is that you can be an average user and just happen to have one or two posts that get popular, and people assume that you’re too big of a blogger to possibly see their unhinged tirade show up in your notes.
It’s honestly wild that people get offended at the idea that they should respect other people’s humanity and observe basic boundaries when interacting with strangers.
The OP’s list covers a bunch of things we don’t do in public spaces because they’re public spaces and we’re around strangers who don’t want to hear it.
Trauma/illness/etc. and sex are deeply personal subjects that many people prefer to only engage with in private, with people they feel safe with. Playful rudeness and criticism can really easily cause hurt feelings and so again, people often prefer to keep this to relationships with people they already feel safe and comfortable with. Listening to someone talk about something that interests only them is a timesink and something people do for people they want to sink time into. In summary the list consists of things that many people only want to talk about with their friends, not with strangers.
Obligatory disclaimer that all of this will vary from person to person, and some people will feel completely differently, and that’s not something that needs to be criticised. But it’s broadly true of enough people that you can safely start off interactions with internet strangers by assuming that their answer to “Would you like to hear about my trauma/sexual experiences or be insulted/criticised?” would be “No thanks, we are not that friendly yet.”
if you're having trouble sleeping the best you can do is put a bright object close to your face and look at it for at least 30 minutes. if that doesn't work you can close your eyes but make sure to think really hard about a bunch of bullshit
