Sapphire blues looked over the city of Vega from his position on the Agritower, raven feathers fluttering slightly in the breeze where they rested against the Seraph’s frame. Early mornings like this were one of the few times he could allow his wings to show without worry of the humans seeing him. Michael and Alex where the only ones who knew he was an angel, silent guardian and Michael’s eyes and ears in the city.

With as still as Castiel sat, one could almost confuse him for a statue, legs crossed beneath him, hands resting palms up on his knees. Meditation, it seemed, help calm his mind, his worries. Concern for the citizens of the city, for young Alex Lannon... and for Michael. Their safety was always at the forefront of his mind, though Michael had assured him on numerous occasions that it wasn’t needed. Words Castiel’s mind chose to ignore. One would always worry for those they cared about.

 Footfalls reached his ears, someone making their way towards him. With a subtle roll of his shoulders, Castiel’s wings slipped from view just as the sound rounded the corner.  ❝ Hello, ❞ he said softly, slowly bringing himself back to his feet, turning to look at them, head canted to the side.
