for me, this has been a very sentimental year for yes so far. coming back into the community randomly and meeting all these new people and revisiting all this music kind of got me to process the grief i felt from 2015 that i pushed down (since that’s a weird ass thing for a west african girl to be upset about 💀). it really felt like losing a sort of father figure, especially since my relationship with my parents had mostly deteriorated by then and i didn’t have many people to look up to

before i even knew who the members of yes were i knew whoever the bass player was was the absolute goat LMAO, he was a very big influence on the way i played and wrote for the low end and i have him to thank for the musicianship i have today

so thank you chris :) happy birthday
