I read and I write. I tell artists their works are wonderful. And I will continue to do so.

Fanworks are self-expression and fantasies. They are not related to authors' moral codes and judgement in any form. You can be into fictional problematic characters, fictional complex ships, fictional dark twisted incestuous drama, at the same time remain a mentally healthy decent person. I didn't think this needed to be addressed until I saw authors insulted on all platforms especially social medias. Attacking an artist for what they write or draw does not help reduce real life exploitation. Instead that was direct harassment to content creators, aka REAL PEOPLE. It's jarring those homophobic misogynists can't even tell differences between fiction and reality. Fanfiction authors had nothing to do with current problems the society itself produced. If you see a crime, report it. If you are aware of discrimination, call upon the people who should be responsible for it. Stop shaming fanfiction writers, artists and fans for their sexuality and theoretical fetishes. Fanfiction is scrapped without consent. Fanart is stolen by obnoxious ai companies that charge people for crap they didn't invent. In some Asian countries, writing lgbtq+ could send someone to jail. Creating is not celebrated, not encouraged. It is suppressed. Fans still create. Out of joy and passion. Share arts with your friends. Show support for creators you admire. And please continue to do so.
