people in the notes are pointing out that the company brags that it pays these women a “living wage” as determined by government standards. meanwhile they’re selling $200 sweaters & $100 tote bags. this stinks right down to the prisoner profiles; you don’t describe a grown adult woman as “curious & observant by nature” like she’s a fucking chimpanzee. there are plenty of programs that have managed to advocate for women in prison without profiting from their incarceration. people in the notes are really buying this bullshit sales gimmick too!
