i really hate that i’m making this post, but i’m going to be putting both gum and kiri on an INDEFINITE HIATUS. i’m not sure when i will come back here, if i will, but as of late, i have lost complete muse for them on here. i can’t see myself getting to drafts or even doing anything and i simply feel exhausted just thinking about it. all of my blogs are being put on a hiatus, though i’m thinking of making one that’s low stress and activity, but that’ll be something for me to still think about.

another thing i’ve been talking with ben about is basically gum’s accommodations. his apartment before he becomes a hero is pretty expensive because he needs it to be big to fit him. standard ceiling height is about about 8 feet 8 inches in japan so dai doesn’t need that really changed, but he needed doorways that he could at least duck under because i’ve got him at a whopping 8′4″ (254 cm). so that custom made added a lot to his rent, his bedroom is taken up completely by the bed he needed shipped from another country because alaskan kings need to be specially ordered, he has to have a spare room just to change in and he can’t hang anything without it touching or dragging on the ground. he hits his head on light fixtures if they’re not embedded lights on the ceiling and he smacks into fans all the time. his bath isn’t big enough for him in the apartment either and that custom job is way too much for him to even think about paying. so he has to go to the public baths 5-6 days a week and has to basically sponge bathe himself when he doesn’t go. the upsides to going to the bath is that everyone there knows him and likes him, he’s made a lot of friends there, and the big baths are just so nice he can relax.

after he becomes a hero, though, he’s offered by a company to have a custom apartment made for him. it takes close to half a year, but when he gets it, it’s a huge change from his studio apartment to a loft. he has only one floor but the ceiling is vaulted at 12 feet, giving him more than enough room. his bedroom is enormous and can fit the alaskan king comfortably and give him more than enough room to move around as well. he’s got a couple spare rooms too for whatever he needs, though he doesn’t use them all too much. and his bathroom is enormous as well with a tub that could easily fit him and someone else with room to spare. it was a toll on his pocket after it was done, but the price was reasonable and he got a good discount working as a hero that brought the price down so much so he wasn’t completely broke after. and the best part is he doesn’t have to duck under doorways anymore and it makes him so happy.

dai, after showing toshi his alaskan king bed (which takes up the ENTIRE BEDROOM): i told you i have a big bed toshi: i    didn't quite believe u? like i was sure u had to have a big bed bc ur so tall but. thsi. is literally a room of bed. dai, bright red: it's either this or i put the bed in the living room and lose more than half of that space

toshi: where? are your clothes??? dai, crying: in the spare roo-hoo-hoooom

         seeing as the man decided to go so familiar, he thought it only fair that he do the same. “ then i hope you don’t mind me calling you TOSHINORI. ” though the man had already said it was fine. thinking about how their dinner would happen, daisuke shrugged a shoulder. “ it might be easier for you to come to mine. i’ve got all of the utensils i need, but if you do still want to get ingredients, we can shop together and talk about what you want to eat. ”

            he barely felt the kicks as he absorbed each and every impact, storing up for the possibility if the man did get loose and he needed to defend himself. but the other’s hands were kept firmly within him and he wasn’t about to let go anytime soon. grabbing him by the scruff of his clothing only seemed to irritate him, but that was a victory he would take with silence. ❝ you’d have to actually escape to be able to do that. right now, i don’t see that happening. ❞ maybe he could get a little taunt in. this guy really was something else. fatgum started walking through the alley to try and find a more secluded road for them to walk down, wanting to keep him away from the public and children assuming that the man wouldn’t shut up.

oh, maybe he shouldn’t have tried to relate like that. it only seemed to make her more upset and uneasy, completely opposite to what he had hoped for. though fatgum thought he was good with children, perhaps that was just in short bursts, not long slots of time. but he would learn from the mistake and not mention anything like that alter on. listening to her reason, he nodded his head slightly. “ you were in a situation that made you feel like that... but here, you don’t need to worry. i won’t let anything happen to you. i know it’s easier said than done, but you can trust me and relax. ”

     Different questions appeared his mind, none of them clear or understandable, even to him. His excitement and enthusiasm made everything a mess in his head. Tetsu’s fascinated with how people use their quirks [ his own quirk being hard to use in anything other then hand to hand combat ] He liked learning about other people’s quirk and how hard they trained for it to reach their current strength. Most times he didn’t even remember them for long but the excitement’s always there, especially with pro’s.

“ SO LIKE, KARMA? YOU MUST OF TRAINED A LOT TO LEARN THESE THINGS ABOUT YOUR QUIRK HUH? ”

       “ Yeah, I had to train hard and be forced into a lot of different situations just to find out what I’m capable of. For a lot of my life, I didn’t even know I had a quirk. ” Anyone he had gone to U.A. with had known this fact, and some of the other professional heroes knew it as well. He didn’t know he had a quirk until his first day there.

        “ When I finally found out I did, it was in my teens and I had less time getting to know my quirk than most people get. ”

She wasn’t expecting him to be so kind? Sure, he was a hero and that kindness came with the job ( usually ) but they’d only met a handful of times. She was rarely in the city of her hero work so it was something big for him to be offering to help her like this. 

Yellow eyes focused on his face as he spoke, lighting up a little when he offered to help her, regardless. Her body swaying excitedly as she nodded, before her attention was drawn back to her notebook. Writing something down quickly. 

‘ I just … want to help people. I used to rescue but … I can still do that, I think. It’s just … different, now. But I can’t just sit around feeling sorry for myself anymore. I wanna do something useful, again … you know? I’m not a hero anymore but … I wanna help. That’s what even drew me to being a hero in the first place. ’

The difference between her somber appearance when she thought about her lost quirk to the joy she had when thinking of helping people was of great contrast. The desire she had to be of use to others was something Fatgum thought most heroes should have in some way, shape, and form. So few really had that spark, and reading what she wanted to say only deepened that notion he had of her.

“ You may not be a licensed hero, but you can still be a hero to others. You should look for a job you feel most comfortable with and stick to it. Make it a career and a life choice so you can show yourself how serious you are about it. ”

       messing with heroes was a dangerous game to play. some of them reacted violently to being insulted and others brushed it off. it was like russian roulette, you didn’t know where the bullet was. “then we’re at an impassé,” his hands slid nonchalantly into the pockets of the torn black jacket. he wasn’t letting the little marshmallow hero out of his sights. 

        “ then i suppose i should just leave. ” not that he wanted to. this man was up to something and if he let him out of his sight and someone got hurt, then he would regret it. but there was nothing he could do without a move being made from the other side. so he turned and walked out of the alley, keeping his awareness and guard up to see if the man was going to keep following him like he had.

She’s never actually written down her frequencies, though she recalls something Present Mic had told her, and decides to go with that. Better than NOTHING, after all. ❝ I can’t emit anything lower than 50DdB, though I can pick up on frequencies below that still. I can put out maybe… 105DdB without damaging my hearing. That’s all estimates, though. ❞

           ❝ Sorry if they’re strange questions. ❞ All he knew about when it came to sound emitting quirks was what he learned from Present Mic. And since the man was mostly good at increasing the voice, there were questions and inquiries he had that the man wouldn’t be able to answer. ❝ Or difficult. Yours is a quirk not easy toc ome by. ❞
