Part two：Pierrot&Harlequin

Pierrot: He has always been kind to people, which may be related to the protection of his parents since he was a child. However, it's really cute that such a gentle personality fell in love at first sight because of mc's help. And even if he disobeys Jester and Ticket-taker, two circus leaders, he still has to protect mc. He is really like a puppy. The key is that he can't speak in front of outsiders but is willing to speak in front of mc. But now Pierrot has clearly expressed his feelings to mc, so in the later stage, I think he will only like mc more and more, and give all his preferences to mc (oh, maybe a little inconspicuous forced love? 😋)

Harlequin: There is a trace of sincerity mixed in the ten jokes, but because there were too many jokes made before, even a trace of sincerity was not believed by mc. He felt that it was just a flirtation. Even if he was already anxious in his heart, he was still indifferent on the surface. I think Harlequin was really like a kitten. If he really realized that he had completely fallen into mc in the later stage, he might even disappear because of the uncertainty of uncertainty. When I was in a daze today, I suddenly thought of some cute points of the circus members being attacked! I really want to share it with you! （I will explain it in two posts, otherwise it will be too much.）^ ^

Part one：Ticket-taker&Doctor&Jester

Ticket-taker：In the previous questions and answers, we can see that Ticket-taker is the first very orderly person. He not only wants others to keep order, but also his own requirements for himself must be very strict. This leads to if he finds that he likes mc, he will deny this emotion at the first time, because it is a "disorderly" expression, which breaks his long-term life. Sensibility and rationality will keep fighting in his mind, but in the end, sensibility must prevail. The emotion called "love" envelops him. On the surface, the wind is calm, but in fact, the heart has completely fallen.

Doctor: Doctor was keen on experiments and showed a strong interest in mc from the beginning, so if he liked mc, he didn't even realize at first that it was "like" or thought it was due to his interest in the experimental body. It was not until he found that he began to care about mc's injury and couldn't bear to see mc become like his other puppets that he realized that he liked mc. (I feel that Doctor is really innocent. He is the second oldest in the circus, but surprisingly, he is a novice in terms of feelings.)

Jester: He is young, but he still manages the circus in an orderly manner. He hates human beings. It is difficult for Jester to be beaten. If he realizes that he likes mc, I think his first reaction may be "interesting, I will actually have this kind of emotion to a human being", but he will never fully expose this emotion, because he will not allow the word "out of control" to happen to himself. He will firmly grasp the initiative in his own hands and be the emotional master. The traction rope will always be in his hands. MC has nowhere to escape and can only be controlled by Jester. (After all, Jester likes to read Sun Tzu's Art of War, and he has the ability to control people's hearts, so what's the difference between Jester and the master? 😋)

I was planning originally to post this sentiment on just TikTok or such since I think that’s the source of this constant headache, but it might be a good idea to put this here as well since I fear it needs repeating:

For those who follow me and my videos on YouTube and on TikTok, please remember that The Freak Circus is not a game or media meant to be played by anyone under the age of 18.

It features dark, sensitive and graphic content that is meant for an adult audience.

Myself, Neko and the entirety of the TFC team are incredibly uncomfortable that there are people under the age of 18 interacting with the game and fandom, especially when we’ve taken a great amount of care to properly tag and label things across the board— its labeled as such on itchio, the official blog is clearly labeled as well with no room for misinterpretation:

The Freak Circus is not meant for anyone under the age of 18.

We are also not the parents of other people’s children, and are not responsible nor obligated to witch hunt every single minor that posts in the TFC tag or comments somewhere. I have become incredibly wary to interact with people who do not have a posted age (though people can and do lie on the internet, I’m quite aware of that) largely because there are many people who just don’t respect that boundary.

(There are a lot of fans who don’t respect many boundaries, but that’s a separate issue and one that I can ignore a lot easier.)

There’s very little an adult creator can do to restrict access to their adult-but-not-explicit media without also risking their media to be blacklisted, banned, restricted to those who show government IDs, ect. Even if someone is an adult, they should never be forced to show their photo ID to a company or to a government in order to access the internet or to interact with a piece of media, and it’s the biggest reason I use tags instead of labels to try and find a responsible but aware balance with who can see and access my content.

For context, the whole TFC team grew up and were fundamentally part of an internet where governments and companies did not have access to people’s personal information in the same way they do now— the idea of them even asking for more than your name was strange. I know I’m not the only adult who would agree that the internet is a very different place then where it started, and very much worse in some regards (I hate the state of modern day social media and the commodification of art) but there is only so much one person can do without going completely insane.

Me and Neko have agreed on many occasions how important it is to keep the game accessible for people, because there are plenty of adults who cannot access the game otherwise if there was a price tag on it or if the game itself was restricted behind Patreon or a similar process.

We just… fundamentally disagree on restricting it in that way, and its exhausting to take every reasonable measure to communicate this boundary and still have people disregard it or get angry that we aren’t ’doing more’.

I’m not out to vilify or lay moral judgement on anyone as being a horrible or irredeemable person (please dear god keep yourself safe, don’t trust companies with your information), but I’m also not going to act like I don’t stress about how I have to hold myself or figure out ways to clearly assert my personal boundaries (as I am a creator of suggestive/explicit works) so I can avoid using broken, ill-thought or outright malicious ‘verification’ procedures various social media platforms are trying to assert across the internet.

Sometimes the minds of minors are immature. We can't ask the game team to manage the game according to the standards of young age, and the official and its team also work hard to protect minors. After all, this is an 18+ game. Of course, it's not just the freak circus, but also there are minors among many game players. They always feel that their minds are mature enough to be responsible for all their own actions, but I think this is exactly the expression of immaturity. These games will not disappear here. You can even regard it as a small goal in your life stage. When you become an adult, you can contact them. This is responsible for yourself, and it is also a behavior that can really express your love for these games.
