Simple Retro Half Tones brushes for Clip studio

sorry about the deleted original post! i had to fix and re-upload the brushes because I forgot to replace the brush tip texture from a default clip one and they got delisted ;w; They’re back up now and ready to go! –

I struggled finding many retro resources for clip, all the good brushes and actions are for photoshop only so I researched ways to make my own! I wanted some nice simple vintage ‘ben day’ printing style dot brushes that could layer up, or just be used on their own for a variety of effects. –

I learnt some techniques from this guide, so if you want to make some extra flavours of half tone to customise the brushes some more I’d recommend reading this for some tips! 

My next project is a simple ink starve action for clip, it’s mostly ready I think 🙏 just want to tweak it some more.

Oracle Anon here! Another lore-based ask. Magic is a very powerful tool for combat on the Boiling Isles and can even imitate conventional weaponry to an extent. This is seen in episode 11, where Eda summons what looks an awful lot like some kind of energy sword, and in episode 6 where one of the Demon Hunters slices Willow's vines apart. However, we see in at least three cases that traditional weaponry such as blades, halberds, axes, etc. all exist within the Isles; the weapons given to fight Grometheus, Belos's hall of statues below the Conformatorium, and Eda's weapon stash in YB,OS. Any thoughts on what use traditional weapons have when magic seems a lot more powerful?

I imagine just sort of considering the nature of the Boiling Isles, not everything can be handled with magic.

There’s just? A lot of deadly flora and fauna? That’s grown and evolved by the exact same magic the sentient creatures of this world have, so maybe magic doesn’t even work on all of them. They may have needed to figure out weaponry for close-range attacks/defending themselves against something that gets the drop on them.

Not everyone knows the same kinds of magic too, so with Eda (The Most Powerful Witch on the Boiling Isles) and our Demon Hunter Dude (magic that deals specifically with handling magical beasts) they probably just know that sort of close-range defensive magic off the top of their head. But the average witch/demon? May not have the knowledge for such magical defense. As far as I’ve noticed anyway, most magic attacks seem to be pretty long-range in that you don’t need to be right up on your opponent to attack them. If something/someone managed to get past that? What’s the plan then? You need to cast the spell circle and in the time it takes for you to do that, you’ve already been eviscerated by this wild creature that managed to dodge your attack. Having armor and weaponry that you don’t need to think about and can just swing wildly could probably save your life.

In terms of situations like Grom? I’m so glad those kids are given normal weapons as an option. Because again; not everyone knows the same kinds of magic. If you’ve been studying magic up to this point for what, potions? You can’t just hold your finger up to Grometheus for the next hour while your potion brews. If you’re studying abominations but aren’t quite up to par yet? You could maybe make Grom slip on abomination goop that failed to turn into an abomination, but otherwise you’re vulnerable and likely dead.

Having a weapon in hand that you don’t need to think about summoning that you can just clock your opponent with sounds pretty good to me, but I’m but a simple creature.🤷🏻‍♀️⚔️

Adding onto the above, while looking into it to know how she could better support her bisexual kid, may have realized that she's not fully straight either...

Gus and Perry Porter probably have the chillest, most stereotypical tv show father-son relationship ever

Also, Perry Porter is a single dad who is always doing his best

Viney's real name isn't actually Viney- her last name is just Vine and she bases her nickname off of that. Her first name is and will always be kept a secret, and she's not afraid to hurt anyone who somehow manages to figure it out.

Gus' favorite human artifact is the slinky, which is love for intensifies after Luz sends one down the stairs and he is a m a z e d

While Amity didn't like Boscha at first (that much was made clear in the Understanding Willow flashback), they ended up becoming legitimate friends after Amity was dragged to Boscha's birthday party and saw that Boscha's mom was... pretty much just like her own.

Edric used to like to try to lift Amity up when she was little and carry her around, but he wasn't strong enough and usually ended up getting both of them hurt

One of the twins is trans (of course), but since their parents are homo/transphobic, both of them mix their magic to cast a long term illusion spell while they're away from home so whichever twin is trans can present how they want without having to come out to their parents (the only thing I'm torn about on this one is which twin is trans... on one hand, im ftm so I'd like to think its edric, but I also REALLY LOVE the mtf emira headcanons and stories I've seen)

Those who have seen asdfmovie have been trying for years to decipher its meaning. Some there think it's a surrealist doomsday prophecy, others believe it to be a religious demonstration of some sort. Luz finds this amusing and tells no one what it really is.

Bump has a husband and they live together in the countryside

Luz actually needs glasses, but she usually wears contacts and had a phase where she wore a bunch that were colored really weird

Eda also needs glasses, but she doesn't wear them or contacts. She is nearsighted and deals with it like a woman.

I know that staffs and palismans are made by witches themselves when they finish school, but I'd still like to think that there are "staff dealers" out there who sell sketchy lemon staffs at outrageous prices to people who are too lazy to make their own, or who damaged theirs beyond repair

A quick guide on how I draw sleeves. Especially oversized ones. To figure out the arm’s direction, I’ll divide the arm into three sections by drawing two curved lines. I use these lines to figure out how to draw the end of the sleeve. Works every time!
