this makes me so happy. I remember watching that one sharks game late in the season when Reavo was on IR and doing color commentary. and he did this analysis of a play (and did it very well) and then he went "Hey, I could do this!" in such a genuine way. Made me a bit emotional bc he really could! he could provide some real insight and maybe make the interviews actually worthwhile. and it can't be easy to have your career end rather unceremoniously.

Like sure a 16.5% cap hit isn't small but that's about Crosby first contract level.

crosby's first extension was 15.3% of the cap, yeah, in 2007.

doesn't mean the sharks didn't just put themselves into a bit of a pickle with future extensions. vets are going to want their experiences worth, young guns are going to want to compete with peers.
