GUS - stencil art

Undoubtedly, concrete and steel have conquered the daily milieu for the people of Buenos Aires, almost to the point where the fact that we were once the wild nature is long forgotten. As an artist I question the interaction between humans and the environment by transposing materials found on the street into pieces of revelation. When I paint non-domestic animal figures "artificial" colours, I call to attention the need to remember the co-dependence between all. Likewise, my understanding of art is the converging point between the human and the natural. I find the art of the stencil an ideal tool for this purpose. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Sin dudas el concreto y el acero han conquistado la cotidianeidad de los porteños, casi al punto de hacernos olvidar lo que alguna vez fuimos: naturaleza salvaje. Por consiguiente he tratado de cuestionar la posible interacción entre lo cotidiano, transponiendo colores “artificiales” enmarcados en figuras de animales no-domésticos. Asimismo, entiendo al arte como el punto en el que convergen lo humano y lo natural. De manera que encuentro en la técnica del esténcil la herramienta ideal para tal fin.
