the thing is we know what happens when there are no legal protections for worker’s rights especially when it comes to pay is that desperate people without bargaining power take shit jobs in shit conditions while companies do their best to keep it that way including threats of armed violence. As bad as things are today, it was a lot worse.
so it confuses me when people complain about minimum wage making it hard to negotiate fair pay, because you can definitely negotiate for that using minimum wage as a basis.
