happy pride i love being trans
Echeveria (pastel) and aeonium (wine color)
It genuinely feels so good to come back to the series that taught me how to properly draw. Kim Possible taught me stylization but Naruto taught me anatomy and perspective more than any anatomy books. Muscle memory is absolutely insane because what do you mean I can still vividly remember how to draw their features, outfits, and little design quirks 😭 My childhood really did leave a mark on me rahhhh 😩
I have espied new Larry the Cat memes online! It’s an opportunity to make a Larry the Lothcat version if you so desire of one about him outlasting yet another prime-minister/senator of a fittingly chosen Star Wars planet.
Also your previous reply to my inbox is very sweet, pass on my regards to your brother/household for being brilliantly funny in appreciating the excellence of Larry!
LMAO yes let's project our clown car of a government onto lothal it's the only way to cope
happy pride from some stretchy and sleepy cats <3
Can’t explain it but they’re really cunty in this photo
Art grad student answer: it's the contrapposto.
This is a counterbalanced pose where the weight is rested on one leg and the hips and shoulders are tilted in opposite directions. It emphasizes the curves of the body.
Cuntrapposto.

This man is obsessed with cats and I love it
Also I just love Ken Scott’s illustrations :)
So I thought y'all would like this too This great white comes to the jersey shore every year and this year they named her and have been tracking her hella so this is Mary Lee and she decided to show herself under this rainbow for pride month A true gay icon

Had to draw them
They share the highs and the lows.
I’m watching that documentary “Before Stonewall” about gay history pre-1969, and uncovered something which I think is interesting.
The documentary includes a brief clip of a 1954 televised newscast about the rise of homosexuality. The host of the program interviewed psychologists, a police officer, and one “known homosexual”. The “known homosexual” is 22 years old. He identifies himself as Curtis White, which is a pseudonym; his name is actually Dale Olson.
So I tracked down the newscast. According to what I can find, Dale Olson may have been the first gay man to appear openly on television and defend his sexual orientation. He explains that there’s nothing wrong with him mentally and he’s never been arrested. When asked whether he’d take a cure if it existed, he says no. When asked whether his family knows he’s gay, he says that they didn’t up until tonight, but he guesses they’re going to find out, and he’ll probably be fired from his job as well. So of course the host is like …why are you doing this interview then? and Dale Olson, cool as cucumber pie, says “I think that this way I can be a little useful to someone besides myself.”
1954. 22 years old. Balls of pure titanium.
Despite the pseudonym, Dale’s boss did indeed recognize him from the TV program, and he was promptly fired the next day. He wrote into ONE magazine six months later to reassure readers that he had gotten a new job at a higher salary.
Curious about what became of him, I looked into his life a little further. It turns out that he ultimately became a very successful publicity agent. He promoted the Rocky movies and Superman. Not only that, but get this: Dale represented Rock Hudson, and he was the person who convinced him to disclose that he had AIDS! He wrote the statement Rock read. And as we know, Rock Hudson’s disclosure had a very significant effect on the national conversation about AIDS in the U.S.
It appears that no one has made the connection between Dale Olson the publicity agent instrumental in the AIDS debate and Dale Olson the 22-year-old first openly gay man on TV. So I thought I’d make it. For Pride month, an unsung gay hero.
RATING: RELIABLE
you can listen to the clip of the 1954 interview here and find him on wikipedia here
Spot the boy. He's chilling
The mile-long rainbow flag being carried down First Avenue in New York City.
“For New York City Pride in 1994 (Stonewall 25), Baker created a mile-long rainbow flag that was carried down First Avenue in Manhattan. During the parade, Baker used scissors to cut segments from the flag to be rushed to Fifth Avenue for an impromptu protest march in front of St. Patrick’s Cathedral, the headquarters of New York City’s anti-gay Catholic archdiocese.

“Gilbert Baker wearing a white sequined dress (right) and other protestors triumphantly march the cut pieces of the mile-long flag past St. Patrick’s Cathedral. Photograph by Charles Beal”
“Then Frodo came forward and took the crown from Faramir and bore it to Gandalf; and Aragorn knelt, and Gandalf set the White Crown upon his head”
They just needed to make Frodo carry one more piece of jewelry for a little longer, didn’t they? Just to mess with him
KICK THE CAN!
Let’s play the biggest game of kick the can on the internet.
To kick the can, reblog it. I wanna see how long this can go on for.
the oldest reblogs for this post that i can find are from january 2nd of 2013. this can has been getting kicked around tumblr for almost 13½ years now
And yet somehow this is my first time kicking it!
the thing about plants is if you have 100 seeds, you think well not all these seeds are going to be viable so I might as well plan to likely have 50 plants or maybe if I'm unlucky 10 or 20 plants.
However. The most common outcomes are either you get like, 2 plants, or you get 99 plants. And every time there is An Event where it turns out seed viability is Really High you are never prepared to deal with all those plants.
