        “   you   fucking   dork.   ”         arms   link   together,   hips   bump   against   each   other,   it’s   the   kind   of   juvenile   freedom   jessica   had   thought   to   be   lost   forever.   she   should   have   known   to   expect   the   unexpected   when   it   comes   to   gwen.   out   of   everyone   in   jessica’s   life,   she   is   the   one   who   grounds   her.   but   gratitude   has   never   been   her   forte,   so   she   hopes   that   gwen   knows   anyway.         “   why   thank   you.   i   have   worked   extremely   hard   to   find   a   place   that   would   suit   your   fancy   taste.   ”

             A  self-satisfied  hum  settles  within  her  in  that  moment,  a  smugness  duly  reacted  upon  Jessica’s  notorious  brand  of  affection;  despite  being  so  drastically  different  in  dispositions  of  feeling  versus  logic,  their  friendship  had  gone  through  hell  and  back,  and  an  issue  of  miscommunication  was  a  time   of  the  past.  Gwen  certainty  spoke  for  the  both  of  them  in  verbal  affirmations,  where  Jessica  let  actions  speak  louder  than words;  each  held  their  own  in  turn.  A  scientist’s  perceptiveness  meets  a  detective’s  subtle  inflections, leaving  any  third-party  lost  in  the  midst  of  their  silent  understanding.

       ❝  And  nothing  screams  fancy  quite  like  some  fast,  greasy  goodness.  You spoil me. ❞  A  smile  twisted  in  the  usual  humor  of  their  banter  falls  into  one  of  more  gentle  awareness,  accompanied  with  that  keen  curiosity that  commonly  lingered  in  her  piercing  blue  eyes.  ❝  So .  .  .  what’ve  you  been  up  to,  Jones?  All  work  and  no  play?  ❞

       Spring  Cleaning  Unfollowing  is  complete !! kinda  hurt  the  depth  of  my  soul   a  bit,,  but  it  was  definitely  worth  my  while. a  lot  more  freeing,,  &  i’m  gonna  go  ahead  &  update  my  rules  in  respect  to  selectivity,,  but  i  might’ve  made  a  couple  mistakes  in  my  lil  crazed  unfollowing  spree,  so  if  you  see  that  i’ve  unfollowed  you, &  we’ve  shown  interest  in  each  others  blogs  before &  i’m  just  a  dummy  who  has  short  term  memory,  please  like  this  post !!  my  memory  is  akin  to  a  goldfish.

    “ I’ll try to write some new material sometime. “  Pete offers up a warm smile before happily accepting her offer to come in.  Brave as his face may be, the New York City winters were still harsh, and they weren’t exactly ground level.  “Yeah, he had a listing at the university.  I thought I’d be one face out of a crowd, but Otto says that Oscorp’s been taking up most of the fresh faces,” he playfully nudges Gwen, “it’s good for me, though.  I hope I learn a lot from him. ”

       ❝  Then,  I’ll  look  forward  to  it. —  Whenever  you  get  around  to  that,  of  course.  ❞  A  bit  of  a  playful  gibe,  and  nothing  more;  he  made  small  talk  look  like  an  Olympic  Sport,  by  the  way  Peter  charmed  his  way  through  conversations.  Not  to  say  he’s  at  all  successful,  but  it  generally  gives  for  a  spark  of  mirth,  for  what  it’s  worth. 

       And  it  never  fails  to  win  a  pursed  grin  from  Gwen;  a  problematic  mixture  of  attempting  to  suppress  her  amusement  for  the  sake  of  all  seriousness,  only  for  it  to  escape  in  the  wrinkle  of  her  eyes.  ❝  Sounds  like  things  turned  out  in  your  favor  for  once.  ❞  Pride  swelled  for  her  friend,  even  as  he  went  down  a  braver  path  of  one  less  traveled  by;  it  was  no  wonder  Oscorp  usually  got  the  first  pick: the  security  and  prestige  had  won  her  over.  Following  the  sway  of  his  nudge,  she  returns  one  of  her  own. ❝  Hey — you’ll  do  great.  I  know  you  will.  The  only  advice  I  could  give  you  is .  .  . well,  — try  to  make  sure  to  show  up  on  time.  ❞
