i actually do think on some level obese should be considered a slur akin to other dated medicalizing terminology

it's a fun sexy word for me but as a medical category it's entirely based on just your height and weight and nothing else. treating it as a medical problem is tantamount to treating fat people as a problem to be eradicated, it's fundamentally eugenicist. the world would still be fine if everyone was fat.
