This time more genuine laughter left her lips. An Olympic runner? That was giving her too much credit. Giggles filled the air as she stood up, smoothing her skirt with her hands. She was no where near as athletic as Hinoka or Takumi. “No, no, I doubt they would.”
Her eyes lingered on the dog and she found herself nodding. “I think you’re right.” She replied softly. Aside from being well behaved ( not counting the unfortunate chasing incident), he seemed too well groomed to be a stray either. She smiled a bit at the tricks he was able to perform, clapping her hands politely afterwards. Whoever owned him obviously had a lot of love and care for him…
Pink eyebrows furrowed together as she have his question some thought. “Um… about two blocks down that way,” She pointed in the direction in which she came from. “Just around the c-corner? By the convenience store?” Bringing down her attention back to the dog she added, “He doesn’t have a collar… Maybe he managed to get out of someone’s home.” Sakura looked up. “What if they’re looking for him?”
He attempted to map out the area in his head but knew that was futile considering his tendency to get lost despite supposedly knowing the area. He could picture the convenience store; however, and knew there were several residences nearby. They were a little far for the dog to wander from, but perhaps he’d been out on a walk with his owner when he escaped.
“Hmm, I have a feeling they might be.” Since he hadn’t been doing anything particularly important he couldn’t say no to finding the dogs owner. “I’m not busy; if you have the time maybe you can show me where he started chasing you? We should probably go from there. Hopefully his owner isn’t too far away; I don’t think it’ll take us too long to find them.” Or at least he hoped. The last thing he wanted to do was dump the poor pup in a shelter because they couldn’t find his owner.
“So whaddya say? You wanna help me find the little guys owner?” The dog in question seemed to understand he was being talked about and yipped happily, wagging his tail back and forth furiously. “I think we’ll be able to locate them quickly enough -- surely he hasn’t wandered that far from home.”
