Consider:
You've abandoned your kingdom to be happy, a happy assassin and apothecary on the edge of your kingdom, brewing potions and helping those who are smart enough to find you
Me and @beautifultrees07 are plotting to do a secret guerilla pumpkin patch in a neglected waste patch by a local freeway. It’s gonna look cute!
Update! We cleared this area of invasive (and abrasive!) weeds, hoed the rocky and barren soils, amended the earth (with a layer of straw for drainage and to hold moisture/encourage mycelium), created 18 pumpkin mounds of different varieties (Atlantic Giant, Jarrahdale, Lumina, Cinderella, Jack O’ Lantern, Musquee de Provence, and Red Warty Thing) in 96 degree weather so like, don’t even question our love for pumpkins and soil restoration! We added flowers for beautification and to attract pollinators. We moved discarded mattresses, furniture pieces, and removed bags of trash, glass, and dog poop. The pumpkin vines will reach maturity in October and we’re looking forward to the growth!
Update! Remember her??? Be careful who you call ugly!! Our guerilla garden/secret pumpkin patch is really shaping up! Pumpkin vines are growing strong and healthy, cucumber plants are producing, and corn stalks are growing taller! This lot used to be filled with dog poop, mattresses, and discarded furniture! Hopefully we’ll have pumpkins soon. Me and my two sisters laid all the groundwork for this garden and it’s being maintained mostly by one of my sisters and other volunteers. We love to restore the soil, revive barren land, and coax pumpkins from the earth just in time for Hallow’s Eve ~
Another update from August 5:
Foliage is thick and lush and baby pumpkins are forming! We’re excited for the turn of the season and to have a little pumpkin patch ready for Halloween
An update from today, August 7th! (btw you can follow the instagram page for this group garden @threesisters_garden). We have a lot of different pumpkin varieties! This one below is Atlantic Giant:
This next one is Red Warty Thing (yknow the one that’s red with warts)
And the one below is Jarrahdale (will be a silvery green pumpkin)
Update from August 16! Pumpkins are growing bigger and stronger by the day!
Look at the Red Warty Thing variety below! She is growing warts and we couldn’t be more proud!
If you want more pumpkin updates, you can follow our instagram page (@threesisters_garden)
Another update from today, August 23: the Red Warty Thing pumpkin has grown more warts!
Update to the thread: we harvested everything and they’re beautiful! Stunning!
Some pumpkins were stolen before they reached their full potential but these are the ones we managed to harvest! There are 5 different varieties in this line-up (from left to right, Jarrahdale, Jack O Lantern, Cinderella, Red Warty Thing, and Lumina). It’s wild to see how this little neglected strip of earth by the side of the freeway could produce such beautiful pumpkins with a few soil amendments and TLC
The pessimist in me is SHOCKED this wasn’t either vandalized or uprooted by local government employees. GLAD IT WAS SUCCESSFUL.
The secret to success with this is that noone knows what’s supposed to be going on with this stretch of dirt. Everyone’s gonna look at the pumpkin patch and think ‘hey that’s a cool thing the city did!’. You can just plant stuff wherever because noone knows you’re not a contractor. You could probably put down a sign somewhere declaring it a community garden space and people would start planting stuff there, because who else would put a sign there if not the city? In fact, I think I’m gonna do that with the piece of grass behind my apartment
Basically @hyperactivehedgehog is right! We wore neon reflective vests while working on this and everyone assumed we were sent by the city or some official group. Even my friends and coworkers (at my day job) assumed I was being paid to do this because they saw pictures of me in my reflective orange vest. The city does have a budget to maintain neglected areas like this, but they don’t make it a priority to provide regular trash services or maintain it like the neighbors would like. So we essentially did the city’s job for them, free of charge and on our own dollar. We even made the sidewalk accessible by trimming back the weeds hanging over it and removing the trash blocking it. It’s something no one can be mad about. I think it also worked because the neighbors hated that everyone regarded the area as a dumping ground. So when anyone volunteers to clean it up, they’re just glad the trash is gone.
If anything this just shows the power of a reflective vest. Put on a hard hat, work pants and you’ll damn near be able to walk into anywhere.

So true.
Read this and save a life - YOUR OWN
From a surgical nurse and certified CPR teacher:
Please pause for 2 minutes and read this:
1. Let’s say it’s 7.25pm and you’re going home (alone of course) after an unusually hard day on the job.
2. You’re really tired, upset and frustrated.
3 Suddenly you start experiencing severe pain in your chest that starts to drag out into your arm and up in to your jaw. You are only about five km from the hospital nearest your home.
4. Unfortunately you don’t know if you’ll be able to make it that far.
5. You have been trained in CPR, but the guy who taught the course did not tell you how to perform it on yourself.
6. HOW TO SURVIVE A HEART ATTACK WHEN ALONE? Since many people are alone when they suffer a heart attack without help, the person whose heart is beating improperly and who begins to feel faint, has only about 10 seconds left before losing consciousness.
7. However, these victims can help themselves by coughing repeatedly and very vigorously. A deep breath should be taken before each cough, and the cough must be deep and prolonged, as when producing sputum from deep inside the chest. A breath and a cough must be repeated about every two seconds without let-up until help arrives, or until the heart is felt to be beating normally again.
8. Deep breaths get oxygen into the lungs and coughing movements squeeze the heart and keep the blood circulating. The squeezing pressure on the heart also helps it regain normal rhythm. In this way, heart attack victims can get to a hospital.
9. Tell as many other people as possible about this. It could save their lives!!
10. A cardiologist says If everyone who gets this mail kindly sends it to 10 people, you can bet that we’ll save at least one life.
11. Rather than sending jokes, please... contribute by forwarding this mail which can save a person’s life.
12. If this message comes around you... more than once… please don’t get irritated... You should instead, be happy that you have many friends who care about you & keeps reminding you how to deal with a Heart attack.
please take the time and boost this post by reposting it and sending it to those you love because we all need to understand how to quickly deal with heart attacks
as someone who has been having signs of a heart attack recently, i’m really glad i found this post
The Suez Canal situation seems like an excellent time to bring up the problem of flags of convenience and the working conditions of seafarers!
As the International Transport Federation describes it, “A flag of convenience ship is one that flies the flag of a country other than the country of ownership.” Coupled with the characteristically murky nature of ownership in the shipping industry, it is incredibly easy for companies to exploit their workers and skirt pollution regulations to a degree rarely seen on land.
Let’s look at the Ever Given. She’s registered in Panama (the most common choice for a FOC), yet operated by a Taiwanese firm, managed by a company in Hamburg, and owned by a Japanese company. And the 25 crew are Indian nationals. This is not at all out of the ordinary for international shipping, if anything, it’s the norm. If that crew number seems low to you, that is also standard for vessels of this size, in part because FOCs allow for skeleton crews operating with little downtime.
I can’t claim anything about the Ever Given, but time and again it’s been shown that working conditions aboard such vessels is nightmarish. By registering under FOCs, shipping companies hand over regulatory authority to nations that are not hugely interested in setting or enforcing standards, allowing them to operate in ways that would be illegal in any nation actually connected to the vessel. Gruelling long hours for shockingly low pay is the industry standard, and inadequate food and drinking water are commonplace. Seafarers who raise complaints will often find themselves bullied and blacklisted by shipping companies, leading to widespread acceptance of such abuses.
Another issue facing seafarers is that of vessel abandonment, one that is only getting worse with the pandemic. A particularly egregious case is that of the MT Iba. Since anchoring off the coast of Dubai in 2017 after financial issues halted operations, the ship and her crew have been all but forgotten by the owner. The crew did not set foot on land again until last month. Leaving the ship would have essentially meant forfeiting their owed wages, leaving them to rely entirely upon a seafarers charity for food and drinking water. The Iba was owned and operated by a company in the UAE and sailed under a Panamanian flag.
In another case, a crewman aboard the MV Aman has been made legally responsible for the vessel by the Egyptian authorities, leaving him stranded alone and forced to swim to shore for supplies since 2017. Mohammed Aisha is suffering deteriorating health as a result of this extended solitary confinement aboard a ship without power and has almost drowned several times during his swims ashore for food, but leaving the vessel would likely result in his prosecution by Egyptian maritime authorities.
The maritime shipping industry is a behemoth, and it’s one that we all rely on. There is very little in your life that has not been aboard a ship or relied upon international shipping for its existence. And seafarers are some of the most isolated and abused workers in the world. Abuse is built into the industry and made practically legal through FOCs and the esoteric nature of vessel ownership. I won’t put a link because tumblr will hide the post from the tags if I do, but please Google “IFT Seafarers”. They’re the main organisation fighting on behalf of seafarers, from the large fight against FOCs to individual campaigns on behalf of abandoned crew.
There is a massive pipeline underway in northern Minnesota that violates Indigenous rights and would carry the pollution equivalent to 50 coal power plants.
The bulldozers have arrived to plow through sacred wild rice watersheds, over 800 wetlands, and 200+ bodies of water. Indigenous water protectors are fighting to protect their land, but the drones are overhead and the police are militarizing.
President-Elect Biden has the power to stop this project on day one. He can review the permits granted by Trump and halt Line 3 construction immediately.
This will be the first climate test for his administration and we are making it clear that the Keystone XL, Dakota Access, and Line 3 pipelines must be stopped.
Please sign this petition calling on Joe Biden to #StopLine 3 immediately and invoke a climate test for all pipelines.
Like, it’s 100% true that Kids These Days tend to be less computer literate than my generation was at that age, but that isn’t because they’re lazy.
It’s because consumer software has been growing steadily more user-hostile for the last twenty solid years, and this is a deliberate tactic on the part of major software vendors in order to manipulate people into paying money and/or installing adware in order to access functionality that their systems were already perfectly capable of.
Basically, big software vendors have realised that you can charge people for access to things they already have if you can prevent them from realising that they have it; this is now a major plank of their business model.
This is why the Right to Repair movement is incomplete without taking software into consideration: having direct, unencumbered, and unobfuscated access to the guts of your software is just as essential to sustainable computing as not having to piss around with eight different sizes of screws with four different proprietary screw-head designs in order to crack open your smartphone.
(And no, simply being pro-free-software isn’t sufficient. Large chunks of the open source movement have also historically been broadly hostile to end-user accessibility, albeit for completely different reasons than the commercial software vendors are, and a lot of open source software badly fails to meet the “unobfuscated access” criterion.)
leftist antisemites are really everywhere on this hellsite making & reblogging their posts like “the Jews have too much power and privilege and actually their very recent genocide was not that bad compared to what my group experiences and antisemitism doesn’t even exist in my country and especially not in liberal spaces”
Goyim should reblog posts like this one instead of always only acknowledging antisemitism when it is about jk rowling’s goblins or easy shit like that.
Challenge the antisemitism that is coming from inside the house. Be a little brave. Because you will lose followers for reblogging a post like this, because there are antisemites following you that think this way, and assume you do too.

Indigenous Action looks at basic ways that people can get ‘back to basics’ as the Trump era comes to a close. We are ungovernable on stolen land. Fuck Biden.
Build an affinity group. An affinity group is a small group of 5 to 20 people who work together autonomously on direct actions or other projects. Affinity groups generally consist of like minded people who come together to get something done. If you already have an affinity group, link and cluster those groups!
Skill up. Delinking from capitalism and colonial apparatuses requires us to learn how to do things for ourselves and each other beyond buying, selling, working, or asking the state to help us. From self and collective defense, to gardening, building bikes, unschooling, and caring for each other- we can learn a skill and share a skill. We can change how we value skills and dismantle hierarchies of class and ableism.
Establish and practice good security culture. Security culture is necessary to survive state repression. We can stop a lot of infiltration and disinformation in its tracks by improving our ways of communicating and navigating conflict. We can still be horizontal and transparent without sacrificing security and safety.
Practice transformative and restorative justice. Strong communities make police and prisons obsolete. We can change our culture to prevent violence and abuse. We can build up our capacities to confront and resolve conflicts. We can strengthen our ties and detoxify our relationships so harm has no space to grow in our communities.
Mutual Aid. Start a mutual aid group and provide necessary support to those who are in need. Mutual aid organizing can ensure our communities are not dependent on corporations and the state. Shift your use of resources to things you can grow and make or procure from others in resistance. Build networks of aid and resources beyond capitalism.
Mutual defense. From arms training to street tactics to bystander interventions and safety teams, we need to have the skills and resources to defend our communities from fascist attacks on our people, non-human beings, and lands.
Build and sustain conflict infrastructure. Conflict Infrastructure is any structure we organize helps us be more effective in our fights. This is infrastructure that goes beyond solely providing awareness and services and instead builds our capacity to wage actual resistance. From community gardens and collectively coordinated farms to infoshops and independent media/communications.
Open squats for unsheltered folx. Rent is theft. Private property is colonial violence upon the land. Abolish rent and private property. Rematriate lands to original caretakers. Create spaces to live beyond landlords.
Defend and reclaim ancestral lands. Because #landback means ending colonial occupation and restoring Indigenous stewardship of our ancestral lands. Regenerate our sacred relations, and all that entails spiritually and materially, with our original homelands. Liberate the sacred.
Reparations. Seize what has been stolen from Black and Indigenous Peoples and liberate it back. Radical redistribution is necessary.
Shut shit down. Intervene in critical infrastructure at the points where capitalism and colonialism are at their most vulnerable. Seize the streets, factories, ports, fracking pads, pipelines, power stations, smash the borders, be smart and be creative! It’s also an effective way to target those industries perpetuating climate change.
Be fiercely intersectional. ‘Cause we’re not taking those old shitty behaviors with us. Fuck anti-blackness, fuck orientalism, fuck islamaphobia, fuck anti-semitism, fuck transphobia, fuck heteropatriarchy, fuck white supremacy, fuck imperialism, fuck ableism, fuck hierarchy, fuck racism, fuck citizenship, fuck privilege, fuck everything fucked up!
Practice Radical Self & Collective Care. To remain dangerous to power we must care for ourselves and each other. Learn common triggers and how to communicate without being fucked up. Learn to communicate your needs, boundaries, and wants effectively and nontoxicly – remember that folks in the struggle and resistance have the hardest time accessing resources for mental and spiritual care. Movement work can be unsustainable to those with many experiences of settler policing and violence triggers – find ways to communicate and negotiate group norms and boundaries that accommodate peoples’ needs if reasonable. Identify toxic communication patterns and learn / create ways to dismantle them and communicate in more healthy and less harmful ways.Be honest about your limitations and care for yourself and each other. The christianized, capitalized colonial state has taught us to never rest or heal. Reject any attempts at coercing people to go beyond their limits. Radical self-care keeps us safe and invulnerable when consistently engaging in agitating governability by the state.
Make everything accessible for everyone. Reject ableism and objectification of our bodies and lives, establish community care networks with people equipped to provide first aid and care support to a full spectrum of needs. Challenge ableism in our language, how we organize, and how we value each other. We are all enough.
Abolish Rape Culture. Study rape and rape culture and how it relates to the desecration of sacred lands. Transform our culture and practices around dating, humor, relationships, sexuality, consent, parties, sex labor, and play to abolish rape culture. Hold mactivists, rapists, abusers, opportunists, and creeps accountable. Center consent and healthy relationships in everything we do everywhere.
Spread radical and militant joy. We can fuck shit up while we dance, sing, party, laugh, play, wonder, have deep conversations, tell stories, make art, make love, make magic, make brilliance, make awesomeness, and have fun.
