What if I turned 19, 19 minutes ago
I want to live by myself when I move out of my parent's place but I'm really afraid of money problems? I'm afraid that the only place I can afford will be in the ghetto and it'll all be torn apart and I'll only be allowed to eat one granola bar a week. I'm really stressing out about this. I don't know anything about after school life. I don't know anything about paying bills or how to buy an apartment and it's really scaring me. is there anything you know that can help me?

Once you’ve looked over all those cool links, I have some general advice for you on how you can have some sort of support system going for you:
Reasons to move out of home
You may decide to leave home for many different reasons, including:
wishing to live independently
location difficulties – for example, the need to move closer to university
conflict with your parents
being asked to leave by your parents.
Issues to consider when moving out of home
It’s common to be a little unsure when you make a decision like leaving home. You may choose to move, but find that you face problems you didn’t anticipate, such as:
Unreadiness – you may find you are not quite ready to handle all the responsibilities.
Money worries – bills including rent, utilities like gas and electricity and the cost of groceries may catch you by surprise, especially if you are used to your parents providing for everything. Debt may become an issue.
Flatmate problems – issues such as paying bills on time, sharing housework equally, friends who never pay board, but stay anyway, and lifestyle incompatibilities (such as a non-drug-user flatting with a drug user) may result in hostilities and arguments.
Your parents may be worried
Think about how your parents may be feeling and talk with them if they are worried about you. Most parents want their children to be happy and independent, but they might be concerned about a lot of different things. For example:
They may worry that you are not ready.
They may be sad because they will miss you.
They may think you shouldn’t leave home until you are married or have bought a house.
They may be concerned about the people you have chosen to live with.
Reassure your parents that you will keep in touch and visit regularly. Try to leave on a positive note. Hopefully, they are happy about your plans and support your decision.
Tips for a successful move
Tips include:
Don’t make a rash decision – consider the situation carefully. Are you ready to live independently? Do you make enough money to support yourself? Are you moving out for the right reasons?
Draw up a realistic budget – don’t forget to include ‘hidden’ expenses such as the property’s security deposit or bond (usually four weeks’ rent), connection fees for utilities, and home and contents insurance.
Communicate – avoid misunderstandings, hostilities and arguments by talking openly and respectfully about your concerns with flatmates and parents. Make sure you’re open to their point of view too – getting along is a two-way street.
Keep in touch – talk to your parents about regular home visits: for example, having Sunday night dinner together every week.
Work out acceptable behaviour – if your parents don’t like your flatmate(s), find out why. It is usually the behaviour rather than the person that causes offence (for example, swearing or smoking). Out of respect for your parents, ask your flatmate(s) to be on their best behaviour when your parents visit and do the same for them.
Ask for help – if things are becoming difficult, don’t be too proud to ask your parents for help. They have a lot of life experience.
If your family home does not provide support
Not everyone who leaves home can return home or ask their parents for help in times of trouble. If you have been thrown out of home or left home to escape abuse or conflict, you may be too young or unprepared to cope.
If you are a fostered child, you will have to leave the state-care system when you turn 18, but you may not be ready to make the sudden transition to independence.
If you need support, help is available from a range of community and government organisations. Assistance includes emergency accommodation and food vouchers. If you can’t call your parents or foster parents, call one of the associations below for information, advice and assistance.
Where to get help

Kids Helpline Tel. 1800 55 1800
Lifeline Tel. 13 11 44
Home Ground Services Tel. 1800 048 325
Relationships Australia Tel. 1300 364 277
Centrelink Crisis or Special Help Tel. 13 28 50

Things to remember
Try to solve any problems before you leave home. Don’t leave because of a fight or other family difficulty if you can possibly avoid it.
Draw up a realistic budget that includes ‘hidden’ expenses, such as bond, connection fees for utilities, and home and contents insurance.
Remember that you can get help from a range of community and government organizations.

Seriously what the fuck you spent money on those donate to a homeless shelter instead you fucking demons
This is more common than you may think. Many urban areas that have high homeless populations are using “defensive architecture” more and more. Sloped and divided benches to keep the homeless from sleeping on them. Spikes placed in sheltered areas where they tend to stay. City planners argue they are only trying to relocate the homeless, pushing them to see out shelters and homeless centers. But that rings hollow. They just want them out of sight. I don’t have a simple, easy solution. But this isn’t it. Making things harder for the homeless does not help them.
All these corporations have so much money to spend it on putting spikes on places where homeless people sleep yet absolutely NOTHING goes to those who are homeless. This country really doesn’t give a fuck about the well being of homeless people at all
Hahah......
THE LITTLE MERMAID SERIES (1992-94)
Babies don’t forget there’s an Etsy boycott from April 11-18 to protest the higher service fees recently instated for shop owners despite the fact that the company reported record profits last year. Etsy is usually one of my go-tos but I am absolutely going to stay off for the week. Without its vendors (many of whom are independent artists/creators) Etsy is literally nothing, and if these new policies are undermining their ability to stay on the site without risking their financial stability then they 100% deserve our support. No Etsy this week!!!

This is an irl friend of mine and can vouch for
As sad as I am going to be for her to move so far away I want her out of and away from her shitty ‘family’!
She is a very sweet girl and I love her to bits and if we can get her the funds to move someplace safe then I can at least see her off with a smile.
i’ve known op since 2013. i have wanted so much to be able to magically whisk her away to somewhere better than the places she’s landed, for the most part, over the past decade. this is an amazing opportunity
i know things are tight all around right now, but i would love it if someone who is able to could help her out, either by donating or reblogging
I also know and can vouch for Erin - she’s deeply kind and has been stuck in a very bad situation for a very long time now that just continues to get worse by not-so-small increments. If I could afford to safely spirit her away somewhere kinder all on my own I would but since I can’t this is our next best option for her!
If you can help and/or share it’d be greatly appreciated!
i’m so sorry to be negative, but i also have to share my reality my dad is basically trying to cut off my transportation. he made me spend $100 for a half tank of gas, for example. then proceeded to scream at me about it in front of two witnesses my mental health is declining. i’ve developed a stress induced stutter, for example. i need to expedite my move for my wellbeing. i still desperately need some supplies, and now i have to rely on things being delivered to me for another fee please reblog this post to get word out
Went down to help her pack and the moment we walked in the door he was already being a shit hole. He was drinking and being very antagonistic to her from the get go. Even with me standing next to her he didn’t give a shit and kept hurling more and more at her. It took everything in me to not stab that fucker
She really needs this money to get out of there, I’d take her in myself but I do not have any say and my own income issues taking forever I am struggling to find ways to be of help to her.
Please help ;A; I’ll do writing commissions if it’ll get her more money so she can get somewhere safe so she can heal and live her life happy for once
my dad has proceeded to up his ante. today alone he has accused me of conspiracy, plotting grand theft auto, tax evasion/fraud, and snap fraud. he has told me i have 3 weeks to leave. he said he intends to cut my phone off. the only reason i have my phone on his plan is bc he broke three of my phones before. he has taken away access to transportation
i will not survive here until june. i am sorry but that’s become apparent. i desperately need help to expedite this move asap. please share my post to get word out

Courtney’s Mix-and-Match 80s CC Stuff Pack
One of the best features of Courtney’s collection is that the pieces are meant to be interchangeable. This set contains a variety of clothing options with some accessories and BB items. (Honestly if I had known how far I was going to take this, I would have waited to release the Meet outfit and pajamas). If I had more skill I would have made the jackets into separate accessories, but alas.
This pack contains four Courtney sets: Awesome 80s, Fitness, PAC-MAN lunch and school supplies. *Most of these items are BGC. The cardigan requires Get to Work and the jeans require Parenthood.*
Files are labelled as following:
CC Pack Merged- all 16 files.
CAS Merged- 11 files for clothing and accessories.
BB Merged- 5 files for PAC-MAN lunch and school supplies sets.
BGC Only- 14 files.
Sub folder for individual files to pick and choose.

Extra preview items thanks to: @stardze for the half-up hair. Side pony is by @sisselin. The thermos mesh is by @imadako, but you don’t need it for the item to show up. All done in the American Girl palette (except for the jeans).
I do not own the rights to American Girl, PAC-MAN, or Lisa Frank and you probably don’t either! Feel free to tag me if you use them, I’d love to see! My TOU are here. Big shout out to @cmoonsims for making my previews and testing.

Julie: 1970's CC Stuff Pack
Julie Albright's parents recently divorced and she moved to a different part of San Francisco, where she's attending a new school and can only see her dad and best friend Ivy on the weekends. Her biggest passion is basketball so when she's told that the school's team is for boys only, she fights back, stating that Title IX gives girls the right to play. Whether it's petitioning for gender equality in sports, protecting endangered species or running for student body president, Julie learns that the best way to deal with the changes you can't control is to make positive changes of your own.
17 items total: 13 CAS/4 BB.
Merged files for CAS, BB and all plus sub-folder for individual files.
Most of the items in this set are BGC but the basketball requires City Living.
The casual pants are not compatible with boots that go higher than mid-calf, but work with shorter boots and other shoe types. They also don't work with shorter tops or ones that tuck. The meet jeans do not work with socks.
Done in the American Girl palette with extra neutral swatches.

Buy me a coffee?
The thermos mesh is by @imadako. The birthday dress uses the mesh from @peebsplays Caroline holiday dress and lace texture from the Josefina meet outfit. Meshes are included in each package. Thanks also to @cmoonsims for making my previews and testing! Credit for the Julie logo in the thumbnails goes to American Girl. *Read under the cut for WCIF extra preview items.*
Recolors and meshes are great, but please link back to me and don't upload behind a paywall. Feel free to tag me if you use them, I'd love to see!
