Baby I || Hennett
Bennett had a lot he needed to tell Hunter. It was amazing, how one could spend all day in someone’s presence and get so little actual important information out. And yet, that’s what Benny had been up to, filling silence that he could have spent telling Hunter about not getting their marriage annulled or the fact that somewhere inside the womb of a very nice woman named Violet was their very own child with kisses and cuddles instead. It’s not like Bennett could blame himself, though, Hunter was very kissable and had been sorely missed.
Still, though, Bennett knew that the truth needed to come out and so he was going to make the big reveal as perfect as possible. He got out of bed extra early and began making up some pancakes. Fruits, chocolate chips and whipped cream were set out in front of Hunter’s place at the Fitz table where the couple had been staying. Benny had on a frilly little apron tied loosely around his waist, opting for a baggy sweater and his flannels under that. He whistled softly as he waited for Hunter to wake up to his mini-surprise breakfast, only the start of a day full of surprises that he could only hope Hunter would like.
Months of being gone, away from those who love and those who have you, tend to take a toll on the human mind. When certain situations begin to be perceived as normal, an individual tends to be on edge. And Hunter was on edge. Coming home to a much different environment actually caught him by surprise, but it wasn't necessarily in a negative way. He had expected something completely different-- turned backs and hostility, but he was surprised to find something completely different. As soon as he arrived, he was welcomed with open arms and kisses of course. It was a much different situation compared to the one in Detroit, but that was in a positive sense.
In all honesty, he was very much in the dark about the whole situation and everything that went on while he was gone. He had thought Bennett had annulled their marriage, and had no idea of what was to come along with that. Waking up to sunlight peeking through the blinds and the scent of freshly made pancakes, Hunter was oblivious. He stretched his hands over his head as he made his way towards where the scent was coming from, a lazy grin on his face. "Hey, cutie. What's all this?"
