Valaeron and Baekar happening in the same universe is so funny to me.

Like poor Daeron II was there thinking his perfect eldest son understood the importance of his duty to the realm and why marrying Jena would he best. Only for said perfect son to run away with his younger brother and go through a shotgun wedding with a sept held at swordpoint.

Flash forward years later Baelor and Maekar have been happily married for however many years, raised a whopping eight children together, and Baelor has been crowned king, Maekar his queen. Obviously now with his new role as king Baelor finally understands his father's side and is just grateful his own children have never put him through the politics of broken bethrothals.

... only for his own perfect eldest son (Valarr) to run away with his younger brother (Daeron) and yet again hold a secret wedding (though valarr was less violent in his methods of gaining a septon to perform the rites)

Something about aerion being literal satan yet being in the only one of the 'top three' AKOTSK ships to NOT be targcest is so funny to me (Esp compared to Baelor and Valarr who are practically angels in canon and downbad utterly depraved individuals for their brother (Maekar) and cousin (Daeron) respectively on Ao3)

Daeron does not want to be there but he got bribed a cigar and a sherry and Valarr just wants a reason to spend time with his favorite cousin.

They’re bad shooters tbfr but their fathers LOVES hunting and the only one who’s glad to be there is Aerion but he got banned because he kept killing every moving thing with no regards while the other maekarlings: Egg and Aemon hates the thought of killing animals they pretended to miss the shot every time.

Also I think their annual hunt depends on the season like on spring break they’re deer hunting in summerhall and on autumn they’re shooting game birds in king’s landing like posh ppl do.

Valarr who's so quiet, gentle and polite, always praised for taking care of his poor, drunk cousin, while all this time this is part of his evil scheme to wed him, let's go?

dude would either go and spread fake news about Daeron's dreams, planting the seeds of doubt in everyone involved, so that in the end they are bethroted to prevent some non-existent disaster that Valarr's smartass made up

or he would do it the old fashioned way, sleep with Daeron to ensure there will be a child, then go to see the King (+Baelor and Maekar, obv) all sad and teary eyed, apologising for loosing control over his instincts, for trying to protect poor Daeron from all the other alphas who could've used him... he's so good at it that in the end no one's mad at him, with Maekar apologising to Valarr for his reckless son causing all that mess
