RM3 time

My character this round is named あなた. This is a very dumb joke that paid off immediately.

Grassvalley's portraits are very 2011. You can smell the moe boom dying in front of your eyes. The one side blush is chaotic evil. Otherwise, cute.

The base character model looked a little douchey when I changed his hair and I ran w/ it.

The new-ish UI looks so much like a Vita game. It's crazy that they released this title in 2011. That 6 year gap between 1 and 3 can be felt so hard. There being proper dungeon designs w/ gimmicks and shit is wild. Doesn't feel as MMO anymore tho.

They had to speed run introducing a bunch of characters this go around. Senel has another fucking portrait. They could not figure out what to use for this man. They still can't.

There has yet to be an emulation issue so I guess PPSSPP just fucking hates 2 in specific.

The Geebler's fight themes are so corny I kinda love how dumb and lame he is. What a dumb and lame character. Edgy boy w/ his stupid claw can't even have friends cuz he has the fu. So full of fu. Just so much fu.

RM2 done part 2. Some screenshots of the ending. The "animation" here is just some mouth flaps moving. Cheap production for the ED, but I can't imagine the budget was high to begin w/.

Overall, I like RM2, but it has so many basic errors design wise that it's hard to want to go back to those fucking bosses. Might be the worst thing about RM as a whole. HP sponge walls that can stab you to death in a second. Always bad! Why is this shit the standard now? Can it not be??

There are a lot of nitpick shit I can pointlessly list, but the overall is that it's fine. Again, overall, I like RM2. More characters, better visuals, better execution on mechanics, but let down by lack of variety and other failings brought on by the hardware and budget limitations. This is the type of game to have most of its budget spent on voice cast (Which the game has a fucking huge cast and it doesn't even contain most of the characters that were around by 2009).

The emulation errors really soured this run. The constant crashing, infinite loads, NPC disappearing errors, and the list goes on. Being paranoid that the game will straight break mid first time exploration and being proven right sucks!

The original cast was largely redundant. Earhart was cute and she definitely went through some fucking torture. Janis fucking Khan. Icon legend moment. Paneeru was fine. Niata. Everyone else largely faded into the background and Janis disappeared after he allied w/ the guild. A hate crime against America, frankly.

This is a great game if you want Jade and Refill to be omni-present. Would recommend if you just love Jade and Refill in specific.

I have now finished RM2. Maybe one of the worst final bosses in the entire series. Both fights are fucking horrendous and the four other boss fights in Negative Nest are just as bad. Very cool.

Image dump from where I left off. The Geebler showed up, some girls got cloned, Kanonno started dying badly, Kanonno showed up as a ghost, Barbatos (!!!), The Geebler showed up again, and of course The Geebler turned into a robot. Somehow this man turned into a robot! Wow fuck him!

Genuinely, the robot (Deus Ex Machina) is one of the worst bosses in the entire series. The last Geebler fight is horrific, but Deus Dickhead takes the fucking cake and cums in it. Here's some bullet points:

Can fast cast meteor swarm, cyclone, ground dasher

cannot be comboed

cannot break iron stance

cannot attack it on the ground as it flies. This makes most classes incapable of attacking this boss w/ most of their movesets.

Deus Ex Machina has well over 10k HP

Does an absurd amount of damage

Has multiple attacks that target the whole party and will use them often. These attacks make the boss run around the arena, ruining chances for spells to hit

Has a barrier that swaps between nulling physical and magical attacks. You cannot attack this thing normally.

Has a hi ougi and it will kill everything near it

Deus Ex Machina has status ailments on multiple attacks, including the HP down debuff. For some reason.

Cannot teleport like Widdershin and The Geebler, but can fly. I cannot stress enough how bad this one is. It gets multiple bullet points

Takes fucking forever and eats resources out the arse

18 minutes for two final boss phases is fucking ridiculous. Somehow not the worst (Innocence, Berseria).

The final thing Namida did was embrace The Geebler. That's beautiful. Wonderful. Could not be me.
