Ch.4 ~ Girl So Confusing...
The most mysterious and alluring woman just walked away from you and the first thing that you could think about was debriefing with Manon. Which proved to be a lot more difficult than expected because you had left the dance floor without even giving a second thought.
You took a moment and scanned the crowd to see any indication of Manon or Kazuha anywhere, but it was all in vain. You decided that the best thing you could do was find somewhere quiet to call Manon.
You made your way to the front, and when the door opened, the cool air sent a shiver down your spine. It was a good contrast from the hot and sweaty environment right on the other side. Standing on the porch, you looked for somewhere to sit and talk. You saw a bench next to a tree a bit up the sidewalk, and decided that was the perfect spot.
You finally took a seat and a deep breath, and you were just about to click 'call' before you were interrupted by a tap on the shoulder.
"Funny seeing you here, genius." A familiar voice joked as they slipped right next to you on the bench. A bit closer than you were used to, but alcohol does that to people you suppose. You never pegged Yoonchae to be a drinker, though.
"Yoonchae… literally where the hell did you come from? Are you spying on me or something?" You laughed. Yoonchae always seemed to appear at the randomest times.
Yoonchae shifted her gaze to your eyes. "Don't flatter yourself. I was coming out here to get some fresh air, but I saw you and you looked soooo lonely." Yoonchae answered with a little sarcastic pout on her face, which caused you to roll her eyes and shove the girl's shoulder.
After a moment, a thought came across your mind. "You never answered my question earlier," you stated with a smirk. "I asked if you came to this party to see me, and instead of answering you said 'I uh…' like an idiot."
Yoonchae's throat went dry. All she could do was stare at you, hoping that maybe you could just read her mind and move on to the next topic.
"Maybe I didn't answer the question because it was stupid." Yoonchae shot back. She knew it sounded childish, but she was a bit buzzed and couldn't come up with something better.
"Or maybe you didn't answer because you're afraid to admit your true feelings," you joked, completely oblivious to look of despair on the other girl's face.
"Yea, maybe I am…" Yoonchae whispered to herself, almost too quiet but you heard it anyways. It made you heart drop.
"Oh. Yoonchae, I didn't mean to—" you stammered out.
"You never mean to, do you?" Yoonchae responded, shifting to the other side of the bench. "You know, you say a lot of shit you don't mean, Y/N." she added.
She didn't even give you time to respond. Everything just started spilling out.
"I really like you, and I have for a while now. For a long time I thought you might feel the same, I mean we talk all the time a- and you say things like that," Yoonchae had began pacing in front of the bench as your eyes followed in astonishment, and before you could think, your hand had reached out to Yoonchae's.
"Yoonchae, please sit." you said as you tugged on her arm. Your words coming out as more of a whine than a command. Yoonchae complied anyway, of course she would.
"You're not crazy," you sighed, trying to collect your thoughts. You opened your mouth again to say something, but the words got stuck in your throat.
Yoonchae let out a bitter laugh and turned her entire body away, fighting the tears that were burning behind her eyes.
"Sorry for ruining your night." Yoonchae let out a deep breath.
In all the nights she spent staring at her ceiling rehearsing how this conversation might go, she never anticipated it going like this. She thought that maybe you would jump at the idea of both of you being together, I mean your rhythm together was inherent to everyone who saw. She doesn't know how she let herself get so lost in her own imagination.
"Yoonchae… I don't want to lose you. Just give me time." You pleaded, still holding Yoonchae's hand. Yoonchae wasn't even looking at you now. It left you at a loss for words. You didn't want to say something you weren't sure if you meant, but you couldn't deny that there was something there.
"Can we talk about this more? Maybe when we're not both outside of a party on a random Thursday?" You asked, your hand reaching for Yoonchae's face. You caught yourself before you made contact, too hesitant to break something that you weren't even sure was there. "Please."
"Yeah, we can." Yoonchae answered, wiping the tears that were already falling down her cheeks. She hated you seeing her like this.
"Thank you." You breathed out, relieved. Yoonchae nodded at your answer, and slowly got up. The night finally started catching up to her, and suddenly a dull ache in her muscles was all she could feel.
"You didn't ruin my night." You called out after her, broken, quiet, and unsure if she heard anything at all.
Of course she heard.
Slowly, you watched Yoonchae disappear around the corner of the street. You had completely forgot why you came outside in the first place. What a crazy night.
Before getting too lost in thought, your phone finally rang. The screen flashing 'Manon' at the top.
"Y/N! Where the hell did you go? I've walked around this house like 5 times and I haven't seen you anywhere." Manon yelled into the phone, trying to make sure that you could hear her over the music.
"Yeah, I'm outside. I came out here to call you, but I got a little caught up." You responded, your eyes drifting back to the empty space on the bench that was filled just minutes before.
"Well did you want to head home now? It's getting late and I know you said you wanted to get some studying done tonight." Manon offered. Shit. You completely forgot that you wanted to study at least a little bit.
"Yeah… um. I'll see you in a bit." You answered and then swiftly hung up.
You let out another deep breath, allowing for all of the events of tonight to settle. 'Manon is going to have so many questions.' You laughed to yourself, and after a beat you got up and walked back to your apartment.
...
After what seemed like a lifetime, you finally made it back to the apartment. As you walked up to the door and slipped your key into the lock, you felt the weight of everything rush over your body. Finally getting to step inside felt like an escape from the problems, at least for the rest of the night.
Not so long after, Manon walked through the door, thanking Kazuha for making sure she made it home safe. She immediately ran into your room, interested in learning about how your night went after you disappeared.
Before you could even register that Manon had knocked on her door, the girl ran and flopped into the space right next to you on your bed.
"So last thing I remember is 'I got a little caught up'. I'm gonna need so many more details." Manon said, kicking her feet with excitement.
"I mean, do you want me to start there, or before I made my way outside?" you asked with a sigh. Manon's body immediately flew upright with the look of shock on her face. "More happened before then? Please tell me everything."
You took a deep breath and tried to gather your thoughts and feelings and form them into coherent sentences. The night hours passed as you filled Manon in on everything that happened that night, and with every new piece of information Manon would let out an exaggerated gasp.
"Jesus Y/N… you get around huh?" Manon giggled out as she began to stand up from her place on the bed. " 'There's nothing going on between Yoonchae and I', she says. Look at you now." Manon's eyes looking into yours with the look of 'I told you so'.
"I didn't know what the hell was going to happen. I was just high on adrenaline and confused about my feelings!" You answered, shoving your head into your pillow.
"Well what are you going to do?" Manon asked, her tone becoming more caring and apologetic for the situation that her friend was going through. "I can help if you need me to. I mean, you know I'm team Yoonchae down, but I can be unbiased if you need me to."
"Manon, there are no teams! I don't even know what is going on right now." you replied defeated. "I think I just need to go to bed, and worry about all of this tomorrow."
"There's no harm in that." Manon chuckled while rubbing your back as you lie face down in despair. "Goodnight my little chaos monster," Manon whispered as she made her way to the door, "No matter what you do, you know I love you."
"I love you too, idiot." You responded and you let out one more deep breath as Manon closed the door. Even when your eyes are heavy with sleep, your mind was too loud to even think about drifting off right now. Instead you spend the time staring at your phone, debating on whether or not Lara will get that text tonight.
Against your better judgment, you picked up your phone and began to type.

Ch.3 ~ Is it Just Luck that We Met in the Club?
"Stare any longer and she might finally take the hint," Manon giggled.
Your gaze immediately shot to Manon, full of astonishment. "Take WHAT hint? Literally what are you even talking about?"
"Right… so we're going to act like you guys don't have a thing between you? Whatever I just watched happen seemed very far from platonic, that's all I have to say." Manon looked you right in your eyes in attempt to stifle whatever lie was about to leave your mouth next.
"Damn, a girl can't have any fun around here?" You asked as you looked around the room. "A little flirting never hurt anyone." You added with a shrug, smiling at yourself.
"Sure, Y/N. I love you so I'll let you live in delusion for a few hours. Anyways, we should get drinks, yeah?" Manon grabbed your hand and led you to the kitchen.
After having to push through a couple people, you guys made it to the counter and got your respective solo cups filled with some kind of alcohol that you weren't so sure of. You drank it anyways because you were at a party afterall.
As you were filling your cups, there was a girl on the opposite side of the kitchen that was the most gorgeous girl you had ever seen. She was leaning against the wall and talking to her another girl that seemed like her friend, but all you could focus on was how beautiful this girl was.
She had honey brown hair and deep brown skin, perfectly complimented by the gold jewelry that she was wearing all over her body. She was wearing tiny top and an even tinier mini skirt, but she made it work. She was ethereal.
"Y/N! Stop staring, holy shit." Manon whispered as she snapped her fingers in front of your face. "No way you're already hopping from woman to woman this early into the night." Manon joked, shaking her head with fake disappointment.
"Oh my god, shut up. I wasn't staring, I was just… admiring." You said, your eyes still gliding up and down the girl's body before turning your head toward Manon.
"Well I hate to ruin your freak party, but I really want to go see my girlfriend. Which means that I have to take you with me." Manon said as she already latched your hand into hers.
"You know I wouldn't have it any other way." You smiled.
Manon once again, as if the world bent to her will, walked through the crowds with ease.
Manon always had this air of confidence about her that you admired ever since you were both in high school. She commanded a room without ever having to even open her mouth. Her presence was enough, and you secretly hoped that confidence like that would find a way to rub off on you too. Unfortunately it hasn't yet, so you just follow behind her shine.
Your eyes were scanning the groups of drunk people for Kazuha, but she didn't seem to be anywhere. You both opted to go into the dance floor because Manon knew that Kazuha was friends with the person DJing tonight.
Manon led you deeper into the middle, hoping to find Zuha among the chaos and the incredibly loud music, and as expected she was up by the DJ booth, talking with some of her friends. When she saw you and Manon, she immediately excused herself and walked down to you.
She greeted both of you with a hug and gave Manon a little kiss on the cheek. Manon and Kazuha had been dating since the summer, and when you first met her, you didn't think she would last this long. Throughout highschool Manon was known for cycling through people. Not in a slut-shamy kind of way, but more in a women in male fields kind of way. So when Manon had talked about Kazuha the first time, you thought it was just a continuation of the past. This quickly proved itself to be set apart from the others because she stuck around, and you've grown to love that.
"Hey Y/N, are you enjoying the party so far?" Kazuha said with a proud grin. "I know you're not really the party kind of person."
"I honestly just got here, but I am really fucking with the Chase Atlantic that's been playing," You answered.
"Yeah, Jungkook is playing his set and he's been so obsessed with Chase Atlantic recently. I'll let him know that he has a fan," Kazuha said as she glanced up toward JK behind the stand.
"Maybe you can introduce Y/N and JK sometime?" Manon turned to Kazuha with a look of mischief in her eyes. You gave a puzzled look to Manon.
"What? You said you wanted a bit of entertainment in your life and adding another potential love interest tonight wouldn't hurt that." You all looked at each other and erupted with laughter.
You guys continued your conversation, the song slowly faded into The Walls and you and Manon screamed. All three of you held hands as you ran to the dance floor, jumping and singing at the top of your lungs.
…
As the night continued, Jungkook's set kept the party feeling alive. Everyone's energy was high and it felt like electricity was running through the house. At some point, FEEL LOVE by PARTYOF2 started playing and suddenly it felt the entire dance floor coupled up. This left you alone because the two people that you were at this party with were in a relationship, and unfortunately they were not looking for a third tonight.
You kept dancing hoping that maybe someone would find you, and surprisingly the method worked. As the song continued, a girl started moving with you to the beat. You couldn't make out who it was or what she looked like, but you both flowed effortlessly together, feeling the music carry your joined movements.
The song ended and finally you were able to see the girl's face. Her dark brown eyes pierced your own. Just being under the gaze of this girl was enough to make your pulse skip. It seemed as if the girl felt exactly the same, her eyes trailing up and down your face as if trying to remember every detail.
"You're gorgeous—" your mouth accidentally blurted out as you were trying to force your lungs to breathe. The girl let out a shy laugh and turned her head away to hide the slight flush coming into her cheeks.
"Thank you! You are too." She answered, her eyes meeting yours again. You could swear that your heart stopped beating. "A- Are you a student here?" You were able to stutter out, attempting to calm the pulsing inside your chest. "I don't think I've ever seen you around before."
"Yeah, I am. I'm Lara." She said offering her hand out with smile that gave you goosebumps.
"I'm Y/N." You answered with a shameless smile, grabbing her hand.
"Cute." Lara smiled back, "Follow me, Y/N."
You followed her stride with ease as he led you off of the dance floor to a little spot by the couch. You would like to believe that maybe if you weren't a few drinks in you would have told Manon where you were going, but the alcohol lowered your inhibitions and there was pretty girl flirting with you.
You both fell into easy conversation. Talking about school, extracurricular activities, etc, but there was a tension growing between you two that would only get stronger every time your eyes met.
While you were too busy making a joke, attempting hear a laugh that you were already growing fond of, a girl with dyed pink bangs approached and whispered something in Lara's ear. Immediately Lara's focus shifted from you to her friend on her opposite side, which caused you to stop talking mid-sentence.
You watched the two girls talk with confusion on your face that slowly devolved into disinterest. You weren't going to suddenly be third-wheeling whatever was happening right in front of your face.
You went to stand and walk back to the dance floor in attempt to find Manon.
'I didn't walk far, so she should be close…right?' You thought to yourself as your eyes scanned the crowded dance floor.
Your search was interrupted when Lara grabbed your hand.
"Wait, where are you going?" Lara asked with a slight pout.
"You looked like you were having a good conversation. Didn't want to get in the way of that." You stated, not harsh but direct. You wanted to let her know that even though you just met tonight, you're not willing to be someone's second option.
"Okay, fair. But…" Lara laughed and shook her head, "I didn't know we were already doing the jealousy thing, Y/N. I kinda like this look on you."
"Okay, whatever. I'm not jealous," You answered with a slight laugh, "I just know how to read a situation."
Lara frowned and brushed her thumb over the back of your hand. You hadn't even realized she was still holding it.
"I don't want you to leave." Lara answered seriously, her eyes meeting yours again with the same intensity as they were when you were dancing. "My friend, her name is Megan, and she was just letting me know that our group is about to go. I was letting her know that I wasn't leaving before I was done talking to you."
"Ohhhh, is that what it is?" You said with a smile growing on your face, "I'm that interesting to you, huh?"
"I think that you're cute." Lara replied as she stepped a bit closer, closing the distance between your bodies. You could feel the heat coming from the other girl's frame.
"How about I give you my number and you promise to text me later, yeah?" Lara asked, her breath ghosting the shell of your ear as she leaned in closer.
"I would love that." You answered extremely flustered, which earned a giggle from Lara.
You reached in your pocket and handed Lara your phone, your fingers brushing for a brief moment. She quickly typed her number in and handed the phone back to you. "Promise you'll text me?" Lara asked, gazing at you through half-lidded eyes, making your stomach turn in knots. "I promise."
Slowly Lara's hand moved up to your jaw, and her thumb traced over your bottom lip. The room suddenly felt quieter and the air felt thinner as your focused shifted solely to the woman in front of you. After a moment of letting the tension build, you attempted to close the distance.
Before your lips could meet, Lara suddenly pulled back. Megan and a few of their other friends came to take her away.
"Okayyy, give me a second. Please." Lara begged one of the girls. She had long curly brown hair and you could've swore that you share a class this semester.
Lara quickly turned her attention back to you, looking deeply into your eyes. The music was so loud, yo could feel the bass in your chest, or maybe it was just how fast your heart was beating right now.
"I really hope I see you again, Y/N. Promise you'll text me just one more time." Lara said as she held out her pinky, another shy smile appearing on her face. "I pinky swear I will, Lara." You beamed as you wrapped your pinky around Lara's, kissed your thumb, and pressed it to Lara's to seal the promise.
"I'll be waiting Y/N! And maybe you can get that kiss next time—" Lara said as she finally started walking away back toward her friends. Your eyes followed intensely, mesmerized as the girl disappeared back into the crowd.

"I never thought that you guys made sense anyways. You were always too good for him." Lara turns to you, watching your face as if she's searching for something that you can't quite put your finger on.
"Don't say that." You chuckle weakly, more out of defeat than amusement. "It wasn't always bad, you know that."
"I know you and I could tell that you weren't happy." Lara states, putting her hand over yours on the center console and giving it a reassuring squeeze. "You need to know that you deserve ten times better than him."
"I guess." You reply, turning your head.
"Now let me get you home before your parents try to beat my ass." Lara says after a beat of silence. She slowly takes her hand off of yours and puts the car in drive.
The drive home was short, but it felt so much longer. Many things did after you went through your breakup with Jay. You guys were together for two years and you would consider him your first love, your first everything.
You aren't too sure when it all started to fall apart around you, but suddenly all of the warmth that you found in your relationship faded. You and Jay used to talk every day; he was so sweet—your perfect boy. He would buy you flowers and your favorite candy on your anniversaries and be there to hold you when you felt like the world was ending. He was your person.
The last few months you two were together, you didn't even talk anymore. You would walk past each other in the hallway without even acknowledging the other; it was hell. It was tearing you apart from the inside. Everyone saw it. Until one day you couldn't take it anymore and you broke up with him. It wasn't easy, but it was necessary.
Even though you try to hide it, you're still heartbroken. Every single time his name gets brought up, a piece of your heart feels like it's being torn from your body. You still love him. But it's been months since the breakup and he's moved on, so you try your best to do the same.
"Hellooo, Earth to Y/N!" Lara waves her hand in front of your face. "We're at your house, silly."
You turn to look out the windshield and there, in fact, was your home. You were so deep in thought you hadn't even realized.
"Are you okay? Like really?" Lara asked with genuine concern in her eyes. "You keep like zoning out and then coming back to life."
"Yesss Lara, I'm okay." You lie. It feels easier than telling the truth.
"Okay, if you say so. You know you can talk to me, right? Even if it's about the bitch that broke your heart." Lara comforted, her hand coming up to tuck a piece of hair behind your ear.
"I would but I kinda have to go inside now." You giggled as you took her hand from your face and held it in yours. "But I truly appreciate it."
Your eyes met hers and the way her gaze lingered on you made a lump form in your throat. She's looking at you too deep for you to handle right now.
"Okay, well I'll see you tomorrow." You say as you quickly turn to grab your bag from the backseat, eager to break eye contact. "Thank you for distracting me tonight."
"Anytime you need it, you know I'm here for you. I love being your distraction."
The words lingered in your head as you walked towards the front door.
—
It feels like the world finally quiets once you close the door to your room. You can finally just drown in the noise of your phone and drain any excess thoughts.
You drop your bag onto the floor and flop face first into your mattress. Suddenly your phone buzzed in your back pocket.
Lara had just posted on instagram. In the first picture, you were sipping boba from the cup that Lara was holding and she was looking at you with the biggest smile. The second one was a picture of the burgers that you guys had ordered and ate in her trunk while the sun was setting in the background. And the third was picture that she took of you when you weren't looking; your eyes too glued onto the movie that you guys were watching.
‘These are so cute.’ You thought to yourself.
You quickly commented something sweet and then went back to staring at the pictures, specifically the first one.
Lara looked beautiful. Even though you technically were at the center of the photo, your eyes lingered on how Lara's hair fell over her face and that smile. You'd never seen anything like it.
With the thought lingering in your head, you quickly lock your phone and drop it by your head.
She's your best friend and you just got out of a relationship, you shouldn't be feeling like this. But you couldn't deny that she literally made your head spin. Every single time she touched you, it set your skin on fire.
You thought back to Lara's hand, touching your face when she pushed back your hair, and how it felt like her eyes were undressing you right there. Your thighs clenched together.
You shouldn't feel like this. You shouldn't get this wet at the thought of your best friend.
Slowly, your hands started making their way down your body. Finding themselves between your legs, one hand pulling your panties tight against your core while the other dragged a finger over your clit. You let out a small whimper, your tongue immediately going to wet your bottom lip.
You wanted so bad for these touches to be hers. You craved it. The thought of Lara on top of you with her fingers deep inside your pussy, stretching you out, is all you've been wanting.
Every hang out, every friendly date, every time she came to be your distraction. You needed her more than you could ever admit.
You slid off your panties and tossed them somewhere on the floor and quickly slipped two fingers inside of you. Pumping in and out easily from how wet you were from imagining her lips all over you.
"Fuck, Lara…" You whispered out like the words were sacred, something too fragile to be said out loud.
You thrust into your fingers sloppily, chasing that feeling in your stomach that you could feel growing with every single pass.
Your other hand came up to release your tits from your bra, and you tease your already hard nipples. The dual sensation made you groan in pleasure.
You could imagine Lara's beautiful eyes looking up at you as she kissed down your body until she was between your legs. Her gaze locking straight onto yours while she tasted you slow and deep. Her hands all over your body as she was giving you pleasure right where you needed her.
"Oh my god." You moan out, feeling yourself coming closer to the edge. You're so fucking close.
You quickly pull your fingers out and begin massaging your clit with the perfect pressure, making your eyes roll back. Your pussy clenches around nothing as you finally let go, teasing yourself through your climax.
The thought of her touch still lingering on your body.
If only you knew that Lara needed you much more than you could've ever imagined.

Ch.2 ~ Jealousy, Jealousy
The rest of the day proceeded slowly, just as any day would. You walked from class to class and passed the time by talking to some familiar faces.
A few hours before the party, you and Manon found yourselves back at your apartment getting ready at the same time.
"Manon!" you called into the hallway, "What should I wear tonight?"
Too busy doing her makeup to come help, Manon answered: "Something cool. Honestly you can dress how you normally dress. You turn heads anyways."
You blushed at the compliment and slipped back into your room. Now a mess from the past hour that you've spent trying to put together your outfit.
Somewhere among the chaos, you decided to put on something a little bit more than casual. You put on some low-waisted jeans with a bedazzled belt around your waist, and a fitted tank top that showed your figure perfectly.
"Perfect." You said to yourself as you check it out in the mirror.
After getting dressed, you went across the hallway to show Manon, but she wasn't in her room. By the time that you walked back to yours, a bit disappointed, you realized that Manon had texted you about 30 minutes ago:
Manu💕: i wanted to get to the party early so i js left. i tried to call you but you didn't answer. so fake.
Anyways here's the addy: KKT House
You giggled to yourself while reading the text and went back to finish up getting ready. You just had to put on some light makeup, and then you were ready to go.
...
The music from the house could be heard down the street, but nothing less is expected from a college town.
The night air was warm, which was perfect because that meant that you could take your time walking up to the door. You took this time to get yourself into the party mindset. As you approached the house, you found it easier to slip into that head space because of the music that you could hear blaring from the speakers 120 feet away. Against your will, you found yourself bouncing your head and mouthing the lyrics to Okay by Chase Atlantic.
"Wowww. Someone is really enjoying the music, huh?" a familiar voice called out from behind you. The same voice that was annoying you through the hallways just a few hours ago.
"You know, you're kind of cute when you're in your own world." Yoonchae chuckled as she slowly approached. You tried to fight it, but she could see the slight blush creeping onto your face. Your hands went up to try and cover it, but it was already too late.
After a moment, Yoonchae went to pull your hands from your face, hesitant at first but she decided to do it anyways. You let out a long sigh and flipped Yoonchae off when you saw the stupid grin plastered on her face.
"Shut up… Whatever." You huffed out as you went to push the girl's shoulder and continue your walk up to the house.
Yoonchae faked being hurt and gave a weak laugh before she caught back up to you.
"So, what really made you want to come to the party tonight? Did you just really want to see me, but you don't want to admit it?" Yoonchae teased as she nudged you with her elbow.
"As much as I know you want that to be true, I didn't come for you. I see you enough as it is." You answered, rolling your eyes at the confidence—or arrogance—you couldn't really decide. "I came because Manon asked me to."
"Ah yes… Meret Manon." Yoonchae breathed out, more to herself than to you. "Your best friend, right?"
"Oooh be careful Yoonchae, I'm feeling some jealousy coming from over there." You said as you waved your hands in Yoonchae's direction. That earned a small giggle from the girl.
"Why would I ever be jealous of Manon, she's… the goat." Yoonchae awkwardly smiled.
"Yeah… never say that shit again. I don't think even you believe what you just said." You said throwing your head back with a laugh. Yoonchae was not being subtle at all.
"Actually… why did you come to the party tonight? It was kind of out the blue when you asked if I was coming earlier." You turned to Yoonchae which caused both of you to stop walking completely. It didn't really matter anyways because you finally made it to the door after what felt like an eternity.
"I didn't come for any specific reason or anything. Honestly, I was just taking a shot in the dark when I asked you earlier. I guess I just wanted to know." Yoonchae answered with a shrug, not really understanding where the conversation was going.
"So really you just wanted to see me, huh?" You asked slyly with a smile that already suspected the answer.
"I uh-" Yoonchae stammered out. Suddenly the door to the house flung open. The loud music seeped out as two people came stumbling out and apologized for almost hitting you guys with the door.
Caught off guard, you both shared a laugh as you stepped inside. The smell of cologne, weed, and cheap alcohol filled the air immediately. Without thinking, you grabbed onto Yoonchae's hand in attempt to keep close.
"Is that THE Y/N L/N I see?" The girls heard coming from the left side of the door. Like she was just waiting for you to walk through the door, Manon ran and basically jumped onto you. This caused you to stop holding Yoonchae's hand in order to catch her. It was something little, but Yoonchae noticed the absence immediately.
The sudden weight also threw you off balance, causing you to slightly fall into Yoonchae. Even though it wasn't enough to make you fall over, Yoonchae's hand still found its way to the middle of your back, propping you up just in case.
"Oh, and hello to you too, Yoonchae!" Manon said with a huge smile as patted her skirt down and collected herself.
"Hey Manon," Yoonchae responded, her eyes flying between you and Manon as they stood together. She hated how she couldn't get that close to you. It was so easy for Manon to be in your space. 'So just fuck me, huh?' Yoonchae thought as she almost rolled her eyes at the sight.
After a beat of awkward silence, you turned your attention back to Yoonchae. "So, are you just gonna hang around me for the entire night or do you have other friends here?"
"Oh, so you admit that you and I are friends? You finally admit it?" Yoonchae asked with a smirk.
"I meant friend extremely loosely," you said with a laugh as you stepped a bit closer to Yoonchae, causing your shoulders to brush. Yoonchae stepped in a bit closer too, hoping that you would notice.
"I do actually have other friends here, so maybe I'll see you later?" Yoonchae answered, which sounded more like a promise than an invitation. "Don't have too much fun without me."
"How could I possibly do that?" You responded as you pushed Yoonchae into the crowd. Your eyes lingered as you watched Yoonchae disappear into the countless bodies in the center of the room, and Yoonchae's eyes found yours too as she faded away.

Can't Wait to Fall Apart with You

Ch.1 ~ I Don't Even Like You that Much...
The smell of coffee was always a grounding scent.
It meant that there was finally enough time to study without fear of being interrupted, and if we're being honest, you loved studying. Correction: you loved studying math. It came easy to you, it always had.
However, some lessons of Advanced Calculus beat your ass, and unfortunately those lessons happen to be the lessons that you have a test over in a few days.
This meant that you were spending any free time you had at your favorite cafe with all the materials you could ever need. You had already gotten your usual order, a Caramel Vanilla Latte, and brought your own reinforcements—a redbull—and you were ready to lock in.
As you were deep into pulling formulas from your notes and plugging them into practice equations, you get a text:
Manu💕: wya rn?
Y/N: studying… why?
Manu💕: i'll be there in like 10 minutes
Y/N: what do you need now 😭
Manon was your roommate, and also your best friend for the longest time. All throughout high school you guys orbited each other, even when you didn't have any classes together.
You guys stayed close, and when you realized that you were going to the same college, both of you decided that it would be perfect to get a place together.
You really appreciated Manon for being there for you whenever you needed her, and it was the same the other way around. You guys like to think that you guys are platonic soulmates.
After about 10 minutes had passed, the bell dinged above the door and Manon flew into the chair across from you. She seemed out of breath for whatever reason, which intrigued you as to what she was doing before she came inside.
"Y/N" Manon breathed out, her chest rising and falling rapidly. "You need to come to this party with me tomorrow."
You laughed so hard before answering, amused by the fact that she's acting as if this is a life or death situation.
"I don't like parties Manon, you literally know this," you answered, waving off Manon as you began the next equation. It was about evaluating limits… you HATE evaluating limits.
"Y/N, this is so serious," Manon huffed, snatching the pencil from your hand. "You're going to turn into a damn equation if you keep staring at that textbook, and I really need another girl to come to this party with me. What better person than my favorite in the world?" Manon said sweetly, holding out the pencil in front of your face.
Your eyes narrowed as you considered.
You knew that Manon was just using flattery in order to get the answer she wants, but maybe it wouldn't have been such a bad idea to go to a party just this once.
"I mean… I guess I can make an appearance this one time." you answered, taking the pencil.
"Thank God! Y/N you are my life saver," Manon squealed out as she almost jumped across the table to give you a kiss on the cheek.
"Literally what would you do without me?" you asked sarcastically, tossing your hair to the side. Before Manon could even think of answering she got a call from her girlfriend, Kazuha.
She quickly excused herself and told you that she'll see you back at the apartment.
You chuckled to yourself as you watched Manon rush out the door. Once she was out of sight, you returned right back to your studies.
…
The day of the party started off pretty normal.
You spent your day floating through the corridors of the university, walking from class to class with ease.
The first class you had was a morning class, which was extremely unfortunate, but having morning classes gave you a reason to actually start your day.
You opted to wear something casual and comfy because at the end of the day, there isn't anyone in your classes that you want to impress.
You put on a pair of baggy jeans and cropped polo that paired nice with you dark brown docs and your messenger bag.
Because you were a freshman, most of your classes were General Education classes. You had decided to major in Computer Engineering, so most of the classes were math or science related.
Chemistry was definitely one of your least favorite subjects, but what made it more insufferable was the fact that there was this girl in your class that couldn't stop talking to you.
You aren't ever against some good banter, but this girl pressed buttons only your younger sister could reach.
The girl's name is Yoonchae. Yoonchae was the same exact age as you and not only did you both share Chem 101 together, but you also shared Calculus together.
As you entered the classroom, you slid into your seat quietly and waited patiently for the lecture. You had already taken out your laptop and your notebook, prepared to not miss a single sentence that came from your professor's mouth. Someone took their usual seat next to you, poking her on the side.
"Hello, super genius," Yoonchae said with a smile. "Are you ready to slop up the easiest work there ever was? That's all you ever do in this class anyways." She lets out a giggle as she grabbed for her bag to get out her notebook.
You just sighed and rolled your eyes.
"Not today, Yoonchae. I'm just trying to get through this class and get out," you said as you watched Yoonchae reach for her materials. "Try not to be annoying for once in your life."
You can admit that you were being a bit mean to Yoonchae right now, unfairly. It's not like the behavior is new, but you just wanted to get through the day.
Despite your initial reluctance, you were kind of looking forward to the party tonight.
Yoonchae just looked at you, contemplating saying something back or just remaining quiet.
"Yeah, okay. I'll leave you to it then." Yoonchae muttered as she turned away, effectively leaving you alone.
Surprisingly, she really did leave you alone for a good majority of the lecture after that. Usually whenever your professor would stop talking, Yoonchae would make some kind of comment poking fun at how focused you looked on work you going to 'fail anyway', but this time, silence.
Not normal silence. It was heavy, creating a weird tension between you both that you didn't acknowledge, but you both could feel.
At some point you got tired of the weird vibe between the two of you, so you nudged Yoonchae's leg with your foot under the table.
Yoonchae turned to you almost offended, hoping to find some kind of explanation, but instead she saw you writing away in your notebook as if nothing happened with a hint of a smirk on your face.
As your professor resumed the lecture, you nudged Yoonchae again, this time making her giggle.
This descended into a bunch of kicking each other back and forth and laughing in between. Like two middle schoolers.
Sometime before the lecture ended, you both had stopped messing with one another and decided to pay attention. You were finishing up your notes as the class was ending.
You had written everything down, but you had to highlight some specifics and bold some others. When you were finally done, a satisfied smile on your lips.
Yoonchae's eyes hadn't left you since the lecture ended.
She watched the way that you swiftly moved from typing on your laptop to writing something down in your notebook. She watched how your eyebrows furrowed when you were focused and saw every time you would stick out your tongue when writing down equations.
Yoonchae thought that it was one of the cutest things she'd ever seen. She caught herself wondering how you developed these habits, and if you even knew that you did these small things.
She must have gotten carried away too deep in thought because by the time she came back to reality, you were staring back at her with your eyebrows furrowed.
"What the hell are you looking at?" you asked as while sliding your belongings back into your bag. "I know I look good, but you can stop drooling over me. Geez."
"I was just trying to get a good look of what stupidity looks like, and damn, it looks strikingly similar to your face." Yoonchae answered quickly, hoping that it would be enough to satiate your curiosity. It was.
Yoonchae quickly caught up to you as you were walking out to the hallway and decided to walk with you to wherever you were going. Yoonchae didn't have a class after. You didn't know that though.
"Soooo… did you hear about the party tonight at KKT?" Yoonchae asked to break the silence between you both.
"Actually, yeah I did." you said with a big smile on your face, but suddenly realization hit you. "Wait… please don't tell me that you're going to be there too," you said, stopping Yoonchae by grabbing her shoulder and turning your bodies to face one another.
Yoonchae looked at your hand and smiled before she pushed it off of her. "Awww, you know I will be. I'm just a bit surprised that little Miss Scholar is having any fun the night before our Calc test."
"Haha Yoonchae, you are just on a roll," you answered, your words soaked with sarcasm. "I guess I'll never fucking get rid of you," you added as you continued to walk down the hallway.
Yoonchae just watched as you walked away, coming back to reality before you could get too far away.
"I guess you won't!" Yoonchae shouted after you, before she caught up to you. "But let's not lie to ourselves, you know you love me."
"I barely even like you." you retorted.
To anyone else these words would seem harsh, but to Yoonchae it was like music. She smiled to herself as she continued to walk with you to whatever destination you were headed to, with her eyes every so often drifting to her left and meeting the peaceful look on your face.
