A physical therapist will look at your condition upon the referral of of a medical professional. You will not be able to see a PT without a referral, so be sure to get one first.

For In Patients: 1. Get referred to the Rehab Department. Following your in-patient procedure, you will be referred to the rehab department of your hospital. 2. See a physiatrist. A physiatrist will evaluate your condition and provide your rehab prescription. As with an out-patient procedure, you will need the physiatrist’s referral to see a physical therapist.

A private clinic run by physical therapists may also send a PT to visit you in your home without the need for a prescription. While direct access to a physical therapist is not permitted in the Philippines, a private clinic may send a physical therapist to your home as the first contact for your situation.

The Difference
