A long groan escaped him as the young man stretched back in his chair. It wasn’t very often he let down his guard around people, but this one was an exception. It was hard to imagine their first meeting had been so long ago–and happened by her accidentally judo-throwing him into a wall, of all things. She’d offered to make amends by helping him study for an upcoming test and… Well, somehow they’d formed a bizarre friendship from it.
“So, for this problem, you’d… No, wait, that’s not right…”
An exorcist heir and a future Olympian, studying for a Calculus exam.
“Ah, damn it. What am I doing wrong, here?”
He felt like there was a missing punchline somewhere in this.
“Well, first, you’re completely forgetting pie. It should fit right there.”
Pyrrha’s pencil hits Naoto’s work, the Olympian making a quick circle motion after she makes contact. “Second, you’re over-complicating the problem. It’s rather simple.”
Although their friendship was an odd one, Pyrrha couldn’t help but feel grateful to know Naoto. Sure, he was always there with some Dust or Stars when she needed, but Pyrrha mostly just enjoyed the boy’s company. She just wished Naoto put a little more time into his plans for the future. And maybe wasn’t foolish enough to be caught in a judo-throw. “You’re on the right track, at least.” Pyrrha chuckled, finding fun in their exchange.
“If you need to, we can take a break. I know working on homework for too long can cause long term stress, and I don’t want that.”
