I’ve been sitting on this picture for months, waiting for the context and moment to post it, but I’ve realized that it doesn’t need context and it needs to be out in the world.

You know what really makes me angry? When someone buys a dog off a “breeder” who was thrown out of all official clubs because they don’t abide the rules (which are there to protect the animals) and just breed to “experiment”. When said dog has the worst structure ever, almost died as a puppy due to kidney problems and has unknown health problems now (which for some reason don’t get tested for). When this “breeder” has another litter now from the same mother and the person with the sick dog is thinking about buying one.

The first dog, alright, didn’t do research, could have happened. Now they KNOW about the breeder and want to support this bullshit? I’m just so mad. Why are people like this. Those poor dogs.

Might just go to show how “sold” some people are on their breeders and/or how some people are absolutely incapable of separating how they feel about their dog and the quality of their dog. 

Unless they just don’t give a shit, in which case, why do they bother to own animals at all??

While I definitely agree with the general sentiment of this post, 100%, I want to clarify that it can be incredibly easy to be dismissed from a kennel club. That’s not “all” clubs, but my kennel club in particular does a name and shame list for breeders producing x amount of dogs a year (regardless of if they have others working under them to help raise puppies, regardless if the dogs are worked, titled, health tested, etc.), and will also remove your dogs, and eventually, you, if you title in conformation. While, again, it’s not “all official clubs,” it can be incredibly easy to have it done in my breed for our main club. Just wanting to make sure people are aware of that.

I get being loyal to a breeder but they have a barely 10 month old dog that already needs daily medication, and want to add another one like that??? They were TOLD about the "breeder" and told me that they would have never bought a puppy if they knew. But that's forgotten now that there are puppies.

Oh it's not that easy to be thrown out here, and generally rules are very different than in America... I've talked to several other breeders who know this one personally and they actually would deserve more than that, they shouldn't own dogs at all... they actually told people they want to experiment with the dogs. And even after they were thrown out they tried to sell dogs with papers they'd never get (someone said they even forged them but I don't know for sure)

But my problem is mainly with the person wanting to get another puppy from them...

There's nothing that could be done about the "breeder" as they can breed dogs as they want now that they are out of the club. Every animal breeder needs to be inspected by an official vet (idk what that's called in English) and it seems they passed this inspection... it's about how the dogs are living, and not about what is bred though.
