Seventeen years. Six thousand two hundred and five days. Thatâs how long youâve known each other. You met your best friend when you were both toddlers. Your mothers were best friends in college, and when your family moved back to Miyagi, you got your first best friend, Iwaizumi Hajime.Â
Reminiscing on your past memories, there are few memories that donât include Hajime. Both childhood homes are littered with pictures of you both from diapers through college with a few recent shots sprinkled in, but pictures of the both of you together became rarer and rarer as you got older. As you look throughout your parentsâ living room, your eyes fondly land on a picture of you, Hajime, and Oikawa Tooru, the chaotic drama queen of your trio. The three of you were about ten at the time and inseparable.Â
âIwa-chan,â Tooru teased, âdonât be jealous [Y/N]-chan is better than you.â The brunette girl laughed hysterically at the memory of scoring a point against Hajime--whose face so clearly crinkled in frustration.Â
âIâm not jealous, dummy,â retorted Hajime with a huff and a swat at the back of Tooruâs head.Â
The three of you were walking towards the gym doors where your parents were waiting for you to finish. You were laughing and pointing at your companions who had been bickering since practice had ended. âI think you are, Hajime,â you said with a smirk. However, when you caught Hajimeâs eye, you squealed and took off at a sprint before he could get the same smack to the back of your head that he had given Tooru.Â
At that, it was Tooruâs turn to cackle at the spectacle as he chased after you and Hajime. When he caught up, he had to hold in his snickers because Hajime was getting scolded for trying to hit you. Catching your eye, the two of you smirked smugly at Hajimeâs misfortune with matching mischievousâŻtwinkles in your eyes.Â
The two of you loved causing chaos and especially enjoyed when you were off the hook for starting it all. Hajime glared fiercely at his two best friends while getting lectured for not treating his friends properly.Â
When the lecture ended, the parents got the three of you to pose for a picture. You were flanked by Tooru and a grumpy Hajime.Â
The picture was one of your favorites because it showed your personalities so well. Growing up, the two boys treated you like one of the guys, but you were definitely the princess of the group. You were always between the two of them, and you practically glowed when the three of you were together. The joy evident in your eyes complete with a bright smile. Tooruâs smiled from ear to ear, a volleyball at his hipâtruly happy to have just played the game he loved with his favorite people. Hajime on the other hand had a straight face, stoic as always, but because you knew him so well, you saw the happiness in his eyes from being with his friends and playing volleyball.Â
With a sigh, you continued your walk to your childhood bedroom and was overwhelmed with nostalgia. You could practically see your two childhood best friends as soon as you breached the doorwayâTooru on your bed leaning up against your headboard and Hajime at your desk chair absentmindedly swinging from side to side. The frame on your nightstand caught your eye, and your heart clenched at the memory.Â
âWe did it!â You exclaimed, swinging your arms around your best friendsâ waists.âŻÂ Â
Hajime, eyes sparkling with excitement, ruffled your hair before teasing, âOf course, we did. Shittykawa over here is the only surprise.â He pointed at Oikawa making you laugh loudly at Oikawaâs indignant face.Â
âIwa-chan!â The former captain whined. âSo mean!â His pout quickly dissipated as he joined in his best friendsâ laughter. Â
Overwhelmed with a mix of anxiety and excitement of what comes next and the realization that you were all going your separate ways, you grasped both of their hands tightly and asked, âDo you remember our promise?âÂ
Tooruâs eyes widened in surprise at the grasp on his hand before softening at the look in your eyes. âOf course. Nothingâs going to change. Thatâs what FaceTime is for, chibi-chan.â He squeezed your hand tightly in an effort to comfort you, knowing that the upcoming weeks were going to be tough. The three of you had never been apart for long.Â
âHaji-kun?â You asked your stoic best friend, tugging on his hand lightly.Â
âLike I really have a choice. My mom has practically adopted you at this point, dummy.â He responded with a flush, not comfortable with having such a soft moment in public.Â
âI canât believe that in a couple weeks you guys are going to be leaving me. Iâm gonna be here in Japan without you.â Eyes glossy, you looked up at both of your best friends. âBut we love each other, and thatâs all that matters.âÂ
Before either boy could respond, your parents called for the three of you to get together for the last picture at Aoba Johsai. Your arms around both of your boys, and theirs around youâsmiles adorning all three of your faces.Â
That was one of the last memories you had togetherâwell, carefree and happy together. Two weeks after that picture, you couldnât hold back your tears as you helped both of your best friends pack up their rooms and prepare for their moves across the world.Â
Hajime moved to California to study and eventually become an athletic trainer. Funnily enough, his mentor ended up being related to the one person Hajime and Tooru could never beat in volleyball. You smile softly at the memory of that particular discovery. Hajime graduated and even became the athletic trainer for the Japanese National Team, and you were so glad that he was back in Japan again. The two of you maintained a strong relationship during university despite the difference, and you were able to pick up right back where you left off when he left after graduation especially considering the both of you were in Tokyo (not that you had much of a choice because our moms continue to be best friends to this day). However, the same could not be said for your relationship with Tooru.Â
Tooru pursued his professional career in Argentina, and honestly, you couldnât be more proud of him. You experienced all of his ups and downs, his devastation of never achieving his dream of going to beating Shiratorizawa and attending Nationals. The fact that he led the Argentinian National Team in the Olympics was proof of his hard work and dedication. You knew that heâd get success wherever he went, and youâre glad heâs happy. ButâŻthisâŻwas not how you thought it would go. Never in a million years did you think that youâd be watching his successes from a distance, you thoughtâhowever naive that thought had beenâthat you and Hajime would be there next to him.Â
Itâs been years since the three of you were last happy together, and your heart dropped into your stomach as your eyes scanned the multitude of pictures while your mind fast forwarded through all of the memories with your trioâturned duo. There was hardly a big moment in your life where you didnât have them both, one at each side, but in recent years, your contact with Tooru steadily decreased.Â
He began missing your weekly FaceTime dates. He gradually stopped reaching out and responding to your group chat, and eventually, it was like he was a stranger. However, you couldnât just allow him to slip through your fingers. How many people can really say theyâve kept the same best friends since childhood? It was worth it to you. . . Â
You were nearing your graduation of university and were talking to Hajime excitedly because you had just landed an interview for your dream job, and he had told you that his move back to Japan was timed to allow him to be there for your ceremony. You had been tidying up your apartment when you noticed that the phone line had gotten silent. âHaji-kun?â You askedânot knowing that your life was about to get flipped upside down.Â
_âHave you talked to Oikawa lately?â The former ace responded slowly.__ _
Your brow furrowed at the question as you thought back to the last time you had spoken to him. âI mean, itâs been awhile. His birthday probably, but you know itâs difficult with the time difference and all. Besides, heâs so busy playing professionally. Iâm so proud of him.âÂ
_Completely confused and beginning to get upset, you inquired, âDonât know what?â__ _
âHe made it on the Argentinian National Team . . .â responded Hajime, trailing off.Â
_ __âWhat?â You excitedly said. âI**⯠always **âŻknew he could do it! . . . Wait, why donât you sound excited, Haji?â At this point, you had stopped sweeping your kitchen floor because Hajimeâs tone seemed hurt. _
âHe didnât even tell us. He made itâŻweeksâŻago.âÂ
âIâm sure he meant to. You know how he gets when heâs excited!â You tried to say with a positive note. âBesides, he has every right to be excited. I mean, this is what heâs been working for his whole life. This is a dream come true!â The phone line was silent for a long moment, allowing your anxiety to begin taking over. âIs there something else? What could he possibly have done to get this response, Hajime? Are you getting soft over there?â You teased in an effort to lighten the mood.Â
The broom in your hand dropped, and the color drained from your face. Your heart beginning to break at the thought that your Tooru-kun, your favorite drama queen, could get married and not say a word to his best friends, the people whoâve been there with him through it all. You had no idea he had even been seeing anyone let alone seeing somebody seriously. âWhat?â You whispered.Â
âLast weekend. Shittykawa got married, and we werenât even told.â Hajime said with a break in his voice.Â
Hearing Hajimeâs voice break caused an outpour of your own emotions. âHe wouldnât do that. He could never. He promised. He promised nothing was going to change! Nothing! How could he do something like this? I didnât even know that he was seeing anyone at all let alone someone seriously, you ranted.Â
âWhat happened? He didnât even call. . .â Your eyes widened in realization at the fact that you hadnât actually heard his voice in months, a few messages here and there, but no calls. Â
You thought out loud, âHe hasnât called in months. He didnât even tell us he was seeing anyone? All of the years. . .â Your voice cracked. â. . .I understand not answering every FaceTime and every text. I mean, I know can get a bit needy sometimes especially when stressed. You guys know that, which is why usually I donât expect you guys to answer. I just want someone to listen to me whine and complain. . . But when did we grow this far apart? To where we arenât even told that he has someone?âÂ
The phone line filled with a heavy silence. Hajime sighed deeply before responding, âI donât have those answers. Youâre going to have to ask him yourself.âÂ
You remembered the pain of the subsequent conversation with the now-Argentinian citizen. It crushed your whole being. The Tooru that you knew was someone of the past, and you barely recognized the person on the other end of the line. His lack of desire to rebuild your broken friendshipâŻbrokeâŻyou. Figuring out a time to talk it out on the phone was easier than you thought it would be, but you wish it hadnât been because maybe if it was, then you couldâve lived in your little bubble a little longer. Â
âI miss you. For every big accomplishment the three of us ever had, weâve always had each other. Always. But do you know how hurt I felt hearing that not only did you make it on the Argentinian National Teamâwhich Iâm so incredibly proud of you for doing by the wayâbut you didnât tell me you got married. You got married and you couldnât tell me. ME! Your best friend. . .Â
âOr at least, I thought I was. I get that we have this ocean between us now but come on. When have I ever not been there for you? Iâll answer that question for you. Never. You know . . . well, you should have anyway, that Iâm a phone call away. No matter the time. Seventeen years is a long time; I thought it wouldnât matter. I thought the distance wouldnât matter because it wouldnât matter how long we go without talking that we could always pick back up where we left off. I thought that youâd let me know whatâs going on especially when something as big as this is happening. I know that I would have done so if I were youâ You sobbed.Â
Sighing, Oikawa responded, âWell, things have been a bit busy. IâŻamâŻa professional athlete now, [Y/N]. Iâve got to keep to my schedule, and itâs tough with the time difference with you guys. I mean, you couldâve called and checked in too, ya know. Donât put the blame on me. The phone works both ways.âÂ
âThe phone works both ways,â you repeat as if pondering the statement. However, as upset as you are at his absence, those words infuriated you more. âThe phone! Works! Both! Ways!â You yelled angrily swiping at the tears falling down your face. âAre you kidding me? Thatâs your response to why you didnât tell me you were achieving your dreams and getting marriedâwhich are both huge events in your life. You didnât think that, despite my not reaching out to you, which is totally my bad, but you didnât think that Iâd want to know that those things are happening?! You know, I could care less for your busy schedule; Iâve been there since the beginning. Or did you forget who picked you time every time you lost? Did you forget who pulled you out of the gym before you reached your limit? I was there. I know youâre busy, but I thought that as one of your oldest friends that I deserved a courtesy call at least!âÂ
âI canât believe this. Maybe, I shouldâve called more, but you couldâve answered the phone or called me back. Like before this, I donât even remember the last time I heard your voice, and I mean, it was fine. I understood due to the time difference and you being busy. But you donât get to throw it back in my face, when I tried. . . â Deflated, you whimper, âI tried.âÂ
After a long pause, Oikawa said, âWell, I donât know what you want me to do. Itâs done.âÂ
Your heart stopped at his words, and you immediately felt ill. âWhat?â you breathe. Â
âItâs done. What do you want from me?âÂ
âWhat do I want from you?â You respond softly. No longer feeling like the conversation was worth it and not recognizing the person on the other line. âI wanted an apology. I wanted my best friend. But youâre right itâs done. . . This is done.â Â
You never heard the completed statement. You hit âEndâ and felt the gravity of it all crash around you. Sobs wreaked havoc on your body as you curled up on your bed. Â
It was an abrupt end to the phone call and the friendship that lasted longer than some peopleâs marriages. You remember the haze of the following days as you reminisced about your past memories with your best friend. The stargazing as you humored his conspiracy theories about the beyond while Hajime sat beside you guys rolling his eyes, the late night walks, the way heâd be by your side through all of the rough breakups, and the excitement that practically oozed out of his being from being on the court. After that conversation, you confided in Hajime and allowed him to pick you back up, and gradually, you thought of him less and less. Â
Hajime became yourâŻsoleâŻrock. The one person you turned to in a crisis, and even being thousands of miles away did little to affect what you and Hajime meant to each other. Upon his return to Japan, you became inseparable once more. It helped that you were didnât have any memories with him in Tokyo because it was easier to ignore the missing person. Â
You scanned the pictures littering your room and sighed deeply before throwing yourself on your bed like you were an angsty teenager again. Youâre back in Miyagi because your sister was graduating from Seijoh, so you made plans to meet up with your old friends and even talked Hajime into coming home for the weekend too. You had been looking forward to the trip and catching up with everyone, but there was something about being back in your old haven surrounded by memories of aâŻcertainâŻsetter that pushed you into melancholic nostalgia. With a heavy sigh, you think with watery eyes, âfriendships cause heartbreaks too.âÂ
As you turn to lay on your side, your reverie was disturbed by a knock on your door. Whipping your head around in surprise, your eyes widened and you breathed, âTooru.âÂ
âHi, [Y/N],â Tooru said sheepishly making direct eye contact. Â
Quickly turning your back to him once more, you sighed, âCan I help you, Oikawa-san?âÂ
At your use of his last name, he flinched and rubbed the back of his neck. âI deserve that. . . Uh, your sister let me in as she was leaving. I canât believe how big sheâs gotten. She was soââÂ
âAs much as I love talking about how much my baby sister has grown, I know you didnât come here to talk about her. What are you doing here? Why arenât you in Argentina?â You bit out, fists clenching. Â
âWell, I came back cause Takeru is graduating too. Remember, theyâre the same age.â He explained with a sigh. âThe guys mentioned that everyone was coming back and having a mini reunion, and I knew that you were going to be there. So I came here. . .â Â
You turned to look at him; your eyes critically perused the man before. While you have recognized the changes in his body from the hours spent training on TV, it was a whole other thing to see the difference in person. Gone was the scrawny teenager, a man stood before, molded by those endless hours in the gym. It wasnât just his change in muscular or his obvious exposure to the sun that was different. You noticed the way he held himself was differentâmore confident, more self-assured. Â
You allowed yourself to meet his eyes, and the stone wall that you constructed between you and him began to crumble when you recognized the fondness in his eyes, when you realized he was looking at you like he did before he had left you in Japan all those years agoâwith a kind of softness reserved only for you, his best friend, his sister. You raised an eyebrow as you sat up with an expectant look on your faceârefusing to break the silence. Â
âI want to apologize,â he began. When you started to open your mouth, he rushed, âI know that this is long overdue, and I shouldâve sought you out when I was here for the Olympics especially considering I made up with Iwa-chan.âÂ
As much as you could feel your resolve cracking, you refused to give in completelyâstill feeling incredibly hurt and vulnerable. I mean, he was in Japan for a significant amount of time, and he had found the time to make up with Iwa before leaving and yet couldnât do the same for you. âYouâre right. You should have.â You bit out. Â
He chuckles, recognizing that you were digging your heels in. You were every bit as stubborn and spiteful as he was, maybe even more so, especially when you felt personally wronged. âYou really arenât going to make this easy for me, huh?â He walked further into your room as you adjusted to sit up to lean against your headboard. Eyes closely following his movement to your desk where his mouth quirked softly upon looking at a particular picture of just the two of you. Â
âThanks for taking me here, Tooru,â you said with a sigh leaning back on your forearms. You had been having a particularly difficult week after finding out your crush had been leading you on despite the numerous dates you went on. Ever the observant one, Oikawa noticed that you needed to get out and away, so he opted to take you on a little trip to the water because you love hearing waves crashing onto the shore. The two of you were sitting on a blanket in the sand as the sun set. Â
He looked at you with his typical smug smile and poked your cheek. âAnything for my little chibi-chan.âÂ
Giggling, you pushed his hand away from your face. âShut up. . . But seriously, thank you. I needed this.âÂ
The two of you sat side by side in silence for awhile both lost in your own thoughts before Oikawa disrupted the peace. âYahoo, chibi-chan. Letâs take a picture! Itâs golden hour after all.â The teen took his phone out of his pocket and quickly opened his camera app before leaning close to you and posing with his usual peace sign. You smiled softly before he took the picture.Â
âYou know, thatâs probably one of the few pictures thatâs just the two of us.â You state matter-of-factly. âWhere is Haji-kun anyways?âÂ
The brunette waved his free hand saying, âI think he had do something with his parents.âÂ
Your phone vibrated, and when you looked at the notification, you saw that your best friend had posted the picture you had just taken. The caption reading, âClearly the favorite, Iwa-chan.â The caption definitely resulted in a smack to the back of Oikawaâs head when the Ace had seen itâearning a laugh from you.Â
Oikawa had picked up the frame the picture was in, looking at it fondly. âYou know, there hasnât been a day since I left that I havenât missed you. I might not have gone about it all the right way, but you were right that day when you called. I was so wrapped up in my own world that I didnât realize how I was hurting you, and then you called me out on it, and I donât know. I just snapped. I immediately regret reacting that way. Itâs just that both of you, but you especially seemed to be getting on without us . . . without me, and I just. . . I donât know. I was hurt and thought you were happy without me, so I just saw myself out.â He sighed putting the picture back in its place and turning to face you. Â
His eyes widened at the speed in which you jumped out of your bed and wrapped your arms around his waist, burying your head in his chest. âItâs okay. I forgive you.â You mumbled. âNow, hug me back, Tooru. Iâve missed you.âÂ
âIâve missed you, too, chibi-chan.â He responded with a kiss to the crown of your head before wrapping his arms around you.Â
You pulled back quickly and looked him in the eyes before pinching his side causing the professional athlete to yelp in surprise. âPromise never to do that again. Just pick up the phone every once in a while. Iâd love to hear about your adventures and that wife of yours.â Â
âI promise,â he responded quickly before squeezing you so tightly that you could barely breathe and swinging you around your room like he used to do when you were teenagers. Â
âfuck, climb on my lap, baby.â hajime mumbled breathlessly as you both parted, a string of your shared saliva briefly being the only thing connecting you two.
you obligated, throwing a thigh over his thigh and straddlingïżŒ him, your core hovering over his own as your hands braced themselves on his broad shoulders.
he chuckled at you, looking down disapprovingly.
ânot like that, angel. like this,â his strong hands gripped your waist before pushing your hips down until they met with his own. he grinned at both the gasp of surprise that left your throat and the full feeling of your weight on him. âthere, all better.â
you blushed furiously, body suddenly feeling too hot and anxious too meet his rough eyes.
ânow, come hereâŠâ
one hand traveled up to your neck where he caressed the flesh tenderly with his calloused hands, rough fingers spreading across your face as his lips found your once more.
the kiss was breathtaking, iwaizumiâs lips moved with yours passionately as if he had all the practice in the world and knew every single thing about kissing your lipsâ as if he studied the movements of them with such concentration that he would soon nail it everytime.
his tongue slipped into your mouth, wet, adventurous and warm as if explored you curiously, like it was the first time all over again.
a small muffled moan left you as his large hand squeezed your thigh, in a way of possession and want that nearly made you take him there on your couch.
but you couldnât, your parents would be home soon and would absolutely freak if they caught you two kissingâ let alone having sex in their living room.
your father didnât mind the kissing as much, just reminding you two to take it somewhere else next time, which you normally followed.
but they were out tonight for a friendly get together with coworkers and their significant others, not coming home till later.
you had one hour to go, and might as well made it count before your mother was not-so-politely hinting that it was time for you both to bid your goodbyes and part ways until the next day.
the ten hours apart pained you to think about, even as you had his tongue shoved in your mouth and hands in his hair.
suddenly, just as you mustered up enough courage to slip your tongue into his mouth as well, your charming boyfriend began to suckle on the muscle shamelessly, holding back the smirk that threatened to grow as you whimpered.
his hands moved from their spots, meeting on the small of your back and pushing you close against his torso.
âi want you forever.â he groaned into against your lips as the kiss slowed suddenly, your dog whimpered for attention from the other side of your bedroom door reminding the both of you just where you were.
you smiled, catching your breath as you looked at him, admiring how hot he looked when he was disheveled by you and your lips.
I love the idea of Bakugouâs popularity skyrocketing on social media all because of his relationship with you. He doesnât give a shit of course, but he treats you like a queen and the public absolutely eats it up. They think youâre so cute together!
And once the kiddos come along omg. You post one picture of him holding his baby and smiling at them and everyone freaks the fuck out
I love the idea of Bakugouâs fans shipping you with him and like fully getting behind and supporting your relationship? And like theyâre screenshotting or gifing moments in interviews where heâs asked questions about you and they can just see his face light up?
I imagine when you have your first child together Bakugouâs post announcing it is just a picture with the babyâs tiny hand wrapped around one of his thick fingers.
But your socials are going crazy because you post a few candid photos of him on your story. Sitting in one of those hospital armchairs while he cradles the little bundle, the softest look on his face as you caption it âmy worldâ.
I just obsess over the idea of him breaking the internet with youđ
"I think I knew it was over when I stopped crying."
Your heart aches as you listen to your friend's story, the events leading up to their recent breakup.
"I used to get so upset when he wouldn't come to bed with me, crying because I felt so lonely and wondering if there was something wrong with me...and then eventually...the tears stopped coming and I knew."
You nod solemnly. "It was over. I'm so sorry." You offer a hug, not sure what else to say or do.
The conversation doesn't last much longer. You part ways with a promise to check in again with each other soon and make sure your friend knows to call you for anything.
On the walk home you think about everything you heard.
The quick fuse.
Inability to apologize.
Indifference to each other's presence.
It really is heartbreaking and your friend's heavy emotions cling to you as you climb the stairs to your apartment.
"I'm home," you call out as you leave your shoes and your boyfriend's steady voice answers from the kitchen.
"Welcome back." Sakusa doesn't turn around when you shuffle in; his attention's on the bento he's packing for lunch tomorrow.
He's hunched over the counter as his fingers place each piece of food with a care and delicacy that contradict the ferocity of his presence on the court.
"How was your visit?" He asks. You don't need to see his face to know his brow will be pinched in that adorably serious way.
You don't answer.
Instead, heart sopping with a myriad of your own emotions, you hug him from behind. He straightens up and tries to look over his shoulder as you press your face into his back.
"I love you, Omi. So much."
You can feel his hesitation and concern, his task momentarily forgotten.
"I appreciate everything you do, everything you've done for us...for me..." You cling to him like he's a life raft. "Acknowledging your faults and wanting to grow as a person...helping me do the same. And not because you don't think I'm good enough but to support me and help me be the best I can be...to help us be the strongest we can be..."
You shakily inhale and squeeze him. "I'm so grateful to have you in my life...and I love you...so much."
You don't need to see his face to know how close he is to tears, hearing everything in his voice when he replies with equal fervency.
like bakugou will stay home with her when she catches the cold running around the pre-school ( âprobably started with the kaminari kidâŠsnotty bastardâŠâ) and since youâre away on a mission he gladly takes up the opportunity to spend time with and spoil his baby girl.
so theyâre snuggling on the couch and sheâs watching the cartoons katsuki secretly hates but she loves, and probably has you on FaceTime while you busy yourself in the hotel the agency has you set up in. âyâstill feelinâ icky baby?â you ask her but youâre out of frame, sorting out your hero costume for tomorrow.
âmmm,â she whines but doesnât look away from the screen even when you pop up on katsukiâs.
he leans down, pinching her chubby cheek all while squeezing her to his warm chest to help her sweat out the fever. âsheâs been coughinâ up a storm, might lose her lung, ainât that right pretty girl?â another squeeze and a gruff laugh from your husband has your smiling, pausing your actions just to watch your two blondies. âshe says yes.â bakugou flips the camera to show your daughter tucked into the abyss of his chest, thumb in her drooling mouth, all dressed in her dynamight onesie and her ruby eyes zoned in on the behated coco melon.
âwell tell her, momma says to take her meds and be good for daddy.â
âaye aye, momma bear.â bakugou nods, flipping the camera back to himâ making your heart flutter even after all this time. âif her temp raises, âm gonna take her tâsee that doctor half ân half recommended andâ oh my god.â
the phone drops and you perk up in your spot half way across japan, stomach flashing with worry at the idea something drastic has happened to your baby girl. âkatsuki! what happened?â
âshe sneezed, her noseâŠlooks like mine. sâso fuckinâ cute.â he mumbles, showing your daughter again. she sits up on her own, lips drawn into a pout with a trail of snot running from her cute little noseâ crinkled just a bit like katsukiâs whenever he snarls or grunts. your baby looks far from happy, but itâs too cute a sight for you to even be mad at your husband for cursing. âlook at âer, precious freakinâ girl,â bakugou coos, wiping her nose with a finger bent at the joint and brushing back tufts of her blonde hair that would have been all his if it werenât for your texture being there before showing himself again.
and even he has a pout on his face too, and thereâs no doubt in your mind that your little girl is definitely katsuki bakugouâs daughter.
Your shock is evident in your wide-eyed stare, her lips licked in a tight frown as she scans your appearanceâthe mess you both returned in is a horrendous sight to the woman and the last thing she had ever expected from you. She doesnât care for the reason youâre messy, or that youâre finally standing beside Sakusa by choice. She simply sees the dirt at the hem of your dress and creases in your clothes; the way the river water had forced your neatly shaped hairstyle into a bird's nest. And she cares that Sakusa, the future king of the kingdom that she has devoted herself to, is in the same state beside you.
She opens her mouth and you know thereâs an onslaught of disappointment is boiling at the back of her throat, threatening to spill and spoil the happiness filling the palace more by the second, but she stops herself: itâs not acceptable for her to have an outburst in front of so many people that she perceived to be lower than her.
Thereâs an uncomfortable silence amongst everyone as they wait for the woman to say something; not even Sakusa dares to say a word and his confidence from earlier disappears under the womanâs glare thatâs filled with distaste.
âI expected you home,â Itâs been so long, months, since youâve heard her voice; you're not ready to have her chastise you again. Not after the first truly happy day youâd had in those months. âAnd instead youâreââ If you hadnât known her as well as you did you might have been clueless do what her facial expression meant as she stopped herself from saying anything more.
It wasnât for your benefit; she was just too disgusted to say the words out loudâand instead, youâre acting like a commoner. Or maybe it was that she wanted to keep appearances in front of the staff and the rough mercenaries looking on with confusion, and obvious detest in Atsumuâs case.
It wasnât for your benefit; she was just too disgusted to say the words out loudâand instead, youâre acting like a commoner. Or maybe it was that she wanted to keep appearances in front of the staff and the rough mercenaries looking on with confusion, and obvious detest in Atsumuâs case.
âMother.â You speak up, voice breaking under your nerves. Sheâs staring at you with a gaze that youâre no longer used to seeing; in fact, it worsens your nerves and Sakusaâs attempt to calm you with a gentle touch to your hand isnât as useful as he had hoped it would be. You swat his hand away subtly, creating a distance between the two of you as you make your way toward your mother.
âHitoka,â you call to the blonde, whoâs seemingly terrified of your mother, âWould you care to show my mother to the drawing room?â She nods slowly, stepping out from her hiding place behind Kiyoko. âIâll join you shortly, Mother.â
With a frown on her face, she follows the young girl into the palace and youâre left to release a shaky breath; thereâs no relief in it and there may not be until the woman leaves again. For now, all you have is the desperate look you give to Kiyoko who rushes to your side, takes your hand and leads you to your room, with Atsumu following behind you with a similar level of concern etched on to his face.
Sakusa watches on, wishing he could be beside you to ease your discomfort. After, finally, feeling like the distance between you had decreased, he wants to share comforting words and tell you nothing could go wrong when he is at your side. Instead, he has to accept the fact you find comfort in your ladies and the man he assigned to you; he has to push away the feeling in his stomach as the door shuts behind Atsumu.
Komori stands beside him, staring at the door the same as everyone left outside is doing, and the next step is unknown. Does Sakusa clean himself up and join his wife? Does he leave you to deal with your mother alone? He doesnât want to but heâs unaware of what privileges he may have gained with the trust that was beginning to build again.
All the progress that had been made in just a few hours of being together feels incomparable to the way you trust those around you; he wants to be one of your people. He doesnât want to leave your safety to Atsumu; the very idea of having him being a man you trust when heâs trying his best burdens his heart.
He ignores the ache, he knows itâs nothing compared to what he had done to you, and turns to Komori. âFind me when her mother leaves.â he orders, adjusting the sleeves of his dirtied shirt, âAnd ensure their meeting does not turn sour, my wifeâs comfort is your priority.â Komori nods, happy to push aside the list of responsibilities that had grown after the cancellation of Sakusaâs meetings: he was equally as worried for you.
Sakusa makes his way inside, Komori close behind making his way to the drawing room to relieve the stress that the young girl was certainly feeling under the watchful eye of your mother. He arrives before you, greeting your mother and requesting Yachi prepare tea for the lady, giving her a welcome escape.
Shortly after, Kiyoko opens the door for you and, in much cleaner and professional attire, you greet your mother with a curtsey. Though, the scowl on her face in unchanging now sheâs not in the presence of the prince. Atsumu stands beside the door and, even with your silent order for him to leave, he refuses to move from his position. Thereâs no danger in the room, but he believes you would be more at ease with as many of your people in the room as possible.
It works, with the four of them there youâre more confident in front of your mother. The same could not be said for Yachi as she pours tea with trembling hands.
Thereâs silence in the room as you wait for you mother to talk, her expression is full of disappointment as she glances over you: no matter how you altered you appearance she was never going to overlook the fact you had presented yourself in a manner she had never encouraged.
âMother-â Your attempt to apologise is overlooked the second you open your mouth, sheâs quick to interrupt you and force you back into silence. You would never dare speak over your mother.
âYou leave your position unattended,â she begins, âNo one was aware of your whereabouts and you lack the decency to appear again looking like a disgrace. You show your servants, your subordinates,â the way she spits the word leaves a fould taste in the back of you throat, âsuch an image.â
The foul taste turns sour and you feel your face warm as the anger burns within you; itâs not the first time she had made you feel this way but it is the first since youâd gained independence from her. Your the princess; the future queen. She may be your mother but she has no right to act this way to you anymore.
âMother.â You begin again, all thoughts of apologising have left your mind and the sudden confidence within you is shocking to everyone in the room. âYou talk as though I lack deceny and yet you offend the very peopleâmy peopleâstood in this room.â You frown in her direction but your expression is nothing compared to hers.
âYou-â she takes a breath to calm her emotions; sheâs biting her tongue to keep herself from worsening the mood in the room. âYou must think about your reputation. This way you are acting, itâs improper.â You sigh at the sound of her words, improper. Her favourite thing to say to you when you disappointed her, growing up every little thing you did was improper and yet, she still had exceedingly high expectations for you.
And the insult still hurt the same way it did when you were a child.
âItâs improper for a lady.â Your mother continued, not caring for the way your face fell at her berating. âFor a princess. You are not only tainting our family name but the royal family as well. You mustnât make anything more difficult for myself and your father.â
You try to get a word in between her ridicules but sheâs relentless. Thereâs no chance for you to speak your mind; youâre bullied into silence by the woman. Komori watches on, unsure of how he can stop this with Sakusaâs voice nagging in the back of his mind insisting he finds a way now. Atsumu wants to step forward; force the woman away from you so you have a chance to breathe and your ladies watch with frowns on their faces: thereâs nothing any of them can do to go regardless of how much they may want to.
âI raised you better than this. I raised you for this role and you embarrass me.â Finally falling silent, she waits for you to speak up again; apologise. But thereâs nothing you can say while she stares, her eyes boring into you and making you feel small. Thereâs nothing you can say in retaliation.
She stands when she realises youâll choose silence over confrontation, as usual, and announces quietly that sheâll take her leave. âNext time I visit, I expect you to be taking your position seriously, it is not only you a bad reputation will impact.â As she leaves the room, Kiyoko follows behind to escort her out; sheâd much rather be there as a shoulder for you to cry on but she knows, if she doesnât, Yachi will be the one to perform the role. Hitoka had been beside your mother for long enough, any longer and the poor girl may have had a heart attack.
Komori whispers to Atsumu, leaving the room to collect Sakusa, and youâre left with Yachi and Atsumu, neither of which is certain of what to do as you hold your head in your hands trying to keep your emotions at bay.
Thereâs little that would comfort you now, maybe Kiyoko would be able to encourage a few words from you but those less familiar with your mother were clueless about how to support you. Yachi wants to reach out; offer some comforting words but sheâs left in stunned silence, still scared of the atmosphere your mother had created.
You hear the door open, followed by whispers, and you think Kiyoko is back in the room. You want to feel relief; you want her to ground you and bring you back to the reality that you live in. The one where your mother is no longer dictating your lifestyle and where your friendship with Sakusa is finally recovering. The reality where your closest friends arenât the superficial children of anyone that craves power; where theyâre the people around you that donât care for the woman youâre supposed to be because they care for the woman you are.
âMiya,â the voice makes you lift your head quickly, Sakusa is the last person you had expected to see and, with Atsumu standing his ground beside the door, itâs clear the whispering was the demand for the room to be cleared. âout.â
You watch as Atsumu reluctantly leaves the room and youâre alone with Sakusa. He makes his way to where youâre sitting, taking the position beside you and another silence falls on the room though, this time, the atmosphere is calm, patient.
You lean your head on his shoulder and he stiffens for a second: itâs the last thing he expected after the refusal to let him take your hand. Itâs welcomed nonetheless and he, carefully, wraps an arm around your shoulders, rubbing comforting circles on the skin of your arm. He still says nothing, waiting for you to share with him.
Itâs all he can do whilst heâs clueless of the scene that unfolded in his absence. All he was sure of, was that his mother-in-law had destroyed the little happiness youâd experienced that day and he wanted to be the reason it came back.
âMy mother,â you begin after what had felt like hours of silent solace from your husband, words quiet and soft, âI knew she was here to tell meââ You canât find the words that explain the thoughts occupying your mind. âI knew what she was here for yet I still had hopes she was here to simply see me.â You sniffle quietly, trying to stop yourself from showing a side of you to Sakusa that was unlike the confident lady your mother expected you to be. âI wish she could see me for more than step into higher society.â You whisper, the comforting arm around your shoulder bringing more ease to you than either of you had expected.
âShe does; she cares for you in her way. Itâs certainly not a way you or I perceive to be love.â He tries to reason, âWe were raised by people that think as she does, but we learnt that that wasnât the way we were supposed to live.â Looking at you, he doesnât miss the way you eyes begin to water again. âIt is your choice. You are the only person that can decide how to live your life.â
âAnd if I become a disappointment to my family?â
warnings: angst, mentions of sex (nothing explicit), overbearing/toxic mother again, talk of not eating (this is not a common theme throughout this; this will be the only time it is mentioned), mean sakusa :/ (please let me know if i've missed any)
notes: reading through the tags some of you left on the first chapter made me so so happy. i am already having so much fun with this story and i'm so glad people are enjoying it!! thank you <3 (check status of taglist in the masterpost)

Had the reason for the celebration not been focused on you, you may have enjoyed the elegant music playing throughout the vast ballroom. The sound of string instruments danced to your ears, blending beautifully with the piano taking control of the movements of everyone brave enough to take a partner to the centre of the room.Â
Even though it was a magnificent event, dedicated to you and your husband, you could only stare at it with hopes that time will be in your favour; that the end of the night will come quickly before you can finally remove the tight corset wrapped around you and climb into bed. But, youâre also hoping the night never ends. Thereâs part of you that wants to enjoy the reception and thereâs more of you that wants to avoid the first night youâre expected to share with your husband.Â
You know neither of you are anticipating the evening; youâre sure nothing will come of it anyway. But you know what everyone will believe when you wake in the morning, having lied beside him; that was something you needed them to believe.Â
Hidden within the music, you can hear the clinking of flatware on plates as people stand by the displays of food, happily talking and laughing whilst you, under orders of your mother, stay at the side of the room theoretically waiting for the moment Sakusa asks you to dance; if he did so. Thatâs not what youâre truly awaiting; with your mother insisting you must keep a certain appearance for your special day, she demands you stay away from the food that could ruin your dress and the red wine being served is a definite no as the waiters walk pastâitâs been a long day and youâre desperate for anything.Â
You want everything to end.
Though, the universe is not on your side as you watch your mother approach you with a smile painted on her face that you didnât want to see; sheâs quickly taking you by the arm and pulling you out of earshot of any curious nobles. and you want to walk away the second she opens her mouth.Â
âAre you prepared for this evening?â She questions, taking your hand and shining her bright smile your way and you try not to frown.Â
You know sheâs not clueless on how you feel, on what this entire day meant for you. She knew how much you had awful you felt about your wedding and how little you cared for your husband; she knew all of your concerns surrounding how little Sakusa seemed to care for you and she had witnessed the heartbreak you initially felt when you realised you were far from his thoughts, in contrast to your own mind when he first left for war.
ây/n? Are you listening to me?â Her tone changes as she realises youâre drifting from the conversation sheâs leading, and you quickly come back to reality to pay attention to herâyou donât want to risk her anger on this day.Â
You nod your head, urging her to continue except, this time, you are listening. âYou must remember, youâre not only a representative of our family, but the royal family as well. You must never embarrass Sakusa.â If her behaviour hadnât already made you feel small throughout the day, this most certainly did.Â
âMotherââ
âYouâre a princess now, and a princess has a role to fill. You mustnât disappoint him tonight, the sooner an heir is conceived the better. Do you understand, y/n?â
âMother!â You almost raise your voice, stopping at the last second as you stare at her with wide eyes. Youâre amazed at her confidence in saying such a thing in the middle of the ballroom; youâre certain thereâs no one within earshot but you fear someone will hear your improper conversationâruining the reputation your mother places on such a high pedestal.
âThere are certain duties a woman has to complete,â she continues, ignoring your worried expression and attempts to stop her, âand youâre not truly a wife until the marriage has been consummatââ
âI understand, Mother.â You interrupt her and she finally stops, although she looks less than pleased at the manner in which youâve ended the conversation. With a smile, you bid her goodbye and make your way towards the esteemed guests of your wedding, few of which you even, personally, know.
You keep your head high as you search for familiarity; you donât want to seem lonely at your own wedding and you can hear your motherâs voice in the back of your mind reminding you of the appearance youâve been trained to exhibit.Â
Youâd spent your lifetime learning how to act at this moment, it may not be how you expected it but youâre more than ready to be part of the royal family; to be beside Sakusa. And you knew exactly how to prove it.Â
Though, that all seems irrelevant when youâre standing among other young ladies of the kingdom, some your age, some a few years older or younger all asking you a series of intrusive questions all about Sakusa. And you finally realise how ill-informed the public is of your relationship, or lack of, as they wait for you to tell them how secretly sweet your husband is; wanting to know what romantic letters he sent in the years he was away.Â
It hurts.Â
So you laugh in response, simply saying youâd prefer to keep those aspects secretâthey smile and relish in what they see at the vision youâve given them of the stoic-faced prince, giggling between themselves. They press for more information, on Sakusa, on the mercenaries and on Komori and you hate that you have to find an excuse for each one until you finally find a chance to step away. Not just from them, but from the entire evening.Â
You find yourself on one of the many balconies of the palace, breathing in the fresh air and taking in the view of the garden as the sun was beginning to set: this was your home now and you were determined to, at least, find comfort somewhereâthe garden looked like the perfect place for that.
Itâs chilly compared to the warmth of the ballroom, but you donât mind the icy wind that hits your exposed skin; you finally feel like you can have just a few minutes to be yourself. Itâs the happiest youâve been all day. You pluck a flower from the vines wrapping around the stone pillars of the balcony, bringing it to your nose and relishing in the sweet scentâeverything almost seems like it might just be worth it.Â
You can hear the quiet lul of the music as everything continues in your absence and youâre positive that no oneâs even noticed; the idea of being completely hidden away from everyone and not have eyes burning her from every direction.Â
Being away from Sakusaâs disappointed expression as his eyes met your is a blessing, you can frown or cry; you could even scream if you wanted to, no one would hear it. And you could get rid of all the horrid feelings that had been building up from the moment you woke up until now.
In fact, you might have done exactly that had you not heard footsteps slowly approaching. Dropping the flower and watching it fall from the balcony to the floor below you, you smooth out your dress and turn to the entrance of the balcony, smiling as you see Kiyoko notice you and rush your way.Â
âIâve been looking for you y/n.â She sighed, smiling equally as bright as she stood beside you, happily handing you the small plate of palace delicacies that were being served in the ballroom. Your eyes widen and you take it from her gleefully. Of course, of all people to notice, Kiyoko was the only one that would do something that could anger your motherâyou had always been a higher priority to her.Â
Kiyoko had been assigned to you when you turned 16, the year in which Sakusa left, and, as an 18-year-old lady-in-waiting to the future queen, she immediately began to act like an older sister. She had helped you through tough days and had listened to every complaint you had about any minor detail. She never once cared what upset you, she only cared about you.Â
She sighs beside you, in a similar manner to how you had when you first escaped from the bustling ballroom. And, suddenly, youâre not the princess anymore; youâre just a woman with her friend. Youâre not a person dreading your married life, youâre you and sheâs the only one that can bring down the facade everyone is familiar with.
âYour motherââ
âPlease.â You interrupt, sending her a quick glance, you know she wants to ask what you were pulled aside for: a conversation you wanted to forget. âNot now; not here.â Kiyoko nods in return, a comfortable silence enveloping the two of you as you finish the food she managed to sneak away for you.Â
And thatâs how you stay as you both stare over the garden: thereâs nothing to say. She had already heard your fear for your wedding day; she had witnessed youâre waterfall of tears the night before as you voiced every concern and fear, letting out all the emotions you had been ignoring for years. She had seen you at your worst the night before, what was supposed to be, the happiest night of your life. There was nothing she could ask that would make you feel better.Â
âExcuse me, Your Highness.â You turn to the entrance of the balcony, straightening your posture; relaxing only when you realise itâs Komori who has called out to you. âSorry, I didnât realise you had company, My Lady.â He bows his head to both you and Kiyoko. You greet him with the best smile you can muster: though your not entirely happy to see him eitherâSakusaâs silence broke your heart but Komoriâs helped stamp on the pieces helping you learn losing a friend was just as painful.
He reaches a hand out towards you, offering you a glass of champagne heâs graciously brought with him, unaware of Kiyokoâs presence, he was ill-prepared for company yet, he hands her the second glass initially intended for himself.Â
âYou look beautiful, Your Highness.â Heâs the only person, besides Kiyoko, to say those words to you; to remember that this was your day and make it seem as such even if he knows, more than most, the reality of your relationship.Â
Though, the slight extra happiness you feel in that moment disappears as Komori continues to talk. âI wish I could come with better news, but I believe your mother has noticed your escape.âÂ
Your head drops as you sigh, a sound that has come from you today more than any day of your life. Turning to Kiyoko, you send her a disappointed smile.
âI would gladly escort you both back, My Ladies, if you allow it.â He steps forward, offering his arm to you. However, you donât move.
The thought of your mother seeing you walk arm in arm with your husbandâs cousin is daunting: you know sheâll have strong words to say against it. Kiyoko knows this too; she steps forward and takes his arm.
Your glassware is left on the balcony, someone will be informed itâs there, and you walk ahead of the others as you make your way to the ballroom once again, the sound of the music and laughter growing as well as the pitiful feeling in your stomach.Â
Once you arrive, Kiyoko steps aside as sheâs beckoned away and youâre left with Komori. With a smile on his face, he holds a hand out to you again.
âYou should enjoy your day, the same as everyone else. Iâd be honoured if you were to allow me a dance.â
âI would beââ
âKomori, I donât believe Iâve had the pleasure of a dance with my wife yet.â You spin on your heels, turning to face Sakusa. He glanced between you and Komori before he holds his hand out to you. âIf sheâll allow it.â
Forcing a smile at the man youâve married, you take his hand and allow him to lead you to the middle of the ballroom floor. Everyone stops what theyâre doing; those dancing step to the side and the music restarts, playing the song youâve heard hundreds of times in your life.
It begins; Sakusa crosses an arm across his torso as he bows at you. He lifts his head first, eyes meeting yours as he straightens his back. You falter for a millisecond under his gaze before you take hold of the your dress, curtsying elegantly in return before the dance truly begins.
Your hands interlace and he pulls you close, his free hand slides to your back, while you delicately place yours on his shoulder. He pulls you as close as he can resting his head against yours as he takes lead of your movement.
âMust you look so uncomfortable?â He whispers into you ear, loosening his grip on you to allow some distance between you again.
âThere is only so much I can hide, Sakusa.â
âToday, of all days, you must, My Dear.â He fights the want to frown himself as you meet his eyes again.Â
âThis may mean nothing to you; you may be content with a marriage of convenience. But I once wished Iâd be married to a man that cared enough to tell me he was alive.â
His face does fall at the words, his frown lasting only a second before he can think of a rebuttal. âI was at war; leading an army. I spent my days fighting and my nights fearing my men would be ambushed; writing to you was not my priority.â
âThatâs not what Iââ You drop your head in defeat, your point being lost on him immediately and another sigh escapes you.Â
Your hand comes away from his shoulder as he stylishly spins you, catching you by the waist with ease. âFour years of silence. I didnât know if you would even return until your father set a date for the wedding.âÂ
Your voice is quiet, youâre distracted by the way his hand is placed on your lower back, your clothing hides the feeling of his hands on you, but you feel the pressure as he pulls you close again.Â
âMy father needed to know the war was won; I was not aware the wedding would be the day after my return until I received a letter no more than a week ago.âÂ
He leads you further through the dance, dipping your with grace, bringing a memory to the front of your mind.
You remember when you were young and learning this dance in anticipation for this moment; you remember the first time you practiced this very movement; the day he dropped you onto the floor, much to the shock of the instructor but to the entertainment of the two of you. Komori had heard the story later that day: teasing Sakusa alongside you until the novelty wore off.
Sakusa lifts you, bringing you back to an upright position, although, neither of you are prepared for the lack of distance between you. Itâs more shocking for you at the sight of his much softer expression mere inches from you: heâs looking at you like a man truly happy to be wed.Â
The music stops, and your curtesy once more; you interaction ends as Sakusa takes your hand, kissing it softly. When he raises his head, his soft demeanour is once again replaced by the unimpressed man youâve quickly come accustomed to.
He keeps hold of your hand as he guides you to the sidelines again and you try to ignore the beaming smiles of the woman wanting so desperately to be in your position.
Everyoneâs in awe of your performance, unaware of the conversation unfolding between you: one thatâs worsened your already sour mood. And everything continues as it was with more people swarming to the floor as music begins again, and conversations are in uproar as everyone falls deeper into drunkenness as time progresses.
And youâre not comfortable until youâre sat in front of a vanity mirror again, in an unfamiliar room that youâll be leaving once you are prepared. Youâre thankful Kiyoko was the only one beside you, brushing through your hair and untying the corset thatâs crushed you throughout the day.
ây/n,â Kiyoko whispered, âYou mustnât do anything you do not want to. No matter what your mother wants.â You meet her eyes in the mirror again, offering her a sincere smile.
âI know. I simply need her to believe. Neither of us want this, or an heir right now.â She nods, obviously unconvinced but she doesnât argue; she doesnât want to make you feel any worse than you had been.
âI worryââ
âI know.â You take hold of her hand thatâs rested on your shoulder. âI appreciate it all; all youâve done for me today.â
Youâre soon wrapped in a shawl, hiding your nightdress as youâre led by a maid to your new bedchambers within the palace.Â
The door is opened for you and is closed the second you step inside; youâre met with the back of Sakusaâs head as he focuses on the paper he has displayed on his desk, the light of his candle beside him.
You clear your throat, gaining his attention. He turns to you and, he too, has ridden himself of his wedding attire and. instead, donned a much thinner sleeping set. And your briefly distracted by the low cut of his shirt, revealing his toned chest to you.
âI hope youâre not expecting anything, y/n.â He sighs, briefly glancing over you appearance. You frown, wanting to argue the same to him.
âI expect nothing. My mother, however, is under the impression we are eager.â You drop the shawl at a chair in the centre of the room, ignoring the way he did briefly stare once more stopping as he realised and turning back to his papers.
âYour mother isââ
âBe careful of your words, Your Highness,â you warn as you climb into bed, âshe is your mother too.â
Sakusa stops, glancing to you just once more before he lets out a sigh of his own. âYour lady-in-waiting will arrive tomorrow.â He informs you after a few moments of silence.Â
âI have Kiyoko.â You respond instantaneously, somewhat fearing heâll replace the closest friend you have with a stranger.Â
âThe future queen requires more than a single lady-in-waiting; sheâll be here tomorrow.â You turn in bed, leaving your back to him and refuse to respond: nothing you say would change his mind.
You close your eyes and bask in the silence of the room, after the day of roaring excitement from almost everyone but yourself, youâre glad to finally have a moment with your own thoughts. Youâre uncertain of how much time has passed; but soon enough you feel the bed dip beside you and the warmth of a body beside you. Itâs that very warmth that lulls you to sleep.
You wake the next morning to exactly what you expect: the spot in the bed beside you empty and cold.

Since you had woken up that morning, you hadnât had a single chance to breathe.Â
Your mother, a highly respected yet childish woman, had woken you up far earlier than you had expected with a smile on her face youâd never seen before, dragging you out of bed and starting your long day of preparation. One you had dreaded for months.Â
Pulling you to your feet and immediately pushing you towards a bathtub, giving you the only fifteen minutes without her until you were walking down the aisle. And the only fifteen minutes to have any relaxation until that moment, with your maid gently washing your hair as you stare forward, dreaming of the time when this was the last of you worries; and you wish those fifteen minutes would never end especially when youâre wrapped in a robe with your mother listing demands of how she wants your day to go.Â
Sheâs insisting on your hair; your makeup and she was even the one to pick out your dress.Â
But you didnât mind too much. Youâd long since given up on hoping for your own perfect day; it wasnât like he showed any form of excitement. Well, he may have, but the lack of contact for nearly four years was enough to convince you this was all a mistake.
Youâre even more ready for everything to end with every tug on your hair and every slap to the back of your hand as you complained, accompanied with your mother insisting you sit still; that youâd ruin it all if you werenât careful.Â
Youâre even more ready for everything to end with every tug on your hair and every slap to the back of your hand as you complained, accompanied with your mother insisting you sit still; that youâd ruin it all if you werenât careful.Â
So, youâre left with no choice. You sit, having your head pulled from side to side under your mothers orders; you share a look with your lady-in-waiting, Kiyoko, through the mirror. As the only person that youâve ever been honest with, and she immediately knows how much distaste you have for each aspect being forced upon you.
You lose track of the time youâre spending being dressed like a doll, having your breath stolen as the corset is tightened around you with the order of âa little moreâ from your mother and your ignored protests. Your arms are pulled left and right as your pushed into the gown, leaving only makeup to be done.
You hope it wonât take as long as your mother makes it seem; with powder being slapped on your face and more instructions being tossed at the maids. Thereâs nothing you can do but sit and take everything thrown your way; youâre being led to the royal carriage before you realise it.
Youâre not sure how many hours have passed since the moment you woke up but, now, the sun is beating down on you through the window of the carriage. It hurts your eyes, just a little bit, but you think thatâs better than your attention being on your mothe. Sheâs sat opposite you listing off her requirements and rules for the dayâall boiling down to âdonât mess this upâ.
Her words fall on deaf ears, sheâs reiterated her expectations every day for months. You know how this is going to go; and it all starts as the carriage doors open and a hand is held out to you.
Stepping out of your carriage, your mother close behind you, and youâre led to the towering doors of the church. You see Kiyoko rush to your motherâs side, sending you an apologetic glance as theyâre let to a different entrance.
Youâre completely alone. Itâs like time has stopped until the music begins to play and the grand doors slowly creak open. You want the floor to swallow you whole as the grand doors creak open. The sound of the march that would have once had your heart fluttering, has your blood run cold instead.Â
Everyone stands and turns to you: itâs time.
You wish there was someone beside you. Your mother, your father, Kiyoko or just a maid. But youâre expected to take each step solo.
As the music continues you take each painstaking step. Chattering and whispers dying down to silence as the sound of the organ grows; there isnât a single pair of eyes not on you.
Glancing around the room, or at least to those sat in proximity to the aisle in the vast chapel, youâre realising there are minimal people here to support you.
Thereâs viscounts and barons hoping to gain power through relationships with the higher ranking earls and dukes. Thereâs women hoping to meet a higher ranking man to lift them up the societal hierarchy and you start to think Kiyoko is the only person really there for you.
Among the sea of vaguely recognisable faces stand four you know, and only one youâre happy to see.
Komori. Sakusaâs cousin and right hand, there wasnât a thing on Earth Sakusa knew the Komori didnât; as your eyes met his he greets you with a familiar, comforting smileâone you hadnât seen in far too long.
And you hate it.
It reminds you of the happiest years of your life, when you could consider Sakusa a friend instead of the stranger heâd become; when you could laugh or cry around him and not fear his reaction. Of when you would accompany both Sakusa and Komori on walks around the palace garden, almost always ending in a scolding from your mother at the filth that littered the dress she had carefully picked out that morning; that never bothered you. Because the time you spent without supervision was always the time you looked forward to most.
It reminds you of the time you thought married life could be somewhat enjoyable.Â
Beside him are the infamous mercenaries hired to fight alongside the soldiers; now knights of the palace with the sole duty of protecting the prince.Â
Thereâs Bokuto and Hinata, the two deceitfully cheerful men with the power to kill in seconds if given the chance. Together, they were an unstoppable team but they were not as treacherous as the faux blonde sat beside them with judgmental eyes targeting you.
Miya Atsumu. Bloodthirsty and menacing, his stare had you wanting to turn and leave more than you already were. His brown eyes felt like they were searching your very soul and all you could do was look away, finally looking at your betrothed.Â
For the first time in over four years.
You hate to admit it, you really do, but, no matter how much you despise him, you cannot deny the fact heâs become an inexplicably handsome man.Â
Maybe it was the years on the battlefield that had forced him to grow from the 17-year-old you remember into the toned, beautiful heir to the throne waiting for you at the alter; his new physique perfectly suiting the white suit he had donned; golden accessories making him more breathtaking. And, across his shoulders sat the white mantle handed down the generations of his family: a symbol of alleged love and affection between the king and his queen.Â
It makes you want to laugh.
The worst thing about it all, the one thing youâd expected but hoped he would control, is the expression on his face. If a single person was looking at him they would realise what a mockery this wedding wasâno one should have an expression of such abhorrence at the site of their wife. Yet, there he was looking at you like you were dirt on his boots, like you were the enemy heâd been fighting for so long.
You slow for a second, taking a hesitant step forward as you force your eyes away from his. You know this isnât what either of you want, youâre aware there may even be a woman Sakusa yearns for but can never have. But you wish you could live your life differently, turn and run; find a man to love wholeheartedly.
Though, youâd be trialed for treason.
Reaching the alter, everything feels real. Sakusa takes his steps towards you; taking your hand and guiding you up the steps to the high priest, whoâs waiting for the music to cease and the ceremony to officially begin.Â
With your back to the crowd, you ignore the words spoken by the priest; they mean nothing to you as he speaks of blessings showered down on the unionâon how this is the wedding everyone has been anticipating.
Everyone but the two of you.
So, you stand. Hand rested on Sakusaâs as you wait for your cue to turn to him; to listen to him speak his vows, oneâs youâll have to echo afterwards.
When the time comes, you let him take your hands; you let him talk and you let him slide the ring on your finger. Youâre locked into your life the second he finishes; he looks as unhappy as you feel in that moment.
Then itâs your turn; everyoneâs watching you. Theyâre waiting to celebrate not only the marriage of the prince but the consolidation of power that will become their king and queen. But, not a single one knows youâre anxious about the words you're expected to say.
You begin to repeat the words spoken moments before hand, Sakusaâs hand in yours as you wait for the moment to slide the ring on his finger; cold metal matching the rough man whoâs not so much as smiled at you from the moment the doors opened.
âI y/n l/n take you, Sakusa Kiyoomi,â your eyes meet his for a second; it almost makes you falter but you think that, maybe just for a split second, you see the man he used to be, the man you would have been happy to stand beside.
But itâs a passing moment, and the light fades as you open your mouth to continue, âto be my husband, to have and to hold from this day forward,â thereâs a bitter taste in your mouth as you speak. It feels as though youâre signing away your life to a man that does not care if you live it.
âfor better, for worse, for richer, for poorer,â your eyes drift to your parents, sitting beside Kiyoko, and your motherâs beaming smile urges you on: sheâs put too much effort in for you to ruin it. Of everyone with expectations, sheâs the only one you refuse to disappoint.
âin sickness and in health, to love and to cherish,â and you wonder what type of man Sakusa would be in those situations. Would he warm to you again, be like he was when you were younger? Would he be there for you in those times you needed him? Or would you feel alone in the palace for the rest of your life?
âtill death do us part,â thereâs no doubt in your mind about Sakusaâs loyaltyâwhether heâs loyal in his heart or not, he has no choice. Youâve known for your entire life that he was your end; whether you have a willing choice or not.Â
âaccording to Godâs holy law.â it almost feels blasphemous speaking those words in a place of worship; words that are intended to be shared between lovers and not between two people forced into matrimony.
Your left hand comes to his, the ring slowly gliding down his finger as the words that finalise your sentence are uttered.
When Wakatoshi reads the text heâs half exhausted from a grueling day of training, chest heaving and sweat lining his top lip and hairline, so he doesnât quite understand why youâre telling him this. Heâs straddling a bench on the sidelines with Aran Ojiro in front of him.
Maybe he stares at the text for too long because Aranâs head suddenly appears in his line of visions.
âAre you good?â
Wakatoshi blinks. âShe missed her period.â
Aranâs inhale is so sharp that he starts coughing. This draws the attention of his other teammates, and Wakatoshi drops his phone on the bench to thump his friend on the back once, twice.
"Jesus Christ, Ushijima," Aran clears his throat.
"What did he do?" Iwaizumi squints at Wakatoshi.
Aran shakes his head. "What do you mean she missed her period? Like she might be pregnant?" He asks, ignoring Iwaizumi's presence and the others closing in.
Wakatoshi freezes, at the same time Hinata and Atsumu collide with each other. "Oh," he breathes dumbly.
"Oh? Oh!?" Atsumu squawks.
"Wakatoshi-kun you might become a dad!"
Oh.
Aran gestures wildly to the phone on the bench between them. "Well? Text back! Ask if they'll take a test Wakatoshi!"
A mix of dismayed groans fill the air as Ushijima fumbles with his phone. His hands are shaking he notes. And he realizes that he might be panicking just a little. A ding goes off before he can get the phone to unlock and your name lights up the screen.
His face unlocks the phone and he catches a glimpse of an image. His heart rises into his throat when he clicks it open and finds a picture of the bathroom counter in the master bedroom. There are pregnancy tests covering every surface that he can see within the frame.
All different brands. Some have double lines, others say pregnant outright.
"Fuck," Kageyama breathes over his shoulder. "You're gonna be a dad."
Silence falls amongst them as Wakatoshi continues to stare at the picture.
And then Hinata bursts into gleeful laughter.
"Congratulations!"
It's a catalyst. Atsumu and Kageyama hug him on either side. Ushijima finds a small smile forming on his lips. He's going to be a father.
"I'm going to be a father," he says slowly.
"Hell fucking yeah!" Atsumu attempts, futilely, to pick him up and Ushijima's smile turns into a surprised laugh. Cheers ring up around the court.
The celebration is cut short by the shrill ringing of Iwaizumi's phone. He's stunned to see your name on his trainer's screen. Iwaizumi eyes him as he answers.
"No he's- he- wait a minute now- he's right here- I-" Iwaizumi seems to grow more frantic the longer he tries to calm you down.
Ushijima snatches the phone from him.
"Hello?"
You sob. A full, ugly, hiccupping, gross sob. You can't even speak to him, can't even express how you feel. The turmoil you've been in for the past fifteen minutes as you waited for his response and then got none.
"Sweetheart," he breathes, and he doesn't sound upset. You try to suck air into your lungs, to gather yourself together so you can have an actual conversation with him but God just hearing his voice soothes your nerves but also unravels them. "We're having a baby?"
You nod, and then catching yourself and suck in a huge breath. "Mhm," you manage to croak out. "Mhm, we are,â you whimper.
Ushijima is quiet for a moment. You can just make out a bit of whispering in the background and the sound of sneakers squeaking before he responds. "Are you upset? Do you-" he gulps "-do you not want to have-"
You shake your head frantically. "I thought you were mad! You left me on seen and then you didn't answer your phone and I know you had a plan and we're not marrie-"
Ushijima grunts. "I don't care about any of that. I care about you and I and what we have right now. And if that's a baby then I'm- I'm very happy, extremely happy to do whatever you want to do."
You begin to sob again, but for a different reason.
"Please don't cry, you're breaking my heart."
A startled laugh interrupts your hiccupping at his sudden admission.
"I'm too far away to comfort you and it's driving me crazy."
"I love you," you giggle wetly.
Ushijima's smile is tiny as he replies, completely ignoring the presence of a wide eyed Atsumu and smug Aran. "I love you too. I'll be home in a day or two."
âMad has pink hairâ, is the first thing to leave Oikawa Tooruâs mouth when his fellow bandmate and best friend enters their practice room half an hour later than usual.
At the mention of the lead singer, your head almost brutally whips to the side and nervously searches for the sight your best friend has just pointed out. And, as you let out a shaky sigh, you try to keep your composure as best as you can but just as usual, this turns out to be a bigger struggle than you make it to be.
However, despite the intensity of Kyoutani Kentarouâs dominant and strong aura, you can't stop yourself from letting your gaze subtly roam his tall figure.
His body is covered in dark leather from head to toe, the only colored part of his appearance being his freshly dyed pastel pink hair; tons of chains casually dangling from his waistband but also adorning his tattoo covered neck. Your eyes find their way to his strong hands, the dark lines on his tanned, veiny skin sending shivers down your spine and within a second, you catch yourself thinking about the mental image of having them wrapped around your throat.
You feel yourself getting flustered at the mere thought of doing such lewd things with the lead singer, yet every single night itâs him you think of when your hand finds its way into your drenched panties, regardless of how much he intimidates you.
A soft sigh falls past your lips when his strong scent, a mixture of cigarette smoke and citrus, hits your senses in the best way possible. However, that exact scent easily pulls you back into reality.
By the time you find your way out of your arousal filled haze, youâre quick to notice two pairs of eyes boring into you from the side.
âWhy donât you just take a p- ouch, Iwa!â, Oikawaâs soft voice breaks into a whine at his best friendâs elbow hitting his stomach in a rather harsh way and for the nth time within just an hour, youâre grateful for Iwaizumiâs presence and ability to keep the pretty guitarist in his lane.
âSorry, little oneâ, Hajime mumbles and rolls his eyes, his fingers pulling the little cigarette from behind his ears before he gently lays it in between his lips and lights it right after, âheâs even more talkative than usual.â
âItâs okay-â, âIâm sorry for being late, guys, traffic was a pain in the ass as usualâ, Kyoutaniâs deep, raspy voice easily overtones your weak attempt at voicing out your gratitude towards Iwa and you hate, yet love the effect he has on you.
You donât even care that he blatantly interrupted or hasnât even made the effort to at least glance at you. Just the mere thought of his presence as close to you as possible is everything you need and want.
And youâre very much aware just how pathetic you are, but at this point you canât bring yourself to deny anything regarding Kyoutani Kentarou anymore.
After knowing him for as long as you do, youâve finally come to accept his rather negative or neutral, both equally bad, feelings towards you.
Itâs been literal years since Iwaizumi, your childhood best friend and neighbor, had introduced you to his grumpy bandmate yet nothing has changed ever since.
Kyoutaniâs never even tried to like or get to know you, despite the large amount of time you spent with him and the other guys.
In the beginning you struggled a lot with his distant attitude, your brain making sure to plant the thought of his distance towards you being your weight and your general physical appearance but as the years went by, you just grew used to it. Back then, he used to startle you whenever he started talking, whereas now you just enjoy the soothing sound of his raspy voice.
You canât remember when exactly you had developed the huge and disgusting crush on the lead singer with the buzzcut, you just know that at one point you couldnât stop thinking about him. It didnât take long for you to realize just how bad you had fallen for him â a guy who made it seem like talking to or just looking at you was pure torture.
Iwa was also rather quick to notice your shy glances and dreamy stares towards his tattoo clad best friend.
But he waited until you came and talked to him about it, knowing you needed the time to process your own feelings before he got indirectly involved.
To his, and probably your own surprise too, you told him to never ever mention anything when Kyoutani is around. You simply didnât and still donât want him to know with the sole intentions of saving your own heart. Youâve had enough guys break your heart or take advantage of you because of your bigger body, you certainly donât want to go through another one of those heartbreaks.
Because after everything, one thing wonât ever change â Kentarou doesnât like you.
A harsh fact youâre very much aware of, which is why you definitely donât need him to explicitly voice it out and make you feel even worse about yourself than you already do.
And you definitely like the little fake image of him, which youâve created in your head over the past few years way too much to let go just yet.
So, just as usual, you calmly avert your gaze to the floor and let out a soft sigh before you let yourself get back to reality.
âDonât worry about itâ, Iwaizumi replies calmly, running one of his ring clad hands through his thick hair as he approaches the pink haired lead singer, âTadashiâs sucking off Terushima in the storage room, so we canât get started anywayâ, he casually adds, eliciting a groan of annoyance from Kyoutani, but soft giggles from you.
âI woke up horny so I didnât last as long as usual, big boyâ, Terushima, the bandâs drummer and Kyoutaniâs best friend, suddenly exclaims as he strolls out of the door at the very back of the practice room, followed by his freckled boyfriend, Yamaguchi Tadashi.
âWe said no more blowjobs in the storage room, Teruâ, Kentarou scolds the drummer, softly knocking the fake blondeâs head to the side as he comes to stand in front of him, âthere are always cum stains everywhere and you never clean up after yourself, you fucking cunt.â
âAlways with the swearing, I swear to God..â, Oikawa sighs and rolls his eyes as he puts his hair into a little bun before grabbing his guitar with care.
âJokes on you, I cum in my bunnyâs mouth, all the way down his pretty throat. Heâs the one who likes to get messyâ, Terushima shamelessly replies, his response making all of you let out growls of annoyance and slight disgust because of its lewdness.
âYuuji!â, Tadashi finally intervenes, freckled cheeks tainted in the deepest shades of red as his boyfriendâs choice of words leaves him flustered.
âWas that TMI?â, this time he looks directly at you and without missing a beat, you nod.
âOf fucking course it was, you little piece of-â, âThatâs enough, you little fuckers. Letâs just get started with practice already, weâve got an important gig soonâ, Iwaizumi is the one to take the lead; his naturally dominant aura making it way easier for him to handle two personalities as strong as theirs.
âOh, my Goodnessâ yes! I just know this time weâre gonna get that producer to listen to our tracks and put us under his label and after that weâre going to get big. I can feel it in my cockâ, Oikawa replies, his pretty eyes gleaming with excitement as he talks about his biggest dream.
You canât help but smile at the way neither of the boys say anything, knowing all of them think- or hope for the exact same thing to happen. After all, they've been working towards this exact dream for literal years now.
And now that theyâve finally gotten such a good opportunity, itâs been a lot more stressful and nerve-wrecking than they had expected it to be. This isnât the first time said producerâs going to watch the boys perform live, but this performance is going to be their last chance to show him their potential.
You donât know whatâs going on with Kyoutani but you know the other three boys are basically just piles of anxiety and nervousness after months of waiting for this day to come around.
âYouâre right, Zumiâ, Kyoutani sighs and takes off his heavy leather coat, exposing his toned body to your hungry eyes and without even hesitating, you let your eyes take in the sight of his black shirt basically clinging to his torso.
However, just when heâs about to keep talking, your eyes fall to his right hand and at the sudden sight of his bruised, partly even blood covered knuckles and fingers, you canât help but let out an audible gasp.
âWhat?â, Terushima quickly reacts to you, his eyes roaming your face nervously before the other boys, including Kyoutani, turn their heads to look at you.
âYour uhm- your knucklesâ, your voice is a mere whisper, the lead singerâs intimidating gaze making your heart pound against your rib cage, âyouâre bleeding.â
Kyoutani tilts his head to the side before he lifts his right hand up, obviously not even remembering his little injury as he nods and just shrugs it off.
âWhat the fuck happened, Kenta?â, Iwaizumi hisses, approaching the younger one with concern-filled eyes before he comes to stand in front of him.
âItâs not a big dealâ, said singer just replies, pulls himself out of his best friendâs grip and moves to grab one of the water bottles you had set on a random chair when you arrived, âI got into a fight with my...him. Iâll be okay, donât worry.â
You gulp harshly at his words; instant memories of Kyoutaniâs current situation at home flashing up in your mind and easily sending shivers of discomfort down your spine.
He doesnât talk about it with you, of course he doesnât. But from what Hajime and Tooru have said, you know that Kyoutani has always been struggling with his family due to several reasons.
You donât know as much as youâd like to, but youâd rather not dig further into something, especially if the possibility of Kyoutani getting mad at you knowing about his life is potentially high.
âBroâ, Terushima lets out a deep sigh, his pierced brows furrowed in anger and a soft blush grazing the apples of his cheeks as he takes his best friendâs face into his big hands, âyou have to move out. Take your mother and the girls and get the fuck out of there or else heâs going to make you kill him.â
You attentively watch the way Kyoutaniâs whole body tenses up at the drummerâs words, his hands balled into tight fists and his jaw visibly clenching.
The heavy tension in the air feels suffocating; breathing properly suddenly seems like a whole challenge and with one glance at Yamaguchi, you know youâre not the only one to feel that way.
âHow the fuck am I supposed to do that when heâs not letting them go, Teru? Every time I tell my mother to pack her and the girlsâ fucking bags, he threatens her with some kind of shit and makes her back out of itâ, Kyoutani presses through gritted teeth, the volume of his voice steadily growing the more the madness seems to take over him.
âAnd besides thatâ, he sighs, âitâs not like we have anywhere to go. Neither of you can take us in and I simply canât get us a new apartment because I donât have any moneyâ, and suddenly, you feel your heartbeat picking up its pace with such intensity, you feel it thrumming in your throat.
It takes you a good minute to calm yourself down, the thoughts racing through your mind are easily sending you into a heavy bliss of anxiety and nervousness.
However, before any of the guys can say anything or you get the chance to overthink that one thought in your head, your body acts before your mind can follow.
âYou could stay at my placeâ, you throw into the silence of the big practice room; your voice a lot steadier than you expected it to be, âmy sibling just moved out and I have a spare room your mum and sisters could stay inâ, you explain with your gaze falling to the floor when the fear of Kyoutaniâs reaction overwhelms you.
âWhat? Are you serious? Donât you dare fuck with me, Y/Nâ, he suddenly hisses; his brows furrowing even further and the way he comes closer to you has you gulping harshly.
Itâs not even necessarily his choice of words but the general fact heâs even directly talking to you, which has your head spinning from the heaviness of your anxiety.
âWatch your language when you speak to her, Kentaâ, Iwaizumi adds, quickly coming to stand next to you, knowing his other best friend has a tendency to let his emotions take over his rational thinking.
âYesâ, you say quickly, finally getting yourself to actually lift your head and meet his strong gaze, only to look away after a solid second because of the intensity of his stare, âI am either at work or campus most of the time and barely have anyone come over, so I donât really mind having you guys there. And you donât have to give me any money, either. My parents bought us the apartment before they passed away, so I donât have to pay for rent anyway.â
Kyoutani listens to your every word, his eyes rapidly roaming your face as you speak before he lets out a loud sigh of relief, followed by his facial features softening in a way youâve never experienced before.
âThatâs uhm- thatâs really kind. Thank you, Y/Nâ, he sighs and when his lips suddenly stretch into a genuine, sweet smile to the point that his dimples appear on each side of his cheeks, you canât help but look at him in complete shock.
âOfâŠcourseâ, you smile back awkwardly, pulling at your fingers and trying your best to calm your heart and mind down, âI know how it feels to live in an abusive household, so Iâm always happy to help someone escape from one.â
In response to your words, silence fills the room.
And thatâs when you realize that, different than usual, you actually mentioned something this significant about yourself to someone other than Iwaizumi.
You feel the anxiety crippling up your spine in the most disgusting way possible; a shaky exhale falling past your lips as your body desperately tries to calm your rushing mind down.
âAnywayâ, you suddenly say, nervously scratching your neck while lifting your head to meet Kyoutaniâs slightly overwhelmed gaze, âhow about you tell your Mum to pack her stuff so we can pick her and the girls up and bring them to my flat? Iâll make sure to make them feel at home, I promise.â
You donât really know why or how you managed to form all those sentences when Kyoutani Kentarou, the guy youâve been hopelessly crushing on for years, is standing so close and is actually talking to you. However, you definitely like the warmth spreading in your chest and the pride filling your veins when you think about all those times you oh so desperately wanted to talk to him, but let your anxiety get the best of you.
But, none of that changes the fact that your heart is brutally slamming against your rib cage, thrumming in your ears with such high volume, you struggle to hear your own words properly.
âAre you sure youâre okay with this? My youngest sister is three years old and the other one just turned five, so I donât know if you really want to deal with kids after such long daysâ, Kyoutani mumbles, running his tattooed hand over his freshly dyed buzz cut before he starts playing with the rings on his fingers.
You canât help but smile at his behavior. The usually so cold and distant Mad Dog, a nickname Oikawa gave him years ago, turning into this sweet, flustered little puppy right in front of you is definitely not something youâve expected to witness any time soon.
âI like children and they usually like meâ, you smile encouragingly, âso yes, I am sure Iâm okay with this. Give her a call and tell her weâll be there after you guys finish practicing. We can grab some food on the way and maybe some snacks for the girls because I only have instant ramen noodles and two bananas in my kitchen right nowâ, you continue, earning a loud groan of disappointment from your best friend who loves to spend his time scolding you for your awful eating habits.
âAlright then, Iâll do that really quick and â thank you, Y/N. I appreciate this a lotâ, Kyoutani gives you one last smile of gratitude before he pulls his phone out of his pocket, quickly sticking a cigarette in between his lips as he exits the practice room to talk to his mother.
And as soon as the pink haired lead singer disappears, you let go of the breath youâve been holding subconsciously.
âDamn, little oneâ, Oikawa suddenly says, throwing his arm over your shoulder and casually pinching your chubby cheeks with his slim, ring clad fingers, âyouâre finally gonna get a chance to suck his cock just like youâve been imagining it.â
âOh, fuck off, Tooruâ, you hiss through gritted teeth, rolling your eyes at his words before you push him away from you.
âHeâs kinda right, thoughâ, this time itâs Yamaguchiâs soft voice which gently cuts through the silence in the practice room and with your eyebrows raised in utter shock, you turn to face the freckled boy, âdonât get me wrong, I am not saying youâre gonna jump his bones now. But youâre getting to spend some more time with him alone and at some point he wonât have a choice but to talk to you, so the two of you might get closerâ, he explains, his words making it even easier for your brain to create a row of fake scenarios and without replying anything, you nod softly.
âOr you just tell him you want him to father your children and boom, case solved.â
At Yuujiâs take on the situation, the whole room grows silent, yet again. Only Tadashi reacts by giving him a soft kiss on the lips before the others continue to get their instruments ready.
âIâve told you this a couple of times but he doesnât hate you, I promiseâ, Iwa continues after a beat of silence had filled the room, âespecially not after this, so stop being so fucking shy about it.â
At the persistent tone of his voice, you canât help but look at Iwaizumi with furrowed brows since heâs never been like this when it came to your not so little crush on his bandmate.
But before you can even question it in any way, the front door is being opened again and you watch the front singer walk back inside.
When Kyoutani returns, a big smile is planted on his face and literal relief gleams in his usually so cold gaze, a sight you definitely could get used to. And for the first time in years, he looks you directly in the eyes and shoots you a wink; his change in demeanor leaving you completely overwhelmed. Yet you canât help but feel your whole body growing hotter as your head repeats the beautiful image inside of your mind until it becomes the only thing up there.
Usually, practice goes by rather slowly. You enjoy spending time with your best friends and listening to their music; the general atmosphere in the practice room calms you down in a really different way which is why you even crave these kinda evenings after long, exhausting days.
However, this time the three hours of practice seem to fly by because by the time the boys start packing up again, you struggle to remember which songs they played and what they talked about in their short smoking breaks.
You know itâs because your body is still buzzing with anxiety at the thought of Kyoutani and his family staying at your house but for some reason you also canât stop overthinking what your best friend had told you a couple of hours ago.
Iwaizumi isnât the type of person to just say something without there being some kind of meaning to it, not even if itâs to calm you down, so now youâve already come to the point where you canât seem to stop yourself from reading more into his words than usual.
âKawa picked you up, right?â, the sudden sound of Kyoutaniâs voice filling the rather quiet practice room is the one to pull you out of your thoughts and without properly processing who actually asked you that question, you start nodding.
âAlrightâ, he adds and pushes his freshly rolled cigarette behind his ear, âthen we wonât have to go in separate carsâ, Kyoutani locks his phone and pushes it into his pocket before he looks up at you and then searches for a lighter.
Youâre quick to hand him the one in the little front pocket of your bag which you carry around in case Iwaizumi or Oikawa happen to have lost theirs again.
Thereâs a bit of an awkward silence filling the empty space of the alleyway, making it a bit harder for you to maintain your composure and despite the cold weather, you canât help but appreciate the fresh air filling your lungs.
âKimiko and Koharuâ, Kyoutani suddenly begins and places his cigarette between his plump lips, the names obviously making him smile and you canât help but look at him with confusion written all over your face.
âThe one who just turned five is Kimiko and the three year oldâs name is Koharuâ, heâs quick to explain it and as you realise that heâs talking about his little sisters, you understand his genuine and soft reaction.
As you watch the way Kyoutani takes a long drag from the deadly stick, you decide not to add anything to his words just yet because it feels like he has a little bit more to tell you about the two girls youâre about to meet.
And just as you expected, he continues to talk once he starts blowing the smoke out with a soft sigh.
âTo keep it short: theyâre basically like âKawa and Zumiâ, he explains to you and this time you canât stop your lips from stretching into a wide smile at his words.
âNow I need you to elaborate on that, pleaseâ, after finally letting yourself calm down a little you manage to make a comment and when Kyoutani chuckles softly, the tension in your muscles finally seems to disappear.
You can hear the boysâ voices from inside the practice room and for a moment you feel the urge to frown because you wonât get to be alone with Kyoutani anymore but his voice quickly pulls your attention back to him.
âThey fight and argue a lot because their personalities are so different but they also canât live without each otherâ, Kyoutani runs a tattooed hand over his freshly dyed pink buzzcut, his eyes roaming your face attentively as you start nodding at his words with an approving smile on your lips.
You wonder what he thinks of you. Thereâs a part inside of you which wants to know whether or not he thinks youâre pretty or if he likes your eyes, your smile or your voice. You want to know whether or not he finds you attractive and maybe even sexy, your brain allowing you to ignore the possibility of him not being into bigger girls at all. But it doesnât take long for you to get back to your usual way of thinking since youâve convinced yourself that youâre not his type long ago and he probably doesnât even care about what you look like because youâre not worth his time.
It takes you a good moment to shake off those annoying thoughts and in just that moment, Kyoutani decides to add something else to his explanation.
âTheyâre good kids. Theyâre well behaved and donât really cause any problems or troubles. My Momâs tried her best to give them what they need and their scumbag of a father treats them okay. He prefers to mentally and...physically abuse me and my Mom, just gets a little louder when they cry too much but thatâs itâ, Kyoutaniâs words are carefully chosen; he takes his time to find the right ones and doesnât rush himself in order to avoid any misunderstandings and it doesnât take a psychologist to understand that heâs incredibly hesitant to open up about his family issues.
You canât and wouldnât blame him because youâre basically the same when it comes to these difficult topics yet you struggle to hide your reaction because after all this is the very first time heâs ever told you anything about himself.
âI think theyâre both gonna like you a lot, but Koharuâs going to love you. She loves spending time with pretty girls and I honestly canât blame her for thatâ, is the last thing Kyoutani casually adds and you know itâs to ease the tension in the air but as soon as your brain manages to process his words, you freeze.
You barely manage to react to Terushimaâs unnecessary comments as the four boys come to join you two in front of the door and if it wasnât for Oikawa almost brutally nudging your arm with his elbow, you wouldnât have moved another inch for God knows how long.
Kyoutani Kentarou, the guy â your crush of several years who was basically unreachable for you up until an hour ago, told you that he considers you pretty or at least sees you as a part of the âpretty girlsâ and you absolutely hate the way your chest starts blossoming with this very special warmth.
âWhatâs wrong?â, this time itâs Iwaizumi's deep voice which brings you back to reality and when you lift your head to meet the comfort of his green eyes, you canât help but let out a loud sigh of frustration.
âAbsolutely fucking nothingâ, you reply and throw your backpack over one shoulder before rolling your eyes at yourself, âand thatâs the fucking problem.â
âYouâre stressing me the fuck out, did you know that?â, Iwa shoots back with his eyebrows furrowed in irritation before he follows you to the cars and tells you to text him once you get home only for you to pout at him like a teenager.
Thankfully the ride to pick up Kyoutaniâs Mom and sisters is a lot less stressful and nerve wrecking, mostly because youâre accompanied by Terushima and Yamaguchi but you also feel a little less tense and anxious for God knows what reason.
Something about Kentarouâs body language tells you that he seems just as nervous as you and you wonder if itâs because heâs scared of their reactions or if itâs because heâs going to stay in your apartment with them.
Neither one of you has bothered to mention it, but it seems like the only plausible option the whole plan comes with so youâve been trying your very best to prepare yourself for the upcoming time. Of course thereâs also the possibility that one of the boys takes Kyoutani in but you still like to keep your hopes up high.
Youâre nervously pulling at your fingers as you calmly inhale the cold air of the night in hopes of making the waiting a little more bearable.
Kyoutaniâs still talking to Terushima and Yamaguchi as they finish their cigarettes only to throw them away as soon as they hear the contagious chuckles of one of the two girls currently approaching the car alongside their mother.
You try your very best to stop yourself from staring but as you watch the girls pick up their pace just to jump into their older brotherâs arms, you find yourself mesmerized by the heartwarming scenario in front of you.
Itâs not difficult for you to tell the girls apart despite their similar facial features. They not only share the same hair color and style but their big smiles are almost identical and as you let your eyes roam their soft faces, you spot the little dimples on each of their chubby cheeks, the little detail basically emphasizing the family resemblance even more.
It takes the girls a good minute to shift their attention away from their older brother but as soon as their eyes meet yours, you canât help but smile.
Yet, before you can actually greet them, you notice someone in the corner of your eye and without hesitation, you turn to face Kyoutaniâs mother with a polite smile.
âGood evening, Maâamâ, you begin calmly, lifting your hand before you bow slightly, âitâs a pleasure to meet you. Iâm Y/N.â
You feel your heartbeat fastening as you try your best to stop yourself from staring at her but thereâs just something that makes this incredibly difficult, yet you canât seem to point out what it actually is.
Her dark hair is put in a bun, a few strands falling into her rather young looking face and the second your eyes meet hers, you feel a sense of comfort and safety surround you like a capsule.
âThe pleasure is mine, my Loveâ, she replies calmly before placing her delicate hands over yours, making the warmth of her skin meet yours, âthank you so much for this. You have absolutely no idea how much we needed this. I donât know what Tani has told you already, but itâs been really bad lately and I know this is gonna do wonders for the girls.â
Her voice is soft, slightly hoarse yet oh so comforting and as you watch her speak, you canât help but smile at her mentioning her nickname for the lead singer.
âIâm happy to be some kind of help, really. If he told me a little sooner, I would have made this offer a long time ago since I wasnât gonna look for a roommate anywayâ, you explain thoughtfully, genuinely enjoying the way Kyoutaniâs mother is still holding onto your hands oh so dearly before she lets go and pushes a dark, curly strand behind her ear.
âYouâve got such a kind heart, I can tell by the way youâre looking at me. I hope your partner knows how lucky they areâ, she breaks into a soft chuckle and at the mention of a lover, you canât help but get flustered before joining her.
âI donât have a partnerâ, you add quickly and shift your gaze to the floor, âbut my boys appreciate me a lot so thereâs no lack of that!â
Kyoutaniâs mother smiles at your words, her gentle eyes slowly shift to the tall figure of her son whoâs currently trying his best to balance both of his sisters on his back.
You wonder what sheâs thinking about because there obviously seems to be something thatâs occupying her mind yet you donât find it in you to ask her about it just yet.
And you donât even get another moment with her as loud cheers start ringing in your ears before you watch the way Terushima walks up to his best friendâs Mother and pulls her into a tight hug after bowing to her.
After about an hour, you find yourself cleaning up the kitchen while Kyoutani and his family get started with unpacking their things and although itâs been quite fun with the girls, you still feel this certain kind of tension lingering in your muscles.
Itâs never been just you and Kentarou for longer than five minutes and now youâve spent the last two hours casually talking to him, his sisters and his mother.
You lose yourself in your rather nerve wrecking train of thoughts and if it wasnât for the sound of a door opening, you would have gone even deeper.
By the heavy steps and the sounds of dangling chains, followed by the familiar scent of cigarettes and vanilla you donât even have to lift your head and finally meet the rather calming gaze of your new flatmate.
âThe girls fell asleep and my mumâs in the showerâ, Kyoutani whispers, the soft expression in his usually so tense and strict features suddenly making him look a lot younger than he is and you canât help but love this side of him.
âDid you tell her about the towels I hung up for her and the girls?â
You try your best to stay calm and composed but just feeling his strong eyes roaming your body makes you nervous and all of a sudden you regret changing into your pajamas before making sure that everyoneâs asleep.
In your defense: you genuinely didnât expect to talk to any of them before heading to sleep which is why youâre now dressed in some random shorts and a really old shirt that barely leaves anything to anyoneâs imagination.
And on top of it all, a wave of anxious thoughts about your body, your big thighs, your tummy and your big arms makes this whole situation a lot more difficult than it already is.
Kyoutani obviously notices the way youâre losing yourself in your train of thoughts, which is why he doesnât hesitate much with his response.
âMhm, I didâ, he says and finally manages to make you look up at him again, âshe probably hasnât had a hot shower in weeks so I told her to take the time she needs, I hope thatâs okay.â
Right before you properly process his words, you start nodding, just to stop mid-action when you realize what he had just told you.
âWaitâŠwhat do you mean she hasn't had a hot shower in weeks?â
A beat of complete silence follows your words and thatâs how you know that this is one of those rather difficult topics for him.
To your surprise, Kentarou comes to sit down at the counter, nervously playing with the many rings on his fingers as he tries to find the right words.
âHer menace of a fucking husband doesnât have a job so they canât always pay the water and electric billsâŠMost of the time my moneyâs only enough for the rent and some groceries, so sheâs been heating up water for the girls and opt to cold water for her own showers.â, Kyouâs tone shifts from angry to sad as soon as he stops talking about his motherâs partner and if it wasnât for the weeks youâve spent watching him and analyzing his body language, you wouldn't have noticed the way he started pulling on his fingers to calm himself down.
âMy mother used to do that for us, tooâ, you say before you get a chance to overthink your words and you canât help but tense up at the thought of opening up to Kentarou, someone you know but donât actually know.
âAnd of course thatâs absolutely okay. I want her to feel as comfortable and safe as possible; this is their home now, tooâ, to shift the attention away from your little slip into your own childhood, you try to wrap it up by responding to his previous question.
âMiko and Haru already love it so much, they donât even mind sharing a bed for nowâ, Kyoutani continues and lets out a soft chuckle, his big hand reaches for one of the little water bottles on the counter and you canât help but smile when you realize that heâs slowly getting more comfortable in your presence.
âHaru asked if she could sleep in my bed but your Mother intervenedâ, the memory of your conversation with the three year old has you smiling even bigger before you lift your head to look at him; your heart skipping a beat the moment your gazes meet, âI wouldnât have minded that at all, though. Sheâs adorable and absolutely hilarious.â
And before you could even finish your little comment, Kyoutani Kenatrou throws his head back and lets out a genuine row of laughter, his reaction easily overwhelming you since youâve literally never heard him laugh like this before. Not even with his boys.
You subconsciously start enjoying a sound so special and dear echoing through the silence of the night and you donât even think about forgetting it ever again.
âSheâs so unnecessarily funny for a three year oldâ, he says and rubs his chin, his eyes so much softer and calmer ever since youâve arrived at your apartment and you canât deny how much you like this new version of him.
âAnyway, I should get going, now that everyoneâs safe and soundâ, Kyoutani gets up from the chair and reaches for his jacket, doesnât even give you enough time to register his words.
âWhat?â, you blurt out and look at him with confusion gleaming in your eyes, not even realising how loud your voice is.
âHuh? What do you mean? Iâm leaving to stay at Teruâsâ, Kyoutani explains and looks at you, adjusting his leather jacket and barely holding back his little smile in response to your outburst.
âOhâ, you sigh softly and try your very best to find the right words but you canât avert your gaze from his strong body; basically devouring the poor guy alive and for a moment you lose absolute track, only to be pulled back into reality by the sound of Kentarouâs voice.
âEyes on me, pretty girlâ, his words hit you like a truck and if it wasnât for the fact that youâre seated already, you would have lost your balance, âwhat was that âohâ about, hm?â
âI â uhm â I wasnât expecting you to leaveâ, you reply and try to maintain the last bit of your composure but the longer you look into his hungry eyes, the weaker your knees become and for a moment you feel yourself fall even deeper into the haze of your arousal.
Kentarou seems to enjoy your reaction to his choice of words and you hate how every bit of your body wants to give yourself to him, when this is probably just his casual way of talking to people he feels comfortable around.
âReally? Youâd be okay with me staying here?â
Without even missing a beat, you start nodding.
It feels like your body is running on autopilot because of the sudden change of the tension between you two.
âYesâ, you say with a little more confidence, âIâm sure your mother would much rather have you here with us, too.â
Of course youâre not going to tell him about how you're absolutely desperate to spend even more one-on-one time with him; not any time soon, at least.
âMy mother, huh?â, Kyoutani smirks and takes his jacket off again, making your heart skip a beat.
All you can do is nod. Your throat has already dried up and you feel like youâre going to pass out from the sudden heat overwhelming your body. You try your very best to keep your reactions down, nervously playing with the hem of your shirt and avoiding his gaze like heâs going to turn you into stone if you looked at him.
âHey, what happened with you and your little puppy boy?â, Kentarou asks, his voice is a little less amused and there seems to be a sudden shift in his expression which you canât exactly pinpoint.
It takes you a whole minute to understand who heâs talking about and as soon as you realise, you roll your eyes in annoyance. Not because of him, but because of the âpuppy boyâ in question.
âWe broke upâ, you begin and get up to get yourself and him something to drink, but mostly to hide from his strong gaze, âeverything was going well at first but then he got all weird and kept doing and saying things which made me super uncomfortable. Whenever I tried to talk to him about it, he got unnecessarily defensive instead of respecting my boundaries, so I called things off.â
You let out a loud sigh at the memory of your ex-boyfriend, just the thought of him never failing to exhaust you.
âWhat kind of things are we talking about?â, Kentarou replies calmly, thanking you for the cup as he watches you turn on the kettle.
âOnly if youâre comfortable answering that of courseâ, he quickly adds and makes you smile just like that, yet again.
âAt first, my weight was never a topic in our conversationsâ, you say and feel a wave of disappointment hit you, âbut the longer we were together, the more he started mentioning it. ButâŠnot in the way you might think. He didnât tell me to lose weight or fat shamed me, he actually did quite the opposite but in the most uncomfortable way possible.â
Thereâs a beat of silence once you finish your sentence, your focus falling to the way Kyoutani is playing with his rings as you wait for the water to boil.
âThis is gonna be quite TMI and I actually canât believe Iâm telling you this, of all people, but Iâve got nothing to lose so why notâ, you warn him and fill up his cup before you do the same with your own and then come back to sit right across from him.
A weird kind of comfort fills your chest; something you havenât felt with anyone in quite a while and you've never expected Kyoutani to be the reason for this.
âIâll be okay, go ahead, pretty oneâ, his response is cool and calm, yet pushes you to the edge of your seat and you hate how much his words affect you.
âHe wasnât the best with words â at all. However, his dirty talk was absolutely horrificâ, you cringe at the memory of all those nights you had to listen to your past lover say things you would have never expected to hear from anyone with an ounce of decency, âhe always included my weight and when we first started dating, i thought he was worshipping or like â appreciating me, but boy was I wrong.â
Kyoutani looks at you with furrowed brows and you can tell from his body language how heâs slowly beginning to despise someone he has met exactly once before in his life.
And for some reason, you like his reactions, but then again, youâre head over heels in love with him so thatâs not surprising you in the slightest.
âLong story short, I dumped him after he kept calling me hisâŠfat bitch while we were having sexâ, you come straight to the point, not wanting to do this to yourself and Kyoutani any longer.
And once those words pass your lips, the lead singerâs jaw literally drops.
You try to play it cool to hide your embarrassment, taking a little sip from your tea and looking up at him through your lashes.
âPlease, tell me he at least made you cumâ, Kentarou suddenly whisper-growls, his dark eyes roaming your features attentively and taking in the way you gulp harshly in response to his intimate question.
âNoâ, you simply reply and shrug, âI didnât get intimate with him that much, so he didnât have that many chances but the ones he had, he actually missed.â
Kyoutani seems shocked, to say the least.
His eyes are focusing you as he tries to wrap his around the loser of a man you used to date.
âIâm glad you dumped his fucking assâ, is the first thing he says after his initial, wordless reaction, âyou deserve so much better.â
âYeah, I donât know about thatâ, you chuckle and scratch your neck, âI think Iâm gonna take a break from seeing anyone. Being a fetish or the wannabe âsuccessâ story of people is quite draining so Iâve decided to just drop it, you know?â, you explain to him, your eyes softly meeting his gaze before they drop to his mouth and you feel your body literally aching for his soft lips on your skin, something you can only ever dream of.
Kyoutani wants to say something, anything. There are so many things on his mind, yet he falls completely silent in front of you.
But how is he supposed to tell you how heâs what you deserve? How could he possibly explain to you that heâs wanted you to be with him since the very first time heâs laid his eyes on you?
Heâs not even brave enough to show any kind of interest in you with his boys, his literal brothers, around. Where is he supposed to find the balls to tell you all of the things heâs thinking?
If you only knew how much he liked you, how much he wanted to be everything those guys failed to be â in every aspect possible.
âOh, Goodnessâ, you suddenly say and pull Kentarou back into reality, far away from all of his thoughts and unsaid words, âitâs so late already and Iâm rambling like a teenager to you, Iâm sorry.â
âDonât ever be sorry about that, Y/Nâ, Kyoutani suddenly says and manages to smile up at you, âIâm glad you feel comfortable enough with me to talk to me like this. And thank you for answering my question so honestlyâ, he continues, yet never once looks away from your face until he watches the way you get up.
He canât help but let his gaze roam over your curves, the thick flesh of your thighs and the way your shirt is hugging every part of your body just right never fails to leave him lightheaded. A sight heâs always had to admire from afar up until today. He could be less obvious about it, but heâs had to hide it for so long already, at this point heâs just tired.
âThank you, Kyoutaniâ, you say and smile at him, âIâll go get you a blanket and a pillow so you can get comfortable on the couch. I also donât mind sleeping here if you wanna have some privacy.â All of a sudden, you feel way more nervous than just a few minutes ago and you hate how the feeling of his eyes on your body leaves you completely lightheaded. Youâre surprised youâve even managed to form a proper sentence, let alone offer your room to him.
âThe couch is perfectâ, Kyoutani says and gets up, coming to stand right in front of you â a lot closer than you could have ever imagined him to be.
âI know Iâve always been quite cold to you, pretty girlâ, he suddenly whispers and gently caresses your cheek with the back of his fingers, knocking every bit of air out of your lungs almost brutally, âbut I actually enjoy your company a lot. My distance is just a self defense mechanism.â
His sudden explanation leaves you confused and absolutely overwhelmed but does not fail to reassure you just the way youâve been craving it.
âI â what do you â really?â Youâre stumbling over your words like a toddler, your brain just struggling to process whatever is going on and still you manage to feel hope fill the emptiness in your chest after dreaming of moments like this for so long.
âIwaizumi told me about your worries and how you think I hate youâ, Kyoutani calmly continues, reaching for your wrist before he places your hand on his own cheek, âIâve never hated you. How could I when youâve been nothing but kind and understanding?â
YouâreâŠshocked.
At least, thatâs the only way for you to explain the way his words leave you completely overwhelmed.
Never in a million years did you expect something like this to happen between the two of you; every single one of your daydreams is currently a lot closer to reality than you would have ever dared to imagine and you simply donât know how to handle it.
âAnd I promise you, Iâm not saying these things because youâre giving me and my family such an amazing opportunity. Iâm telling you these things because for the first time I feelâŠbrave enough.â
Kyoutani seems to choose his words carefully, rethinks and reassigns them as he speaks to eliminate any sort of misunderstanding.
Youâve never seen him like this; so hesitant and calm, nervous even. And although it definitely surprises you, you have absolutely no idea what to expect so all you can do is wait for what youâre about to hear next on the other side.
âSay something, Babyâ, he suddenly says, his voice is a lot raspier than just a second ago and the way his hot breath fans your skin sends goosebumps over your whole body, âI donât care what you say, just something â anything.â
âMy head is â Iâm â I donât knowâ, you whisper and subconsciously reach for the fabric of his shirt, gripping it a little tighter than intended, but also not realising how youâve been pulling him even closer to yourself until you look up at him with needy eyes.
âFuck, youâre cuteâ, Kyou replies and closes his eyes, smiling softly before he gently nudges your nose with his, âand so fucking pretty, too. Youâre driving me crazy.â
âPlease, donât do thisâ, you gulp harshly and wait for him to look at you before you continue, âif youâre going to b-break my heart, I canât â I canât take it, Kentarouâ, youâre aware just how desperate you sound, but the fear of having your dreams destroyed is just too big to consider your pride right now.
âNo, no, no. BabyâŠIâve wanted this for so long.â
The tension between the two of you is thick and heavy, enough to almost literally cut it in half and for a short moment, you feel your breath hitching in your throat as you struggle to gasp for air.
Your thoughts are rushing through your mind at the highest speed possible, your heart basically hammering against your rib cage and your panties slowly turning into a mess with every single one of his words.
âIâve never had towels as soft as these! Might wanna show me where youâve got these from so I can â oh, Goodness! Iâm so sorryâ, Kyoutaniâs mother suddenly exclaims and her sudden appearance manages to have the two of you take two big steps away from each other, leaving some much needed distance inbetween and you feel the tiniest bit of embarrassment washing over your body as you look away from the sweet womanâs face.
âI didnât mean to walk in on you like this, pardon my manners, my sweet Y/Nâ, she says and looks at you with apologetic eyes, not even caring a bit about her flustered mess of a son right next to you.
âNo, no, itâs okay, Maâamâ, you reply quickly and scratch the back of your neck before you reach for your phone and finally dare to look at Kyoutani, âitâs no problem.â
âYou know what? Iâm just gonna go back to the room and head to sleep. Goodnight, sweet loves.â, is everything she says and basically speed runs into her shared bedroom with the girls, probably more than just aware of the awkwardness sheâs put you in.
âSheâs always had amazing timingâ, Kyoutani mumbles and rubs his forehead before he scratches the back of his head and looks up at you.
âDid you see how she literally ran away?â, you chuckle and throw your head back, finally getting rid of some of the tension in your bones, especially once Kentarou calmly joins in on your amusement.
âHow about we talk about this tomorrow morning, hm? Today was a big day for everyone so I think it's best if we call it a night for nowâ, all of a sudden you seem a lot more confident than just a few minutes earlier and you have absolutely no idea how to feel about it.
âYouâre right, yeahâ, is all Kyoutani says before he gets up again and takes another sip from his tea, yet doesnât leave right away.
âThank you for everything, pretty girlâ, he mumbles and smiles softly, his eyes attentively roaming your features, âsweet dreams.â
Maybe itâs because of the exhaustion rushing through your veins or maybe because everything that has happened in the past few minutes has felt nothing but surreal, but if it wasnât for the feeling of actual shivers running down your back, you probably wouldnât have registered the feeling of Kentarouâs soft lips placing the softest kiss on your forehead.
By the time you find yourself lying in the comfort of your bedsheets, your heart is still brutally slamming against your ribcage and you have absolutely no idea how youâre supposed to sleep after a day like this one.
You try your very best to think of something â anything else, but Kyoutani Kentarou and his pretty face and his strong hands and how they might feel roaming your whole body in ways youâve been craving it oh so badly, yet you seem to lose every single time to those exact thoughts.
The responsible part of your brain is already losing every bit of its patience, since sleep does not seem to be an option at all, despite the busy day youâve got ahead, whereas your body has been enjoying all the little shivers and rushes of excitement youâve been dealing with the past hour.
After a while, however, you simply canât help yourself anymore. Your brain is basically stuffed with lewd images of Kyoutani touching you just how you like it and youâre way too tired to give it another thought.
The urge to just reach for your cute little toy and make yourself cum a couple of times to shut your brain out has your fingertips tingling in the best way possible, yet the possibility of someone hearing your silent noises of pleasure easily balances it out.
âFuckingâŠKyoutaniâ, you mumble to yourself and let out a sigh of frustration, unable to control yourself any longer.
The decision might not be your best, but itâs definitely the one you prefer over staying up all night and basically torturing yourself in another way.
At this point, the way your hand finds its way into your panties is almost mechanical. Endless nights spent by yourself, taking care of your needs and your arousal in ways no man has ever managed to do.
Youâre quick to bury your face in your pillow to muffle the desperate whimper you let out as soon as your fingers find your needy clit; the little bundle of nerves already swollen and way too sensitive from how worked up youâve been all day.
As the memories of Kyoutaniâs scent and the feeling of his soft lips on your skin fill your head, you start drawing firm circles into your clit, sighing every single time the motion sends a sweet sensation through your veins as you get closer and closer to your relief.
Maybe itâs the way arousal has already clouded your brain in the best way possible or maybe itâs the fact that youâre too close to pay attention to your surroundings but the second your door slowly opens, your heart basically drops to the pit of your stomach.
âY/N?â, Kyoutaniâs soft voice fills the empty space of your room in an instant and you canât help but whimper as you quickly pull your hand out of your drenched panties, hoping heâs not aware what youâre up to.
âYesââ, your response comes exactly a heartbeat later and you hate how tiny your voice is.
âCan I come in?â
Kentarou seems hesitant yet determined and something in the way his pretty eyes are hooked and way darker than an hour ago has your cunt clenching like crazy.
As soon as you start nodding, Kyoutani walks past your doorstep, closing and locking the door behind him, something you should have done, before he comes to stand next to you. His eyes are roaming your body, basically devouring you alive and leaving you breathless.
Nobody has ever looked at you like this.
And the fact itâs Kyoutani kentarou, of all people, just pushes you even closer to the limits of your sanity.
âWhy didnât you ask me?â, he whispers and kneels down next to your bed to be on eye level with you, making the whole situation a tad bit less awkward and as soon as you look at him, you feel your body loosening up.
âWhat..are you talking about, Kyoutani?â, you try your very best to stay composed but everything is overwhelming you right now and you have absolutely no idea what to think or how to feel.
âWhy did you go and touch yourself when you could have just asked me instead?â
And with this one he finally manages to leave you completely speechless.
You stare at him with big eyes and your mouth open, your cunt reacting before the rest of your body has a chance and you hate yourself for being so weak in front of him.
âI donât know what youâreââ, âDonât lie to me, Babyâ, heâs quick to interrupt you, gets on his feet again and wordlessly asks you to sit up as he reaches for your arm, âIâve been watching you for so long, I know exactly how your body reacts when youâre getting needy. The sound of your voice changes and then your eyesâŠthose God damn eyes of yours are the only reason for my sleepless nights.â
Youâre listening to every single word he says without averting your gaze from his perfect face even once and with every single word your cunt starts clenching even harder.
Of course his sudden interest is surprising to you but you canât hide just how much you enjoy it and if it wasnât for the way he was gently caressing your arm, you would have thought of this as a dream.
âDo you really think, I donât notice the way you press your thighs together whenever you stare at me for a little too long, hm?â
You know heâs teasing you, you know heâs enjoying the way youâre squirming underneath his strong gaze and you know â he wonât stop any time soon, yet as soon as your brain has processed his words, you let out the softest whimper.
âNow, now, cat got your tongue, Baby?â A soft chuckle follows his words and you feel your chest warming up at the sound, easily ignoring the situation youâre in.
You just canât seem to focus, your brain finally shutting down, only for your body to take over and you are not quite sure if you like it as much as you expected to.
âKentaâŠâ, you finally manage to whisper, his first name feeling foreign on your tongue as youâve gotten so used to being as formal with him as possible.
Youâre hesitant, your voice is still tiny and a lot hoarser than just a few minutes ago, yet as soon as Kyoutani throws his head back with a moan thatâs way too loud for this time of the night, you finally feel yourself letting go of every worry and doubt.
âThere you go, thatâs my good girlâ, heâs quick to praise you for basically nothing, probably more than aware just how worked up heâs getting you.
âTell me what you want, Baby. I promise Iâm gonna do whatever it is. This is all about you.â
His offer sounds dreamy; something youâve never heard before, something youâve only had the courage to daydream about because asking for anything in your previous relationships felt uncomfortable.
You donât even know why. Your ex boyfriends werenât the best nor the worst lovers and now that you think back to it, you could have easily asked for what you want but your lack of self confidence made it difficult for you to think of yourself.
âAre you sure?â, you whisper, a wave of uncertainty hitting you the moment you think about your physical appearance. You subconsciously start pulling down your oversized shirt, trying your best to hide your big thighs and arms, way too scared of Kyoutani being disgusted by the sight of you.
âStop thatâ, Kentaâs voice cuts through the tension in the air like a sharp knife and you canât help but gasp, âof course Iâm sure, Baby.â
A beat of silence follows his interruption before he places two of his tattoo clad fingers underneath your chin to push your head up and finally meet your gaze.
âIâve wanted this â you for so long and Iâm not just saying this to make you feel better. Youâre perfect to me and Iâm determined to show you. However, Iâm not gonna do anything you donât want me to. We can just kiss, cuddle or sleep next to each other. For fuckâs sake, we can just hold hands all night if thatâs what you want. I want toâŠgive you everything those little Losers couldnât and Iâm willing to wait for as long as you want me to. Got it, pretty girl?â
His words of reassurance leave youâŠflabbergasted.
Thereâs absolutely no other word to describe the way his sweet little speech has made you feel and after years of wishing for something like this â someone like him, you canât help but get high on the addictive feeling of being wanted and desired.
âI want you, Kentaâ, you reply softly, reaching for his face and gently placing your hand on his cheek, âI need you.â
And thatâs exactly what heâs been waiting for.
Without missing another beat, he pushes your blanket away, revealing your pretty legs to his hungry eyes, a soft grunt escaping his throat the moment he realises youâve gotten rid of your shorts from earlier.
âYouâre so fucking hotâ, he whispers and takes in the sight of your body, âplease tell me what you want me to do to you or Iâm gonna lose my mind.â
Kyoutani reaches for your inner thighs, pushing his hand in between your legs and gently groping the soft flesh, kneading it and never once looking away from your face to make sure he can watch the way you melt for him even further.
âI want you to eat me out, Kentaâ, this time you sound nothing but needy, something heâs wanted to hear for as long as heâs known you, âI want you to be the first one to make me cum like that.â
Kyoutaniâs eyes physically perk up at your request and just when youâre about to regret what you said, he starts nodding as if it took him a good minute to process your words and yet again you find yourself surprised at his intense reaction toâŠyou.
âWhy donât you be a good girl and sit on my face, hm? Iâve been thinking about this for God knows how longâ, he confesses right after gently asking you for something you never thought youâd ever get asked in your lifetime.
Which is probably why you stare at him with big, almost fearful eyes.
âNo, youâre not too big and to be honest I absolutely donât give a fuck about it anyway, I just want you to cum all over my faceâ, heâs quick to reassure you yet again and this time you finally push yourself to just stop worrying and nod in response to his sweet words.
Kentaâs pretty lips stretch into the sweetest smile, deep dimples appearing on each side and you feel yourself falling for him all over again.
âIâm gonna take my shirt off, okay? If you donât feel comfortable, you donât have to do it, Baby, I just want to make you feel good.â As he speaks, his hands find the hem of his shirt before he pulls it over his head and finally reveals his toned, tattoo covered torso to your needy eyes.
âPleaseâ, is the only thing you can get out before you sit up on your knees and place both of your hands flat against his strong chest, gulping harshly at the feeling of his rapid heartbeat underneath your palm.
âOpen your mouth, angelâ, he whispers after waiting a few seconds to give you your time, âbe a good girl for me, yeah?â
You have absolutely no idea what he wants to do, your head spinning way too fast from all the arousal and adrenaline rushing through your veins, yet your body reacts to his words before you can realise it.
Kyoutani nods appreciatively as you part your soft lips and look at him with curious eyes, knocking the breath out of his lungs with just one single stare.
And as you try your best not to whimper when he pushes his hand into your panties, easily finding your cute little clit and applying just the right amount of pressure, Kyoutani puckers his lips and lets a thick drop of his spit fall onto the back of your tongue.
The feeling of his saliva slowly coating the hot muscle in your mouth has your cunt clenching even harder and you canât help but thrust your hips into his grip even further.
âLook at how needy my little princess isâ, Kyoutani teases and runs his strong fingers up and down your drenched slit, âyouâve made a mess of your panties, Baby. What a good girl you are.â
All you can do is listen and nod, your mouth still wide open, his spit sits on your tongue as your body waits for any sort of command from the lead singer in front of you.
âSwallow.â
With the word falling past his lips, Kyou wraps his hand around your throat and growls as soon as he feels the way you swallow every bit of his spit just like that.
Before you can think another thought, he pulls you into a needy kiss, pushing you even deeper into the haze of your arousal as he pushes his tongue into your mouth and gives you exactly what youâve been craving for so, so long
You shamelessly moan into his mouth, barely able to keep up with his fast pace from how much your head is spinning yet with every single kiss you feel your body getting hotter.
âThatâs my good girl. Now, if you keep doing so well for me, Iâm gonna give you my cock, too. You want that, donât you?â, Kyoutani nods along with you, his soft lips pouting slightly as he takes a step back and looks at you.
The two of you switch places, whereas you struggle to stay still from how bad your legs are already shaking as you take off your ruined panties, but as soon as Kentarou places his head on your soft pillow, you crawl back onto the bed, loving the way his hand never once stops touching any part of your body.
After taking another breath of courage, you sit yourself up and finally spread your legs over his perfect face, feeling a wave of embarrassment wash over you once you realise just how wet you are.
âLook at this perfect cuntâ, but with just a few words, Kyoutani wipes away all your doubts.
"Fuck", you whimper as soon as Kentaâs hot breath meets your hot flesh, his face so incredibly close to your cunt, it you simply canât help but whimper.
âLook at my sweet, sweet girl", he whispers and slowly collects your arousal ok his pretty fingers before he pushes them into his mouth with his powerful gaze focused on your face, âmhm..just as sweet as I thought", he adds with a little smile.
Your fingers instantly wrap around the headboard of your bed the second his digits find your sensitive clit. Kyoutani doesn't even give you the time to get used to the feeling of his fingers against your flesh as he licks a long stripe over your drenched pussy. You throw your head back almost brutally, your hips moving against his skilled tongue the second he starts thrusting the muscle inside of your sensitive hole.
Kyoutani eats you out like a man starved, loud slurping noises, deep grunts and heavy moans as well as your high pitched whines and the pathetic attempts of saying his name being the only noises to fill the silence of your room.
Your hips seem to have a life of their own as they grind against his mouth in hopes of reaching your oh so desperately needed high. You feel yourself getting closer and closer, your orgasm so close you can literally taste it on the tip of your tongue and when your boyfriend decides to insert two of his strong fingers, you know you're going to stumble over the edge head first.
Your cunt starts spasming around his digits every time Kenta grunts against you. As your moans get louder, your whimpers a lot needier and the grip on the headboard tighter, you slap a hand of yours over your mouth to muffle your noises.
You look down between your legs, his beautiful eyes focused on you and just as your lids are about to flutter shut, Kyoutani lifts your hips away from his mouth, leaving you high and dry just like that.
A loud whimper leaves your lips, your heart thrumming in your throat with your cunt clenching around nothing, the sudden ache in combination with the frustration literally sending tears into your eyes.
You press your thighs together with quiet sobs, "w-why?", you ask him with your voice dripping in arousal and just as you're about to bury your face in your arm to silence yourself, Kenta grabs your waist again, and pulls you onto his naked lap, his hard erection laying flat against his toned stomach; precum already staining the tanned skin of his stomach.
âI'm sorry, Baby", Kyoutani says and caresses your sides softly, "I need to be inside of you, pretty girl", he whispers and gently moves your hips to rub your cunt against his sensitive tip.
As soon as you feel his pulsing cock against your sensitive flesh, you bury your face in his neck and try your best to muffle your high pitched moans.
Itâs then that Kyoutani sits up with you in his arms before he takes your face into his big hands and finally pulls you into a needy kiss before he places a soft one on your forehead and then pushes you on the other side of your bed.
âGotta make sure you stay quiet, Babyâ, he whispers right into your ear and moving his hips in between your spread legs and gently slapping his cock against your cunt. You can tell how much heâs holding himself back from the thin layer of sweat covering his skin and his strong grip on your waist.
Your brain is so clouded by your arousal, you barely register his words, only remembering that he had said something when he suddenly pulls away and comes to sit on his knees with his pretty fingers firmly wrapped around his cock.
âYouâre â bigâ, you whisper and stare up at him, subconsciously pushing your shirt up and groping your tits as the arousal completely overwhelms you. With anybody else, you would have never done something so lewd and brave but with Kentarou, everything just feels natural.
âI know, Babyâ, he responds and teases your sopping wet hole with his leaking tip, looking up at you with flushed cheeks and needy eyes, âI havenât been with anybody in months, I promise. Please tell me youâre on the pill.â
âYes, yes, I am â please just fuck me alreadyâ, your words are basically slurred and rushed, not an ounce of composure left as you look at him.
Kyoutani is quick to spit on your drenched cunt, his hot saliva slowly dripping down your folds before he aligns himself up with your clenching hole, yet only pushes the tip in.
âKentaâ, you start whining way too loud, not even realising and caring even less, just wanting to feel what youâve been dreaming about for literal years.
Kyoutani however just takes a deep breath, obviously trying his very best to calm himself down and not just ram the whole of his length inside of you because he knows how careful he has to be.
It doesnât take him too long to regain his composure and place his big hand over your mouth after bending down to be as close to your face as possible.
âLook at, princessâ, he whispers and gives you another forehead kiss, slowly pushing his cock a tad bit deeper inside of you and without even realising, your eyes roll into the back of your head, âcome on, Baby, look at your boy, hm? Be good for me, look in my eyes when you take my cock.â
How could you ever deny him a request as sweet as this one?
Without missing another beat, your gaze meets his and just when youâre about to whimper from how soft the moment feels, Kyoutani thrusts his hips in just the right way, pushing almost his whole length into your sensitive cunt.
No matter how good youâve made yourself feel before this, nothing comes even close to the feeling of his tip grazing your sensitive walls, leaving a trail of precum inside of you and pushing you closer to the edge every time he twitches in response to your bodyâs reactions.
A row of muffled moans and grunts fills the silence in your room and you both try to take in the overwhelming feeling of being as close as never before, something you would have never imagined to become reality, which is probably why you feel yourself growing slightly lightheaded.
âGood girlâ, Kyoutani growls softly, bottoming out inside of you and letting out a guttural moan at the feeling of his tip grazing the entrance to your womb.
"Fuck, you're so fucking tight", he hisses through gritted teeth, giving you the time to adjust to his impressive size, your breaths hitching in your throat because of the amount of pleasure rushing through your veins.
âThatâs my good little slut, youâre taking my cock so well, Baby. Iâm so proud of youâ, Kyoutani mumbles against your cheeks before he starts slowly moving his hips.
âMore, Kenta, I want â ngh, fuck â need more", you whine and scratch your nails over the skin of his broad back when his movements start picking up pace.
His long and sensually slow strokes against the sensitive walls of your cunt give you a hard time focusing on anything else but him and his cock.
Kyou hums in satisfaction at your words, his thrusts even deeper than just a second prior and the way he pulls all the way out only to thrust into you with full force leaves you dizzy.
Your mouth falls open as his harsh pounding elicits loud (yet still muffled) whimpers from you with every single thrust and at this point, youâre way too far gone to realise how loud youâre being.
Kyou fucks you just how you needed it: edging you multiple times as he brings you close to your orgasm, only to pull away when you're about to let go.
Your cunt firmly clenched around his thick cock like a god damn vice, your whole body on fire with sweat dripping down your temples and your own drool coating your chin because of your inability to close your mouth.
"P-Please, Kenta", you whimper with a tiny voice the second he lifts his hand from your mouth, the taste of your orgasm coating your tongue because of how close you are.
âYou've been so good for me, Baby, so fucking good. Cum for me, show me how good I can make you feel", he orders and with the words leaving his beautiful lips, you finally stumble over the edge head first.
Waves of pleasure overwhelm your whole body, your sight turning blurry for a solid second as the intensity of your orgasm has you choking on your own breath.
You feel Kyouâs hungry gazes on you as he helps you ride out your orgasm. You take a deep breath after finally calming down again, your fingers finding his cheek before you look him in the eyes. A choked out moan leaves his lips before he buries his face in the crook of your neck, his hips stuttering as you apply pressure,
"Fuck, Iâm cumming", Kyoutani whispers, his voice is strained because of his heavy breathing and you can tell by his sloppy thrusts and soft whines he's about to reach his high.
âDo it, Kenta, need you to fill me up", you whisper into his open mouth, your lips connecting as you start swallowing his beautiful noises and with one last thrust, Kyouâs whole body tenses up before he cums inside of you, painting your cunt in the prettiest shades of white with the thick spurts.
Kyoutani throws his head back with a sharp inhale once heâs pulled out before his gaze shifts back between your legs and attentively observes the way his orgasm dribbles out of your tight cunt with his eyes gleaming in excitement.
You have absolutely no idea when or how you fall asleep, convinced Kyoutani has fucked you into the deepest sleep youâve ever experienced. What you do know is the fact that Kyoutani was calmly sleeping next to you, just to wake up to him being long gone.
You try not to worry too much about it, knowing how busy he is at the moment and calming yourself down with a shower and some fresh clothes.
âGood morning, Maâamâ, you say and wave at the girls before you turn to their mother, smiling gently at her as you hope she slept through everything that had happened last night.
âGood morning, sweetnessâ, she smiles back and hands you a cup of coffee, âTaniâs left already. He told me heâs going to stay at Yuujiâs tonight so we wonât have to wait for him, I thought Iâd let you know.â
And as she continues with her breakfast, you feel your heart sink into your stomach in the worst way possible when you manage to process her words.
Bakugou has to pick you up from outside the club after your smart mouth gets you in trouble with the bouncer on a girls night, and you have the audacity to look up at him after he dips down for a sweet kiss, telling you itâs time to head home and you say:
âMake me.â
His expression goes blank for a second, watching you plant your feet and cross your arms, clearly still riled up from your altercation and just raises an eyebrow.
âWanna run that by me again, beautiful?â He invites, his face neutral but his tone letting out a warning beneath the sweet words. The look in his eyes sends a shiver down your spine, but you stand your ground.
âI said: âmake. Me.ââ You snip back, and he sighs, turning to the security guard whoâs clearly trying not to pay attention to the conversation (and failing).
âYou heard her say that, right?â He questions, and the guard shuffles in surprise for a moment before nodding, crossing his arms.
âYes, sir, Dynamight,â he agrees quietly and Bakugou nods thoughtfully as he turns to you.
âYeah I was afraid I heard that right,â he sighs, suddenly squatting down to wrap his large arms around your calves and stand, hoisting you over his shoulder as you shriek in surprise.
âKatsuki Bakugou! Put me the fuck down!â You protest, fingers digging into his black tshirt to keep yourself steady.
He shrugs, the movement jostling your whole body as he speaks. âYou told me to make you, so Iâm obliging,â
You sigh, resigning yourself to relaxing against him, his gait smooth despite the extra weight as he carries you to his car, waving a thanks to the security guard as he passes.
You glance down at the ground, and canât help but embarrass him a little bit more, fingers sliding down to grab a handful of his ass, squeezing slightly.
He jumps and growls out something under his breath and you laugh, releasing him. âAnyone ever told you youâve got a really nice ass?â You tease, sitting up slightly to try and look at him.
You yelp in surprise when he lifts the skirt of your dress with one large hand and turns his head to sink his teeth into the fat of your ass before releasing it and giving the same spot a harsh smack, smoothing over the skin as your face heats and you try not to rub your thighs together. From somewhere nearby thereâs a flash, and your certain some paparazzi somewhere just got the best shot of the week. You can see the headlines now.
His voice is low next time he speaks, drawing your attention back to him and sending warmth throughout your body. âYeah, some could say the same for you, brat.â
