Like, I've been reading some comics about Rouxls Kaard x King Spade and that makes me realize...

I know how abusive as a parent the king is, but what if the only thing he wanted is someone to talk? Like, Asgore knows where the hell the queen is, and we know by all the citizens in deltarune how the king changed.

But what if the only thing he asked for and he needed the most was just some help, someone to advice him? Someone he can trust?

Just saying,I don't defend his terrible behaviours but maybe he DID was kind on his youthful times...

Also, they make a cute couple on their young versions ggg

This!!! Such!!! Ah, yes!! I knew i wasn't the only one who loved the change! King wasn't, in default, an asshole. Keep in mind he has been corrupted and became a victim of manipulation from the glorious knight that he praises over and over.

Of course this does not excuse his actions, but the thought of the king once acting kindly is a high chance. While yes, we see him abuse Lancer at the ending, we also hear Lancer talking about him doing things that a normal,caring, father would.

The fact that Lancer even hesitates to swear is because he was told to take a shower every time he does; not because he's been abused for misbehaving. He does not discipline him in a painful way, he does it in a harmless way.

The fact that the king even bothers to send some of his soldiers to protect him while he goes and plays also says much

The fact that Lancer carelessly calls him "Dad". Spades does not scold him and force him to call him a more respectful name like "Father" instead, Spades allows it and doesn't even mind, as if Lancer does it regularly.

The fact that Lancer even mentions the title "son of the month" is just.. cute... entirely cute.. like.. why would you say that unless you picked it up from someone... omg Lancer u adorable babo..

Spades once being a kind ruler is possible for me, and I believe that the rules he sets up for Lancer lets his old self shine through a little.

I personally adore that the king cooks for his son. Not some servant, but the king himself. Rouxls says, however, that sometimes he forgets to do it, but by the way he puts it, it seems that normally king does the cooking on a regular basis.

Invisible Abuse: ABA and the things only autistic people can see

One of the most hotly-contended points of division between the adult autistic community and the neurotypical parents of autistic children: explained.

As we enter Autism Acceptance month, I’m going to sincerely ask you to please, please read this article. Even if you’re not autistic and don’t know anyone who is, someday you might have autistic child, or know someone who does, and you need to hear the truth of ABA therapy from actual autistics.

I’m incredibly fortunate to be a self-diagnosed adult who never had to face ABA therapy, because just watching the videos in this article and reading the guidelines has me in actual tears and sick with rage. Maybe you can’t see it if you’re not autistic, but they treat these children in a way I would never even treat a dog. They treat them like things, like inconvenient problems to be solved, not human beings.

Why do they do that? Because the founder of ABA therapy said, “One way to look at the job of helping autistic kids is you have to construct a person. You have the raw materials but you have to build the person.“

ABA therapy is founded on the belief that autistics are not human beings. That our needs and our feelings don’t matter, the only thing that matters is forcing us into the shape of a “real” person, no matter what kind of damage or trauma it causes. 

Please understand that autistic people behave the way we do for a reason. Because we’re overwhelmed, or upset, or in pain, or tired, or confused. Forcing the behavior to change doesn’t change the feelings, it just teaches a child that their feelings don’t matter and they have to suppress them in order to be good. Please value an autistic person’s needs over the appearance of normalcy. Please treat autistic children like human beings.

Oh, and if you needed any more incentive? The founder of ABA, O. Ivar Lovaas, was also instrumental in creating gay conversion therapy.

ABA therapy indeed might be abusive and often is. As an ABA therapist I've had to deal with children who were traumatized by their previous teachers that treated them exactly as you described: not as humans but as a material. Being an autistic person, maybe you could recommend a therapy that is not harmful and still effective?
