Aprilwetter

I’m tired of breathing.
But it is the only way to feel alive.
exam prep pt. 1
Start early. it may seem like it is waaayy to early to start. but here’s the thing: it is never too late to start studying for an exam, so start early and start now
Make a revision guide. List all the crucial things you absolutely have to revise for. If your teacher gives you a guide, ditch it. You know more than anyone what you need to work on.
Focus on what you don’t know. I know its more comfortable doing things you already know, it gives you a nice ego boost, but the other things won’t learn themselves. i repeat: focus on what you DON’T know.
Which means study by priority. Study what you need the most help on. Do not go in order. You will run out of time to study things you actually need help on. So please don’t.
Mindmaps. These are good for subjects like history and the sciences. It is much easier to see all your notes on one page. So do yourself a favor and convert your notes into mindmaps.
Flashcards. After mindmaps comes flashcards. How I study is by first taking notes, then making a mindmap, and then putting the information into flashcards (I might make a post ;)). They don’t always work for essay based subjects so beware. But remember: flashcards only work if you frequently review them.
Past papers. These are your friends. Seriously. If you do past papers, they will help a LOT. This gives you an idea of how the real exam will be. They will mostly come in the same format, so it will help you be familiar with the layout of the papers.
Specifications. Don’t just get all your info from study guides. Most of the time they leave out some information. See what exam board you’re doing and find the spec. Try to use that as a checklist.
Ask for help. Your teachers are there to help. If you’re struggling, ask for help. See if there are extra classes. Check if your teacher can tutor you if they have time (my teacher did). Seriously. Ask. Its for your benefit.
Avoid burnout. Don’t just focus on one topic/subject. Switch it up to avoid burnout and remember to take breaks. You can’t put all the information in your brain in one go. Take care of yourself.
You can do this. I believe in you, you can do anything if you put your mind to it. just remember to breathe and take care of your health. It’s more important than anything. Trust me, you can do this :)
tips for how to live a kind life
1) don’t say mean things about people, behind their backs or to their face. it’s not cool to be inconsiderate of others’ feelings. ignore people who want you to participate in talking badly about others, even if you are not fond of that person.
2) speak gently with a full heart.
3) be perceptive of others’ trauma, daily struggles, disabilities, and insecurities.
4) treat animals with tender respect.
5) don’t act out irrationaly towards the people you love. before you lash out, think about the consequences towards their feelings that would follow.
6) always remember that the positive energy you put out will come back to you.
The Study Buddies Project
The Basics:
How does it work?
You simply fill out this form, I get the information and pair you with a studyblr I thin you’d get along with based on what you’ve told me. Then, you get a message from me letting you know who your buddy is.
Why?
Sometimes it’s hard to talk to people. This way, not only is your buddy expecting you but you also know they want to talk to you and become friends. I hope to build lasting relationships where fellow studyblrs can help, advise, support and encourage each other.
How are buddies assigned? What if I don’t get along with my buddy?
I look at hobbies, interests, likes and dislikes, field of study and age as well as the “What You Want” section and find compatible matches. If you guys don’t click though, you can always apply again to get a new buddy.
Is this only for studyblrs?
No, this is aimed at studyblrs but even if you’re not one you can apply. Please note that there is an option for studyblrs to choose to only be paired with studyblrs. This is because I know some study blogs only follow other studyblogs, etc.
Sounds good! how do I join?
Easy! Just reblog this post and complete the form here and I’ll contact you once the pairing has been done.
*PLEASE NOTE: The pairing process will begin on Monday the 19th of February and will be ongoing from then on

Danke für deine lieben Worte! Es ist so leicht den Blick für das Wesentliche zu verlieren. Du hast mich heute morgen zum Lächeln gebracht.
Das freut mich. Wann auch immer du reden möchtest. Ich bin für dich da.
30.11.17 Yo this is beer. Because this day was a mess and I wanted something tasty in the evening. Judge me. Also I only studied like 2h and had only 2h lecture today. Well well. Also I was one hour early for this week’s therapy session and had to wait some time in the cold. This isn’t my week, or year, or whatever. First exam is in one week. The numbers of panic attacks are increasing exponentially. It’s so hard finding sleep.
I hope your life is better than mine right now. Have a great evening ❤
You will get through this. Don't give up! There are people out there who care about you, who love you. So stay you, stay beautiful. Everyday is a great day. Just believe in it.
How to Handle Having TOO MUCH To Do
So let’s say you’re in the same boat I am (this is a running theme, have you noticed?) and you’ve just got, like, SO MUCH STUFF that HAS to get done YESTERDAY or you will DIE (or fail/get fired/mope). Everything needs to be done yesterday, you’re sick, and for whatever reason you are focusing on the least important stuff first. What to do!
Take a deep breath, because this is a boot camp in prioritization.
Make a 3 by 4 grid. Make it pretty big. The line above your top row goes like this: Due YESTERDAY - due TOMORROW - due LATER. Along the side, write: Takes 5 min - Takes 30 min - Takes hours - Takes DAYS.
Divide ALL your tasks into one of these squares, based on how much work you still have to do. A thank you note for a present you received two weeks ago? That takes 5 minutes and was due YESTERDAY. Put it in that square. A five page paper that’s due tomorrow? That takes an hour/hours, place it appropriately. Tomorrow’s speech you just need to rehearse? Half an hour, due TOMORROW. Do the same for ALL of your tasks
Your priority goes like this:
5 minutes due YESTERDAY
5 minutes due TOMORROW
Half-hour due YESTERDAY
Half-hour due TOMORROW
Hours due YESTERDAY
Hours due TOMORROW
5 minutes due LATER
Half-hour due LATER
Hours due LATER
DAYS due YESTERDAY
DAYS due TOMORROW
DAYS due LATER
At this point you just go down the list in each section. If something feels especially urgent, for whatever reason - a certain professor is hounding you, you’re especially worried about that speech, whatever - you can bump that up to the top of the entire list. However, going through the list like this is what I find most efficient.
Some people do like to save the 5 minute tasks for kind of a break between longer-running tasks. If that’s what you want to try, go for it! You’re the one studying here.
So that’s how to prioritize. Now, how to actually do shit? That’s where the 20/10 method comes in. It’s simple: do stuff like a stuff-doing FIEND for 20 minutes, then take a ten minute break and do whatever you want. Repeat ad infinitum. It’s how I’ve gotten through my to do list, concussed and everything.
You’ve got this. Get a drink and start - we can do our stuff together!
WOAH THIS SOUNDS HELPFUL. I’M GOING TO TRY THIS IMMEDIATELY. Also, I made a chart for myself, but if anyone else wants it for reference (or if this is wrong and I misread you can tell me) here it is:
