He’s just going to stand there as Klaus walked off, passing a glance down to his mareep then back up, hoping somehow the other trainer would just keep walking and not notice he didn’t follow.
Unfortunately for Yahui, he did notice the other wasn’t following. “What’re you doing all the way back there? Come on!”
leisureincipient:
“How about you stay right here and I leave you right here all by yourself.” He knew this was going to happen and he was not about to deal with it. Just when his ‘friend’ was getting to be tolerable.
“Don’t be like that. Who would say no to free food? Follow me, little one!” He marched off towards town. He idly wondered if he could get the waiters and waitresses to sing to his friend.
leisureincipient:
“Remind me to catch that pidgey later then. And thank you… I think?”
“Sure, sure, good luck on that. Anyway, you can thank me later. We should do something to celebrate baby’s first birthday.”
“A little Pidgey told me it’s your birthday. Congratulations, you’re one year old! Or should I say, older.”
(should have made this post ages ago, but due to personal reasons, I haven’t been active on this blog. I’ll probably be more active after Sun&Moon)

“The questions: Do you like playing pranks? Do you find them amusing? If someone were to play one on you, how would you feel?
“I’ve never really been good at playing pranks on anyone, myself, but I enjoy a good prank if it isn’t at the expense of myself. Pranks are all in good fun until they hurt someone and then it isn’t funny anymore. If I can be spared from anything humiliating, I guess I could handle a prank played on me.”

‘Send me a food emoji for my muse to answer some questions’
“Let’s see, the questions are: Are some holidays overly mainstream? Which ones feel pointless and over-exaggerated?
“Easy! No holidays are overly mainstream. Honestly, though, you’re asking someone who would easily celebrate a holiday too early if you gave me a chance to.
As for over-exaggerated and pointless? None! I’m sure holidays are holidays for a reason, but I’m not particularly fond of Valentines Day and White Day. It’s that I never got anything or gave anything out, it’s just- Why wouldn’t you celebrate your love every day?”
It took him a moment to realize the irony of what he’d said and fretted slightly when he finally did. “O-oh I didn’t mean to be disrespectful or anythin’ like that- I.. I swear I was just confirmin’ I hadn’t seen any sorta case..” At least he was a good sport about it though.
He couldn’t just leave this guy. Contacts seemed kind of important.. probably expensive too? He wasn’t sure, he’s never needed them before. He gave a little sigh, looking over his shoulder a moment. It was hard to gauge how long he would have, but that was depending on how fast the cops would arrive too.. Well, maybe if he found it quickly. “I ah.. I may have a moment I think. Do ya know ‘bout where you dropped it at? Like.. when you noticed it was missing?”
“Don’t worry, I know what you meant- I was just teasing you,” he replied, rocking back on his heels, getting ready to walk around in search of his beloved belonging. He felt a tiny bit of amusement spark at the sight of the fretting, but being mean to someone who was willingly going to help him look for his case wasn’t smart, so he decided to keep further comments to himself.
“Let’s see, I think it was over there?” He jerked his thumb behind him, towards a mass of grass and bushes. “I was there when I realized it was gone, but I’ve been walking for awhile, so my case could also be over there-” he pointed over to a cluster of rocks further up the route. “The case is blue, so I figured I should have seen it by now, but nope.”
Maybe if he stopped reacting to this new nickname he was given Klaus would drop it sooner or later. Though his companion did make a good note on how having more than one pokemon would have helped. Then again pokemon were still pretty scarce in their home region. “Probably couldn’t afford more than one for each of us I’m guessing. He has to know there would be a chance we could run off with these pokemon, right? And battling shouldn’t be that hard. Spent plenty of my childhood watching those guys stand in a circle and fight all day.” There was a small shrug, stuffing his hands into his pockets on his jacket, listening to Klaus go on. The guy just answered his own question about giving them more than one pokemon each it seemed. If he would even pick up on that. He couldn’t help but question his ‘rival’s’ intelligence somewhat. Not that he thought he was stupid per say just… questionable.
His own pokemon trotted along close ho her trainer only to occasionally get distracted by different things they passed, causing Yahui to have to glance over to her now and then to make sure she was still at his side. Seems she was far more interested in the new region than her trainer.
“Keep in mind that professor could be keeping something over our parent’s heads with us doing this. Krane may be a ‘good person’ but who knows. I’d rather not trouble either of my parents.” Unless it entirely ended up being worth it for what they got in return for the research.
“Well, you certainly have a point there, I guess. Krane didn’t seem like the shady sort. Maybe sheltered, with his big fancy white building and expensive tech, but not shady.” Even as he said that, the circumstances on their departure were not entirely clear to him. His parents had said very little about how they were able to manage the whole deal.
“No matter how you look at it, we benefit just as much in the long run. He said fill the pokedex, but he said nothing about giving him the Pokemon we find and catch. As long as we’re on this journey, we keep any money we get- granted we don’t lose battles- and our Pokemon get stronger. No matter what trouble our parents get into, we could feasibly help them out.”
He waved a dismissive hand into the air after his pondering, “But enough about that stuff. It’s kind of distressing to think about, no? What’s say we find this professor and then get a room in the Pokemon Center later? I know that the next town isn’t even that far, so unless this old man keeps us for a couple hours, we could get there before nightfall. After that, find us some cheap food place and indulge ourselves.”
The thought of a nice greasy burger made his stomach grumble out in hunger. That, a side of fries, and a nice colorful milkshake. He knew he’d have to ration out his savings, but he had a good bit, and he knew it wouldn’t be long before they got into some sort of trouble (aka; petty pick pocketing).
He wasn’t comfortable in crowds, too many people, too many voices. He’d like to get out of it as soon as possible. He wondered if Olivine City was always like this or if he’d just shown up at a bad time. Wes was already on edge, the sudden force against his shoulder only managed to push him over the edge.
“Watch it!” If not for the crowd he might’ve punched whoever bumped into him then and there. Wes, please learn how to better deal with situations.
“I said sorry! I assure you that’s more than you’d get from any other one of these people,” Klaus snapped back, but there was no venom in his tone, and there was a friendly smile in the place of where a frown should be. He didn’t exactly feel bad about bumping into him, considering all the tourists around (heading to the lighthouse, maybe?) were just as careless.

Boredom left a sour taste in Klaus’ mouth every single time it occurred to him. It was thick and if he didn’t find something to do soon, he had an inkling he’d do something reckless that would get him into trouble, which wasn’t something he needed right now.
Hauling himself up from a bench he’d been lounging on, he whistled to his Larvitar and began walking towards a crowd of people. The thicker the crowd got, the more closed in it became, and soon he couldn’t avoiding bumping into people. Thus, when his shoulder crudely rammed into someone else’s, he couldn’t help but stop, turning towards them and offering a quick, “Oh, sorry!”

His lips turned downward into a frown. Maybe he should just go back to keeping his mouth shut while his rival made a fool of himself. Maybe if he ignored him for the most part he wouldn’t keep saying weird things. “Yahui…. Not Yahoo.” If Klaus wanted to ask around for where they needed to go then he’d let him. if he could avoid talking to strangers then he’d let the other do whatever he wanted. Not that he was against it, it just unsettled him slightly. Though every other thought left him when his rival brought up rugged men. That was… Oddly specific… and somewhat unsettling sounding. Yeah best not to question that and just leave the guy to talk to himself.
He was hoping to enjoy some brief silence on their walk to the lab before Klaus was back to asking him questions he should probably answer. Ignoring him fully honestly wouldn’t do any good. “Krane informed us the professor for this region could update our PokeDexs and perhaps provide us some more info on the region. Hopefully we can at least talk him into giving us a map and the easiest ways to collect the info we need.” Yeah he was just going to ignore the whole part about them being secret agents or whatever. If his rival wanted to play that game he was more than welcome to. He just wouldn’t be joining in his antics. Hopefully this over excitement over the new region would mellow out a little bit but from what he remembered of Klaus that wouldn’t be the case. The fact that this guy was even a criminal was surprising to say the least.
“Right, right, Yahui. Not Yahoo. Got it. Though- Yahoo ain’t that bad of a nickname if I do say so myself.”
Klaus intended to make the most of this journey and adventure. Nothing would stop him. He was in a new region, which meant seeing more beautifully rugged men than there was in Orre. Honestly, after living there for a couple years, you tended to recognize most, if not every, person who stayed there as well.
“If Krane thinks two teens who have been confined to one region for most of their lives was his best bet, then shouldn’t he have, I don’t know, given us more than one Pokemon to start out with? And maybe a run down of how battling works in that fancy tech lab of his?”
He paused as he thoughtlessly talked, kicking rocks in his path. “Also, if it were me, I probably would have had an actual assistant go with the kids I picked out, because like- No offense, but were not the most trustworthy people. What would stop us from just taking anything related to his research? I don’t see any benefit from it now, but what if down the road we do?”
He looked to where Waldo seemed to be waddling slower than he had been; now they were matched in pace and side by side. It almost warmed his heart. They were becoming friends so quickly.
“Now you’re just putting words into my mouth.”
He had fully planned on just relaxing, even taking a nap if Klaus honestly wanted to hang around longer and play in the grass. His Mareep honestly seemed happy enough sniffing around and eating the occasional tuft of grass it decided was good enough to snack on. At least it was until it seemed his rival was following after his own pokemon who seemed to be wandering off. “And from what I remember he wasn’t actually that old. I don’t think Krane actually gave us a picture to bring with us. He had glasses I think? Though I’m sure if we just look around for a lab we’ll find it. Or you know use the map he gave us. Or did you already lose yours?” The whole referring to Krane as an anime character just sort of went over his head. He didn’t watch too many cartoons when he got older and hadn’t watched any the past few years that he could remember. What were those people called who liked school girls and robots? Otaku or something? As long as Klaus kept that to himself he’d let the guy have his hobbies. It took a few minutes but afterwards he was following alongside the other, his pokemon right at his heels, not wanting to be left behind. Not that he would let that happen. Neither of them had been with their pokemon long but Yahui had already grown pretty fond of the sheep.
“Better than putting a sock into it,” he snapped his fingers into ‘finger guns’, winking at Yahui. With the awful joke made, he twirled around on his feet and continued to follow his adventurous little starter, idly wondering where he was being lead to. Considering the danger in the wild grass, he wasn’t sure if he was comfortable with Waldo wandering ahead like he was.
“Come on, Yahoo, we gotta get going. Since you wanted to so badly, right?” He placed his arms behind his head, all too casual for someone who had crouched down to investigate a leaf not even five minutes prior to him being a little shit. He even added a whistle as he wandered off, as if to seal the deal better. He could practically hear his mother all the way in Orre, ranting about how this wasn’t how you made friends.
“What a great description. ‘Not that old and had glasses’. I don’t think it’d get us any tourist points if we stopped every person who fit that criteria, so I guess I’ll just ask the first person we see where we’re supposed to be going. Think we’ll see any rugged men?” He asked.
Not that he expected to get an answer. Yahui seemed like the closed-off kind of guy. Which wasn’t too bad, considering he himself liked a bit of distance, too. It didn’t seem like they were getting off to a particularly good start, though. He’d just have to try harder, but later.
“Wait, why did we have to see this professor anyway? Shouldn’t we just collect stuff for the pokedex or did we have to get debriefed for our ‘mission’ like we’re agents in a cheap action film?”
Ceph and I may have gone over our heads and I dragged us into this hell. I’m scared. Someone stop Klaus and their rugged men fetish….
