marigold moment
just saw someone post a scp-themed part profile and figured i'd share one we made a while back loosely based on some of the author pages.. I don't have the copy paste anymore unfortunately but the redaction character is in comments and graphic credit is @/wake-breaker [deactivated]

Aside from my usual posts we have something I've been working on for a while since hyperfixating on databases around 3 or so weeks ago. I present, a DID tool in notion:
Keep track of your members and even sort them however you want, alphabetically, manually, by trait etc. And group them by Subgroups
Keep track of your front by clicking on the members and using buttons to add to front and even finish front (optional) if you don't click on the second front to finish, it will just show you what day (+time) you started fronting, no pressure to keep track.
Keep track of as many Subsystems/Sidesystems or just groups as you like add as many Members as notion can hold and make a list of all the roles you have (you can even subgroup the roles so you can see which ones are versions of protectors etc.)
And lastly, keep track of who lives where in the Innerworld and map it out.
You can change any of these features after dublicating, but I'd like it if you liked and/or reposted this post if you use it so more people could find it!

SysChat Config Template + Info
Hi! I am a big fan of SysChat (codeberg linked to download if interested)
But I am also someone who knows NOTHING of code and found the provided info hard to understand (no hate to the creator! they were lovely and helpful when I was confused. just means I am inspired to create a little more accessibility for the app!)
So I made a configuration template for folks who may struggle with coding things or understanding the help/info provided in the download. It has roughly 50 blank spots AND single, double, triple, and quadruple extra blocks to paste in if you're polyfrag OR just have a high sys count!
I also provided a screenshot of what the edited config should look like + a video on what SysChat looks like when active!
You can find the template + help doc: here !!
okayy little post about how to use obsidian
here is a link to the website and a link to the official help guide. if you want more help there is some yapping below
what even is obsidian?
it's sort of like a markdown file viewer. the files themselves live in your system and are stored locally, obsidian is sort of like a gui to view and edit them
this is what my files look like on macos. obsidian has its own folder where my vaults live (a vault is just where your notes go), and those vaults have my notes as .md files. .md files are just markdown
this means that if obsidian theoretically stopped working or went down, you would still have all of your files in markdown! you could easily edit them with any other markdown editor (including any native apps your device has)
does it sync information?
it doesn't automatically sync information, no. BUT there's a few ways you can get it to sync. here is a guide from the website itself. how i sync it is by storing my vaults in my icloud drive, so they're accessible from any device of mine that uses icloud. you could also use things like google drive or onedrive. obsidian has its own sync, although it's not free. there are a few other methods that i frankly don't know much about
do note that obsidian finds your files based on their full path (e.g. what folders they're in), so if you move your vault around, you'll have to help obsidian find it again.
i want it to do more
that's great, because obsidian has a shit ton of settings and community-made plug-ins to customize it and make it do more! you can do things like create css snippets (files that tell obsidian how to style itself), download plug-ins (which change how obsidian works), and probably more that i don't know. the files themselves will be unchanged, this just changes how obsidian renders them.
how can i use it to track my system?
if you want to figure out how to use obsidian itself, there is a big-ass guide here. there are a lot of things you can use to help further organize your information, like properties (things you can add to files, like Simply Plural's custom fields) and bases (a way to view files and their properties -- if you've used notion, these might feel a little familiar). it also has templates so you could use those to more easily create files for members.
i also made an example vault here. to view it in obsidian, download it, open the zip file as a folder, select open folder as vault, and select the folder you just downloaded. it uses no community plug-ins or any other extra stuff
Edit: we use the Notebook Navigator plug-in extensively and personally recommend it if you don't really like the way the built-in file explorer works
HEY!! ARE YOU A SYSTEM WHO'S FREAKING OUT ABOUT THE SIMPLY PLURAL AND OCTOCON SHUT DOWN?
I switched all my system tracking over to a spreadsheet! And I turned that spreadsheet into a template! SO YOU CAN USE IT TOO!!
I have some pictures of how I use it! And all you have to do is just make a copy and fill it out.
If anyone has any ideas for other columns I should add, please tell me! I'd love to help in any way I can.
Yes, this may be a spreadsheet that you only share with close friends. But it's better than nothing, I think.

For anyone looking to use notion definitely go check this out!!
Hello darlings! I know that, due to the discontinuation of simply plural, a lot of people are worried about where to go to document their alters.
Might I offer you Notion! Notion is a very versatile note-taking tool. It can be used on both mobile and pc (although it's easier to use it on pc). Here are some examples of what our notion profiles look like right now!
We're still figuring out a proper way to log switches and stuff but for now it's a good way to document alters. Not only that, but pages can be published as websites and can be shared with family and friends!
