Tracer’s emote-dance featuring Zenyatta 😂 Can’t wait to do this again when everything’s actually finished and I'm not terrified of everything breaking.
A Smol-Might. I have 99 things to do for youmacon but stylin this wig won't be one that takes too long.
Tracer progress. It's pretty slow going at this stage because getting things from 2D to 3D is the bane of my existence, but progress is being made!

I just. I have a lot of feeling about my friends and how cool they are. Would you believe this was her first time working with foam or making armor?? Because I still can’t and I’ve been looking at this for hours.
For more from this shoot and BtS, check out Instagram, Facebook, and Flickr!
Did a costest for Soul a while back with @phreckles. Which was really more of a wig test since nothing else is done yet.
(Actually it was just a huge excuse to take cute pictures with the cutest Maka (✿╹◡╹) )
Tracer Update.
Lessons earned with dying fabric: Make PERMANENT AND EASILY VISIBLE marks when you have gradient points, otherwise you will dye the thing 4 times because you didn’t cover enough area the first 3 times when your marks washed off. Have a hanging set-up when dying polyester gradients because it takes a while for the dye to set and you’ve been skipping arm day for the last 22 years. Lessons learned with sewing: Paperclamps are great when you’re dealing with pleather, and WonderTape is just great in general. Notching is your friend. The order you sew stuff in is important. And DON’T GET SO EXCITED TRYING TO MAKE IT IT FITTED THAT YOU DON’T LEAVE ENOUGH ROOM FOR YOUR BOOBS. Lessons learned with weathering: When you’re wishing there was a sandpaper pencil, what you’re looking for is a rotary tool with the smallest grinding bit.
Me, a child: I’ve never sewn anything, let’s start with a full length pleather coat with a giant zipper that require drafting a pattern.
Me, an adult: I’ve never worked with foam before, but copious amounts of circles, bevels, and compound curves should be fine.

(As I procrastinate this Youma’s projects I realized I haven’t updated since LAST Youma whoOPS.)
Worbla sealing technique
I’ve been asked many times how I sealed the Worbla on my Wrathion costume for it to look this smooth. I don’t have progress pictures but I can explain since it’s pretty straightforward. This technique not only allows you to have a smooth surface, it gives you the chance to refine the shape and erase seams if, like me, you’re unable to form Worbla perfectly. Also, if you use a flexible paint and varnish on top, your piece will remain bendable without cracking.

Hopefully this makes sense ; u ; I learned this trick from my friend SWP, and it’s proved really useful for a lot of things~
Feel free to request any tutorials from me, I’ll do my best to help out (assuming I know how to do it AHAHA)

Can youuuu tell the difference between unpressed seams and pressed seams? 😘
- Jenn
Clip or notch your curves as well - it will help everything lie flatter even with pressing, since the fabric won’t be fighting itself. (see the way the white edge is rumpling up on the pressed side in the image above? Clipping the grey and notching the white along that curve would fix that.)
Oh, I know! T’is but a mock-up, and the “clip your curves” rant is somewhere in the post pipeline ;) Thanks though, it’s a good reminder.

I spiffed up this tutorial I made a while ago. And by spiffed up I mean I added the text to the pictures.
Look I finally made this tutorial tumblr compatible
