I can't be the only one who noticed that people often bring up the "Alastor is/would only manipulating x they would toxic therefore shipping them is wrong" only when he is being shipped with a woman
Like i see people saying how he only would get romantically involved or close to example Charlie for his own advantage and that she is too naive and nice to realize what's going on or wouldn't be able to defend herselves
Which is already totally wrong, we saw in the pilot that Charlie knows what kind of demon Alastor is and that she is not foolish enough to make a deal with him. Even in the show she only makes a deal with him because it was the only possibility she had
Like he is definitely manipulating her but to say that Charlie is clueless about it and can't defend herself is wrong. We saw multiple times that she is able to stand up for herself in the pilot with Katie killjoy and in the show with Adam, Valentino and her own father.
The other thing is noticed how they treat the who "manipulate Alastor" thing when he is shipped with a man, like then i hear people defending it with stuff like "Vox/Lucifer aren't stupid enough to fall for Alastor's tricks and even if they would be tricked they're powerful enough to defend themselves". I even heard people claiming it's ok if Alastor manipulates them because they are men and that they won't mind or it's ok
Like they act that characters like Charlie or Emily couldn't defend themselves against him. Charlie is still the princess of hell and the daughter of the devil and first sinner, Emily is a Seraphim like Lucifer,i am not exactly sure but she probably is more powerful than Alastor too
Emily also isn't just a naive and innocent thing who couldn't hurt a fly as if the moment she realized that Sera was Lying she went against her sister to support Charlie. She is definitely not defenseless either or a child
Like almost all female characters are able to defend themselves and are not just weak women who can't fight. Even Nifty is able to fight! Did people forget how she stabbed multiple angels and Adam or what she did to Valentino? She probably would be into everything Alastor could do to her anyway...
Honestly the way people act like they have to save fictional female characters from being shipped with an evil male shows that many still have that mindset that women can't defend themselves. This fandom really seems to have white knight complex
This is also why I hate the whole "Lucifer Takes Charlie's place in her deal with Alastor". They act like Charlie isn't able to keep her end of the deal,so that her father has to do it. Like they make a man saving her, taking away an interesting plot point of her character and future relationship with Alastor and often then make RA end up because it's toxic and bad with Charlie but fine with Lucifer
