Yuzu seedlings May 2-today!!
Man I was writing out a whole timeline of these seeds and my fuckups but the moral of the story is plants are TOUGH when they want to be. I was given a yuzu fruit, forgot it in the back of my fridge for multiple months, forgot the seeds in the germinating bag and they got slimy and moldy, and yet every single one sprouted. I currently have twelve germinated seeds and NINETEEN SEEDLINGS (and counting) because it turns out the citrus genetic chaos makes polembryony bonkers common. I'm blinding fumbling with cut-up soda bottles and amended Miracle Gro and for some reason these bastards keep fucking thriving
Sooner or later I'm gonna have to figure out what to do with over twenty baby yuzu trees. Like okay I can give some to my mom and boyfriend's mom (the owner of the original yuzu), and my grandparents and dad like gardening, so we're down to sixteen. If I keep the weeds clear and add a sapling fence and cute label I could totally brood parasite one or two into the community garden. Fuck, there's over a dozen left. How big is my extended family? Could I just hand them out at Christmas? I don't even know if the fruits will be edible.

do not forget the patron saint of these weeks that we celebrate ourselves proudly and openly in the streets
her name was Marsha P Johnson, and we have her to thank for so much.
remember, the first Pride was a riot, and she was one of the brave souls who endured it to help carve the path which so many of us walk today. she helped found several activist groups regarding LGBT safety and wellbeing. and she was absolutely radiant, too.
thank you, Marsha. we remember you.
This is an idea I've been playing around with for awhile, and I finally worked out a design I'm happy with. The outer fill patterns combine where their sections overlap, and the resulting patterns are more intricate than their component motifs would suggest. Blackwork embroidery on blue 14-count Aida cloth.
Pattern here (my site) or here (Etsy).
