sorry for ranting again but dirkjohn is still so fucking funny and im so glad its getting (semi)popular again.

its like. two emotionally constipated gays but in opposite directions.. dirk is just touch starved and masks his feelings on purpose because hes a goddamn strider and he never knew anything else.

john just masks his emotions as a natural reaction to literally anything in a "this is fine :)" kind of way. this man has never processed a negative emotion in his life and post sburb there is a WORLD of trauma to explore (for everyone ofc but it would come as more of a surprise to john) and john obv has no clue how to deal.

the ways they like. help each other is so funny john is just like.. thats fucking rough buddy and cooks with dirk and forces him to wash his dirty dishes and dirk is just like hey john do you wanna hotbox with me? and john is of course new to it and like dope yeah why not.

john gets high as fuck with dirk one night and just everything fucking spills out that hes never really had the chance to say, about his family and his friends and how he feels about sburb and the trolls and how upset he is that he never got to express it before but its "his fault" for never saying anything and dirk is like.. bud i dont know how to express to you that you are more than allowed to have emotions and then they kiss. for like 2 hours. and its not spoken of again for 3 weeks before john and dirk both panic to roxy who is so done with men at this point. and she forces dirk to invite him over before smacking some sense into a now very realized, very gay john egbert.

anyways theyre both idiots and gay and their trauma compliments each other in a really fucked up but also funny way and also dirk is more oblivious than john because of course he is.
