maybe i want them to like strike a deal; con artist green making a deal with outlaw red to clear his name? con artist green hiring outlaw red to protect him because he’s on the run from the feds after he maybe possibly stole some things/robbed some people/tricked people outta their money?
maybe i want them to ride along the countryside and green’s trying to get red to warm up to him but red really only warms up to green when green’s not talking? maybe i want them to get into scuffles and green’s actually pretty good with a gun? maybe i want red to befriend every horse he comes across?
maybe i want green to get injured and red takes care of him? y’know, tying some cloth around his leg and red’s just quiet and angry because why the fuck did green do something so reckless and stupid? and green admits under his breath that it was to protect red? and then red goes silent and still??
maybe i want hurriedly pitched tents in the rain? beside a couple of rocks, not too far from the wood, and they’re huddled together waiting out the storm? maybe i want green to open up about how he got where he is and red writes answers in the mud, his words stolen away as the water fills them and warps the mud even further?
maybe i want just a couple of guys, just a couple of dudes, leaning against each other as they discover little things they have in common?
