Don’t worry about your English, it’s just fine! As far as your question; we’re not exactly sure if we’re going to have voice acting as of yet. It would definitely be fun, but we want to focus on finishing our script and our demo before we do anything as far as voice acting goes. Stick around though, we may post about it in the future!

What are your most favorite and least favorite parts in making your game?

I couldn’t answer for everyone, but my favorite thing has probably been seeing how many people wanted to help out with the production, and how many people have actually cared to stick around while the game is in-dev! I mean, we hit 100 followers in about a week after the debut of the blog, and that’s been a major driving force behind my personal involvement in the game.

As far as least favorite goes, I’d have to say the fact that my schedule interferes with working on the game has got to be it.

Hello, anon!

Yes, this project is still alive, our team has just been swamped with work and school and Izzy, who does the programming, has had major troubles with their computer. Once summer rolls around we’ll definitely get back into the game!

Why there is no update?

A lot of our team members (myself and the art team included) have a lot on our plates, so we won’t be updating regularly, exactly. Rest assured, we are working on the game! Please bear with us as we work to reveal the rest of the main cast, and thank you for following our project!

From the same anon who ask the why so many gender question, are the gender is purely for shown only or "integrated" into the story as a conflict?

Good question. The characters’ genders won’t be major plot points, but will still be considered a significant part of their identities.

If you have any more questions concerning the game’s nonbinary genders or would like to start a discussion, we’d be happy to talk to you privately off-anon! Also, we’re still open to any suggestions or criticism of how we handle representation, so if anyone has specific qualms they’d like to bring up, feel free to shoot us an ask!

May I know why the gender are not "normal"? I mean, some character design are clearly states their gender.....

I’ll assume for the sake of simplicity you’re referring to the nonbinary characters in HAMS.

First, I should state that a good number of the people who are working on this game are not cis, myself included being a nonbinary trans woman. We wanted to have a wide range of representation for trans people considering the fact that we and many of our friends would like to identify with more characters.

Second of all, you seem to have a bit of a misconception concerning nonbinary genders. They aren’t “abnormal,” considering nonbinary people have existed for a very, very long time throughout a multitude of cultures. Gender identity also is not influenced by appearance; whether someone “looks like a boy/girl” or “doesn’t look gender neutral enough” does not invalidate their gender, and, with all due respect, is not up to you.

If you are still confused or concerned, don’t worry! You can always do a little research to familiarize yourself with nb people and garner a better understanding. nonbinary.org is a good place to start.

Gender: Questioning (He/She/They)

Age: 17

Height: 5 ft 8

Weapon: Magic Bow (offensive)

Role in game: The student council’s ROTC rep, an offensive/defensive fighter

Personality: Snarky and sarcastic, you would think Tarkus is a rude individual but really is a softie on the inside. He has a father, currently MIA, and therefore lives alone with his mother. Interested in following his father's steps, Tarkus is passionate about being in ROTC and became the representative on the student council for it. He can be commonly found practicing in the gym along side the fencing club, or speaking with Bebe in the student council room.

Bebe is stylish in pretty much anything she wears because a babes gotta be in style all year round, but the season of turtlenecks and coats is where she slays the most in particular

We understand your concerns, anon, and the answer is a resounding no!

Priscilla is the only white character out of the playable cast, and you’ll see a lot more body/racial diversity as we reveal more of the PCs. As of now, we’ve only revealed three out of eight! It should also be noted that Hams is Filipino, both IRL and in-game. 

The NPCs will also be very diverse, and although we can’t give spoilers as far as antagonists and side characters, there will certainly be a majority of POC in the side cast as well.

We’re also going to have a good number of trans characters, as Priscilla and Bebe are both nonbinary (genderfluid and demigirl, respectively), and several more are on the way.

One of our goals in creating this game is to have a diverse group of characters, both playable and non-playable, so if you have any specific qualms about how we handle minority representation in our game, please don’t hesitate to ask us off-anon. One of us will be happy to help sort out whatever issue you see present!

No, definitely not! From here on out I think there are only a couple side characters (relatives) who have pink hair. The rest of our MCs do not.
