it really be this way tho
It’s been a while since I talked about intactivism, so:
Don’t circumcise female babies.
Don’t circumcise male babies.
Don’t make intersex babies have surgery on their genitals.
Don’t permanently alter the genitals of someone too young to consent unless it’s a medical emergency.
I don’t mean to sound rude, but circumcision is to prevent genital infections early on…
No offense taken, and I hope you won’t take any to my rebuttal.
The “it prevents infection” reasoning is a myth, actually. Most of the genital infections in intact male babies are caused by parents forcibly retracting the foreskin when this shouldn’t be done. If you leave the foreskin alone until it retracts on its own, the rate of infections are very, very low.
Further, the infections uncircumcised boys get are almost mild, and not enough to justify putting a baby through a risky surgical procedure. Put another way: why is the treatment for a UTI in a baby girl a prescription of antibiotics, but irreversible surgery for a boy?
Also, if circumcision really is necessary for the health of a young boy, why are countries like France and the United Kingdom, both with a > 20% circumcision rate, not seeing an epidemic of infections? Why is it only such a significant problem here in the United States, where our circumcision rate hovers around 75%?
Also, is prevention really an ethical argument to make here with regards to bodily autonomy? Say breast cancer ran in your family linked to a certain gene. Say you had a baby girl. Would you remove her breast buds to reduce her odds of getting cancer? Or would you leave the decision up to her? These decisions shouldn’t be made unless there is an imminent threat of death or permanent injury/disability.

TIL astronaut Jack Schmidt discovered he was allergic to moon dust, which is a thing millions of other people have probably gone their whole lives never knowing.
Imagine being one of only twelve guys ever to have the honour of walking on the moon and then when you get there you're allergic to it.

Not only that, it’s literally in the driver’s training manual that it is safer to stop your car and sleep on the side of the road than drive tired. Driving tired is as bad as driving drunk. It is actually a DANGER to make sleeping in your car illegal.
Men not being allowed to be emotional & rampant homophobia are the reasons men commit suicide 3.5x more than women… most men are given no outlet to feel feelings. To the point that they kill themselves.
This is a strong man who has been pushed to his limit. There is no shame in this man weeping, just as there is no shame in getting comfort from his brother. This does not make him any less manly or any weaker. The strength in this video clip is stunningly, perfectly manly to me. @warriormale could you please chime in?
Showing emotions i.e. crying shows that you’re human.
All humans cry.
I’ve seen very tough fighters cry.
Crying makes Men human.
WarriorMale
For context: NY Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham, the player that is crying, was brought to tears after seeing a teammate, linebacker Johnathon Casillas, sustain a pretty scary neck injury.
The player consoling him is the Giants Punter, Brad Wing. The two are close friends and were teammates both in college at LSU and then professionally on the Giants.
Odell is one of the best wide receivers in the league right now, potentially of all time, and a bunch of toxic men that did nothing with their lives won’t even let him have human emotion. Imagine what they do to each other.
That one friend you reconnect with and they’re really weird but you love them anyway.
Ears of Contentment
Might have made Maiev a little too large when I ported her. Then again, this is ~10% smaller than the Night Elf model straight out of WoW. Scale between different games is a mess. Ah well.
I like the thought of Maiev being a walking wall anyway.
...Where do I sign the liability waiver to let her sit on my face and break my neck instantly?

This is my favorite celebrity headline of today
John Mulaney voice: It was even weirder, though, when I went out for the night with some money, black out, and wake up with more money, because that means that I earned money. That means that I traded goods and/or services. Which is scary.
