Miyuki was just on a bathroom break from helping with the fish bowl booth when he was suddenly approached by a familiar looking girl. “ Well I don’t know about ice cream but I saw there is a snow cone boot-..Hey! Aren’t you that chick that tried to interview me at lunch about my sport?” he asked with a tilt of his head. The girl really looked like that same girl who asked all those random questions.

“ Well whoever you are.. I don’t mind showing you to the booth. It is pretty hot so I might get some snow cones for myself and my booth partners” he says with a smile. “Come on. It’s this way” he says happily as he started to walk in the direction of where he believes the snow cone booth is. 

              god damn it. of course she managed to bump into the one person who embarrassed the shit out of her. that really was just her luck, wasn’t it.                                “ I REALLY do NOT know who or what you                                   are talking about. please answer my question. “

              play it cool, hikari. since he didn’t recognise her ( hopefully ), she wouldn’t be embarrassed that much, would she be? as long as she was able to get the ice cream or snow cone or whatever there was, she didn’t care.                                “ THANK you for helping me out. “               calmly she started to follow him towards where he said it was, starting to count the money she had in her head.                                “ HOW much are they ? “

                            “ HEY. i wanted to ask you something real                                quick ! ! --- please help me out for a moment ! ! “               she’s attempting to catch the other girl’s attention, hands folded behind her back. man, navigating this festival was a little bit difficult, maybe they should’ve given out a map or something? put up signs? it might’ve helped her out.

                              “ STUPID, stupid weather. “              fingers pull at the short sleeves of the t-shirt she’d slapped on, the thought of rolling the sleeves up and walking around bare foot momentarily crossing her mind but ended up being pushed away for politeness sake.              so, she approached someone in order to ask a question, hoping to see if this stupid festival had a shop or something that had ice cream.

                              “ IS there an ice cream stall ? “

Lunch Time Interview || Hikari & Miyuki

Miyuki was eating his lunch at the cafeteria with the rest of the baseball team when a girl randomly approaches him. Hearing her question made him tilt in confusion. “What do you mean what do I do again? I’m a bit confused as to what you’re asking, girl” he says before taking  a bit of his sandwich. “I’d help you out but I need to know what you’re asking for” he says while he was chewing his food. Miyuki then swallows before looking at his team mates. “Do you know what she is asking?” he asks them

All of them either shook their heads or said that they didn’t. “See. You gotta explain yourself more, girl” he says with a light chuckle. 

                   a frown formed on hikari’s face. how hard was it to understand that she was asking about the stupid sport that he seemed to play? was she really not spelling it out clear enough or him? was there some sort of way she had to say things without making herself sound like an idiot or having to repeat herself?                    there was no way that that was possible. it just couldn’t be. god damn, she really had to repeat herself, didn’t she.

                             “ THE GAME. the game you play. explain it                                 to me, please. it confuses me. so i’m here,                                 asking questions about it. “

Nico stifled a laugh.  She really found it hard to believe Hikari had never bought something from the kids section before.  Still, she wasn’t about to start another ruckus so she merely gestured for the other girl to tag along.  “It’s over by the dressing rooms.  My sisters spend too much time trying on clothes over there.”

She weaved through the clothing racks, pausing occasionally to make sure Hikari didn’t get too far behind.  “Have you seriously never been shopping with your sister before.  The kids section is a staple for every time my family goes shopping.”  The pair reached the large sign designating this section of the store for kids clothing and leaned against a shelf that was advertising a sale on jean shorts.

“Here you go, I guess.”

                               “ oh, so you have sisters ? how old ? “                 she was rather curious, not only by the fact that nico had siblings, but also by the fact that her siblings often spent time trying on clothes. was her little sister like that as well? maybe she should spend more time attempting to talk to her sister then just listening and going along with everything that she said.

                               “ i’m serious. i’ve only ever been shopping                                          with my elder brother, and that was for groceries. “                 ah, so this was the kids section. no wonder, it wasn’t that hard to find, just look for cat prints.. she’ll have to make a mental note of that. now, to find that jacket her sister wanted, she just needs to hope that it’s still in stock.                 saying her thanks to nico, hikari quickly busies herself with looking around for the thing her sister wanted.

“This isn’t my first time at the store, it’s not like I haven’t walked the entirety of i– you know what never mind.  Sure, I’ll help.  What are you looking for exactly?”  Hikari was almost as nasty as her, which she didn’t appreciate in the slightest.  Although Nico had a feeling that maybe the other girls rather sour attitude had something to do with her.

                            “ thank you for being agreeable. “                a sigh, it almost sounded like nico was ready to argue there. that wouldn’t have turned out very pretty. as long as nico wasn’t going to argue with her, hikari wasn’t going to argue back.                             “ it’s for my sister. i need to get                                      her something from the kids section.                                i don’t, however, normally go                                      shopping, and i buy from the other                                sections, so i have no idea                                      where it is. “

“…right.”  She didn’t appreciate Hikari’s lecturing tone of voice, but since she promised she wouldn’t tell anyone Nico supposed she’d just keep her mouth shut for now.  “Anyway, if you’re still looking I can wait.”  She shuffled her feet sheepishly.  “Since you’re going to help pay and all.  I’m not really in that big of a rush.”  Which was evident from how much time she had spent bothering the manager. 

              hikari quickly gave an excusing cough.                              “ i only wanted to look for one more                                         thing. since you seemed to have paced                                 around the entirety of the store, i                                         suppose you wouldn’t mind helping me                                 find it ? “               her tone is still a little blunt, and telling nico exactly what was on her mind didn’t seem to register as anything all that rude in her brain.

                                 “ i’m sorry, what do you do again ? “              she’s a little confused about this sport, but her mother insisted and insisted that she should go out and do something instead of hauling up in her room. admittedly, it be good for her muscle growth if she did that, she was weak enough already without not doing anything to help it out.

            so she was asking some people who did sports. that was why she was approaching someone she barely knew. goodness, mother would be proud at her for talking to someone she’d never met before, wouldn’t she?

“Go…halves?”  Nico wouldn’t have to worry about dinner money if she went halves.  But she hardly knew Hikari.  Not only that, but she couldnt’ seem weak now.  She’d look like a total pushover if she agreed to that after she’d already spent a good half an hour pestering the manager.

“Under normal circumstances I wouldn’t need your help, but since I’m running low on cash due to pay day being pushed back I suppose I have no choice but to accept your offer.”  She huffed and shifted her weight to her other foot.  “But you can’t tell anyone.”

                             “ yeah, go halves ! “               she was perfectly willing to pay for one of nico’s sweaters as long as she stopped harassing that poor manager, and even if nico didn’t want her to do it, she’d probably end up paying for it anyway.

                             “ that’s perfectly fine with me ! it’s                                          better to accept help than to go without                                 what you really needed, right ? “                hikari laughed lightly, nodding her head in agreement to the whole ‘don’t tell anyone’ part of this agreement.                               “ i wont. i promise you that. “

Nico nodded.  “That makes sense, I guess.  It still doesn’t seem to deter some people.”  She huffed, specifically referencing Bolin.  Although he only did it to stall class, which at times was a blessing.  Shrugging, she looked down at the sweaters in her arms.  She had completely forgotten her mission.

“But that’s totally off topic!  You nearly made me forget why I was angry in the first place!”  Nico had enough money to purchase the sweaters in question, but the real issue was that she needed to have enough money left over to buy dinner for her siblings.  “I’m going to have to find that manager again.”

                           “ yeah.. you definitely aren’t wrong.. “               there was definitely more than one person in that class that flicked through her mind at that statement, but it seems like nico had someone in particular on her mind that asked every single stupid question.

                           “ oh, i didn’t make you forget ? “               a frown formed on her face, she really didn’t want nico to go back to harassing that poor manager. they’ve probably had enough of an earful from those mothers with two fighting children and that really weird haircut they all seemed to have.                            “ why don’t we just go halves on the pay ? “
